  1. Let's not because then I would feel obliged to do the same.
  2. That doesn't make it better to make everyone wait at a time when we had talked about trying to run through a whole bunch of picks. No one else has waited for a decision while on the clock. If it was this big a deal he should have just sent a PM in the first place instead of a thread where we dance around the situation but have to keep our cards close.
  3. I don't mind waiting 8 hours on someone to make a pick because they are at work and can't check the board in any way. I do kind of have a problem with waiting 3 hours on Saturday morning to argue over the semantics of what is and isn't a tag team when we could probably be halfway into the 5th round by now if this pick was already made at 8-9ish when it could have been.
  4. Southwest Championship Wrestling would like to promise to everyone else that it will not waste their time trying to get cute about drafting rules while they are actively on the clock.
  5. At this point I wish we could just get a final ruling of "if they aren't listed as a tag team on the rosters they aren't draftable as a team" so we could just make this picks process go faster.
  6. These questions are clearly about drafting together, not about use in booking.
  7. Had this same problem. But I managed to carny my way back into David Von Erich and then losing The Moondogs put someone on my board I'd honestly not even thought about.
  8. Dylan if you are really that worried about keeping it secret if you can't do it, just ask KrisZ in a PM. I think everyone would be happy deferring to his judgment on the issue. It's come up because it's being thought about trying it.
  9. This is not any different from what I offered, jfwiw. There is no "in-game" currency you could have told me you'd give me $1000 a week to run a tape from you every week and I'd have said "sure! Joe Blanchard loves that idea!" Joe is desperate.
  10. There is a private message chat going on with every Canadian promotion to do a lot of joint things. Info coming soon. That one makes perfect sense, since we area all; socialist pigs. This is a great idea. Definitely makes it a harder place to break into for someone who might be thinking about expansion...
  11. Southwest Championship Wrestling, although not an NWA member, would like to remain in consideration for time. Especially if it were to become the "30 minutes from MSG" show, just in the interest of diversity.
  12. Big no. Someone trying to set up taking 2 big names that were a team years ago. If they weren't a regular team in the past year then it should be a no. Regular, not on again off again. Otherwise why not try and save Jerry Lawler & Bill Dundee as a tag team?
  13. I'm really enjoying working with others here, doing joint shows, talent trades, etc... It is a part that I didn't think about when I signed up, but it's been a lot of fun. Yea this part has been fun. Especially defending the honor of the territory system against those with hungry eyes looking across the whole map of the United States...
  14. To me this isn't really a competition, outside of perhaps the drafting part. It's just a creative writing outlet using the medium of professional wrestling. So I find much more value in getting the guys I would enjoy booking more than getting bigger names or having a "national TV time slot." The roleplaying aspect of being a carny wrestling promoter also has some appeal.
  15. This is how I feel. Don't even think you should be able to draft past teams if they weren't together as of July 1st and had not been for some time. Otherwise that would have changed my draft strategy for my planned team of Dr. D & Dennis Condrey (who teamed for a bit in Memphis in 1980) I don't care either way, what do others think? I don't plan on drafting former teams at all. Depends on what it is. If someone wants to draft The Blackjacks together that would be ok with me even though they weren't teaming at the time. It would need to be something on that level, a team that was clearly established as a team, had a long run together and did eventually reunite to team up for a bit. It couldn't have happened due to saves but if someone had decided in the 1st round that they wanted to draft The Texas Outlaws: Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch then that wouldn't have been ok.

  17. Joe Blanchard didn't trust the WWF had good intentions of acquiring a national time slot and Southwest is quite happy with it's current deal. It didn't want to be tempted with corrupt New York offers and was happy to conclude the deal before they could be proffered.
  18. Joe Blanchard would like to point to this easily negotiated deal with the one of the NWA's longest standing members as evidence of his repentance for running against the NWA & Fritz Von Erich in Ft. Worth earlier this year and for our very poorly done "Undisputed World Title" tournament. Joe and all of us at Southwest Championship Wrestling want nothing for the wrestling business but co-operation and prosperity.
  19. David Von Erich - dedhemingway (Central States) King Kong Bundy - goc (SWCW) Could you swap these please to reflect the status of our trade?
  20. That's what you get for going to sleep JerryvonKramer. Central States will now be seen on the USA Network on Sunday mornings at 11 A.M. while Southwest will still be featured in it's local time slots in GREAT markets such as San Antonio, Wichita Falls & Waco, Texas. Joe Blanchard is thrilled to have this $7000 a week expense wiped off his books so he can focus on using that money to bring the best talent available to his REGIONAL (as it should be) promotion. He has realized that a national time slot did not fit those goals.
  21. Give you the slot and King Kong Bundy for David Von Erich? Otherwise you are essentially the one who is responsible for WWF going national. Besides you get a national time slot forever I only get a wrestler for 8 months.
  22. Poor David Von Erich just wants to stay in his home state of Texas after his father left him out in the cold in favor of Tito Santana and Kamala.
  23. I'll take DVE for the slot with no picks involved right now and we walk away from this with a signed deal. Otherwise we'll be waiting for WWF with it's eyes on the world to get into the negotiations.
  24. Since there has been no interest in paying for promotional time on Southwest Championship Wrestling, Joe Blanchard is looking to sell the national time slot on the USA Network to the highest bidder due to being unable to afford the $7000 weekly fee.
