  1. Gonna need maybe 10 minutes here. I had some things worked out in theory involving a trade for me taking Brad Armstrong with this pick and now I gotta figure out what to do.
  2. Hey Al worked Porltand! And you still didn't draft the Portland tag team who I have never actually seen have a tag match there and all my listings of them are as singles.
  3. I can't wait until we are fighting over Al Madril.
  4. I almost don't want dkookypunk to show up until tomorrow. I am in a real crisis of confidence right now. I also want to say there has been one name high on my list every time that I pass over because I don't know what to do with him. He's a pretty big deal though and am shocked he is not taken.
  5. Well there goes #11 Ed Wiskowski.
  6. I am going to have to tell Joe Blanchard he really need not fear that WWF expansion nightmare he had. VJM putting some British dude in charge instead of his son has really changed the outlook for the future.
  7. Joe Blanchard is prepared to do just that if you put your hungry little eyes on his soon to be THRIVING territory in San Antonio.
  8. You ARE doing names on a dartboard drafting just like I thought.
  9. Write out 37 people that you want. I've enjoyed doing "worst case scenario" 80+ lists for "what happens if everyone I want is gone in the next 2 rounds?"
  10. Troy Graham, I believe is part of the listed Bruise Brothers. No listing for Porkchop Cash makes me sure of it. KrisZ can give a final word on if Bruise Brothers needs to be taken out and Porkchop added as a single. Also glad Eddie was somehow omitted otherwise I'm not sure I could have snagged him.
  11. The Brad Armstrong pick makes me a little sick to my stomach because I was going to take him for someone else as part of a trade deal that has now gone awry and an important piece for me is now a big question mark. I may end up eating crow and holding up the process with my pick waiting on negotiations.
  12. Another JVK pick that I love. Couldn't figure out what to do with Ole, even though I knew he was still a top talent in 83. I am trying to go more by who I could actually come up with interesting stuff for over the biggest name left on the board. I like Ole in the JVK WWF too.
  13. I would like to apologize for my previous hurrying of Dylan & KrisZ and offer my support to JVK. I apologize to Dylan & KrisZ because they were legitimately busy and I was rude. I support JVK because when he over thinks his picks like this he's almost sure to take no one that I want. Make your next list update searchable by guys who were NWA champs in the 70s so you know who to build around.
  14. This is gets more amusing by the minute when you think of how fast he can break out a map of Ohio and draw a line across it.
  15. I guess I have the rep as the complainer for taking long on picks but this one has been amusing especially watching him jump all over threads. I am somehow flabbergasted that the Dread Lord would honestly seem not to have made a list up of needs/wants/priorities.
  16. Southwest Championship Wrestling would like to announce that the majority of it's roster will be cycling out on a loser leaves town basis. This means a lot of guys I draft from now on will be in for 3-4 months and then out until they've been gone long enough to be fresh again. This means I will have a lot of guys I have rights to but no use for and would like to foster talent trading with any other territory that can see themselves running on a similar cycle type basis. Anyone planning on cycling heel tag teams in and out to feed to their top babyface tag team is an ideal partner for me. I don't have The Moondogs but if I did would still rather not repeat history and run 100 straight Moondogs vs. Fabs matches.
  17. At this point I have overbooked my future plans and will feel crushed and heart broken if I lose a piece of the undercard puzzle. My top 5 acts all are fairly easy to book. Eddie is my interesting undercard angle. I got one more big piece for my 3rd babyface act that I absolutely want and then from there it's just trying to find guys who would work well against The Fabs & Duggan on short loser leaves timelines & some utility/job guys after that.
  18. Current as of the end of the 6th round with Southwest Championship Wrestling's incredible pick of Eddie Gilbert.

    1983 Rulebook

I wouldn't have wanted to take a high draft pick on a guy that couldn't even be used for a full year. Now it's starting to be worth considering so I thought I'd toss it out. It's probably better to wait for future drafts though.

    1983 Rulebook

Can someone draft "the rights" to Terry Funk or Gino Hernandez and agree to the stipulation that they can't come back until they actually came back in real life?
  21. Not sure any pick has made me happier than getting Eddie Gilbert here with the last pick of the 6th round. Not being able to use him until September is fine with me too because I know exactly what I want HIM to do and drafted him solely for an idea I had and narrowed down my young 83 babyfaces down to him being the best to pull it off. I just don't have the grizzled old veteran for the role that I envisioned for Bob Sweetan since he's taking off to Puerto Rico. And Mr. Wrestling II my backup who I hoped would slide is also gone.
  22. People can invade Southwest Territory if they want. I will warn however you that Mr. Saito is Japanese and thus, obviously, in 1983 he would be willing to be paid as an assassin.
  23. Yes! I got him! Thanks Beast. Literally just walked in the door. JerryvonKramer KrisZ Cross Face Chicken Wing dawho5
  24. EDIT: Already taken care of.
  25. Southwest with Duggan & The Fabs are two legitimate drawing acts which is like...2 more than they ever had. So I'm pretty happy all things considered, the rest of my draft is just picking up pieces for the undercard/tag teams/utility guys.
