Does anyone know if Swagger's contract is up soon? His lack of a tan and the way he was essentially squashed make me think he's on his way out. (although the shitty crowd all having their heads turned to watch some drunks fight during his comeback & breaking out of The Accolade really hurt the match) And I'm not one of those "the sky is falling!" guys when it comes to WWE but has their ever been a period of worse main event finishes over a 16 month period? Obviously there are more PPV main events now than the period during the 80s that got Dusty labeled as the "Dusty finish" guy but from the Daniel Bryan stuff last year all the way to the finishes of the last 2 PPV main events, it has been a long stretch of very unsatisfying, over contrived finishes. Mania was the only time it felt like they got everything right but that lasted all seemingly all of one night since they were already deflating Cesaro by Raw the next night.
  2. 'Dirty White Boy' Tony Anthony.
  3. There is a big difference between "doesn't matter" and "shouldn't disqualify someone from the list." It definitely matters which is why the list of nominees is mainly guys who worked at the top of the card.

    Matt Sydal

I haven't seen much of his indy work but I don't think I could agree with this statement. People might think this is crazy but his work on ECW has him as an all time babyface worker in my opinion. I realize there are plenty of guys with deeper bodies of work but the way he could sell and bump was as good as anyone I've ever seen. I can't remember anyone else in WWE who would sometimes have their match end without their opponent hitting their finisher, and just have them take a really nasty looking bump to end the match instead. He also had some great looking offense with obviously the Shooting Star Press but he did a lot of good looking strikes based around kicks and knees that I thought helped him look credible against bigger opponents. I think it's unfortunate that he ended getting that ankle injury not too long after his debut because it seemed like they were ready to do something with him after he won the voting at Cyber Sunday 2008. After that he ended up on Raw and then got into trouble because he didn't want to stop smoking weed.
  5. Card placement absolutely matters in the discussion even if just because guys higher on the card are given more time and more opportunities to have a good match.

I think there is absolutely no way that Vince watches NXT. I'm sure he gets reports and I think he might watch a video package of someone that's been put together for him but there is no way he is watching entire shows or even entire matches.

Is WWE really so worthy of being defended that you need to personally attack someone and pull out years old posts over it? And why is it that it seems like the biggest arguments online about WWE happen over the Divas? Why does anyone on the internet even care or watch the Divas division at all? You can't complain how there is too much TV and Raw is too long and then NOT fast forward the Divas.

They could still pull back on him and have him beat Rusev and be U.S. champ for a bit. Beating Rusev has almost as much value as beating Brock at this point. Not that I think they'll do it, or will even need to. I don't foresee the grand revolt some are predicting.

I wish WWE would just never have a fan vote again so we wouldn't have everyone saying the votes are rigged because they don't like the results.
  10. Dave from the 12/8 WON talking about Curt Hennig: I just can't see a legitimate argument.

On DVDVR they're predicting "Die Roman Die" type reactions ala Rocky Maivia if they go with the Reigns/Lesnar idea. And apparently he's a bad promo because he "sounds rapey"

The whole Roman Reigns hatred on the internet feels completely divorced from the reactions that he gets on TV and probably on house shows when he's active. It's one of those current trends that I don't understand like Dolph Ziggler love and thinking that Bray Wyatt was some huge missed opportunity. I know everyone's sensitive to throwing around accusations of "group think" but when I read the DVDVR Raw threads that are like unanimous in their hatred of Roman Reigns that's all I can think.
  13. Here is the movie itself: http://www.mediafire.com/watch/5tbnmibefrgur0k/Titanes_en_el_Ring-1973-CG.avi
  14. can you upload just the srt files to mediafire/mega.co.nz ? http://www.mediafire.com/download/h128hyf3nzpnnfu/Titanes_en_el_Ring-1973-CG.srt
  15. If I knew how to get the subtitled version on youtube I'd just do that but not sure if you can make that work with .srt files.
  16. Yea, so I just checked it out. Definitely have the 1973 movie WITH English subtitles. Doesn't seem like the match commentary is subtitled but all the other dialogue is. Video quality is much better than I expected. Runs an hour and 10 minutes. If someone has a Google Drive account (or whatever people are using post MegaUpload/RapidShare) they want to let me use then I'll put it up where everyone can grab it.
  17. I'm working on trying to find that right now, a buddy of mine who is on a big movie tracker says he thinks he found it. EDIT: For those enjoying the songs, this guy has a bunch of them along with short clips of the wrestlers to go along with their theme music. TitanesTrons if you will. https://www.youtube.com/user/rdaloi/videos
  18. I have been digging around for some on youtube and they are insanely catchy little tunes. Here's a few choice ones, with the most famous being Caballero Rojo Caballero Rojo: Martin Karadagian: La Momia Negra: Pepino: Here is the whole LP they put out of themes in the 70s:
  19. Haven't seen much of his Japan work and I will agree that his WCW stuff during the Watts era is not impressive, but I really liked him in later days UWF as the top babyface. I thought he did a good job projecting that in the ring and he had some very good matches with Terry Gordy and Dick Murdoch. I also liked the Eddie Gilbert match and him running in place while having Gilbert up in a military press is still probably the most impressive feat of strength I've ever seen in a wrestling ring.
  20. Thank you guys. Already read the WON bio and the articles from the 1wrestlinglegend website, will seek out the podcast later. For everyone else, I would encourage you to watch at least a few minutes of that video I posted. I especially want to hear Matt D's thoughts on it.
  21. Based on my travels in Colombia I can understand why they wouldn't want to put out DVDs. There were little cheap $1 DVD shops all over the place with brand new releases and even stuff that was still in theaters.
