No you guys, Russo said he would never work with TNA again and with all that PYROANDBALLYHOO VIP~! money coming in why would he want to?
-
Not really sure what the point of that list is. Every wrestling promotion everywhere has guys who can't be the top singles champion.

More 92 Observer stuff I know Ventura won this suit which is why they were still cutting his commentary out of DVDs sometimes. Did the court rule on the independent contractor status? I didn't know that was originally part of his lawsuit.

I feel like I'm almost done reading other boards at this point. It's just ridiculous to me after every Raw to read a dozen people claim Vince McMahon needs to be forced out so HHH can take over and make Raw just like NXT. Besides the fact that I find NXT to be highly over rated, a lot of the shit that works in NXT doesn't work on the national stage. Does anyone think the Vaudevillians is an act that would work on Raw? The NXT iMPACT Zone loved Adam Rose and his entourage entrance but it didn't exactly make him a star on Raw.

From a November 1992 Observer: That didn't happen on TV did it?

If New Japan wanted to do some entrance on the show where a dude comes down from the ceiling and another Over the Edge type incident happens, do you really think Dave couldn't credibly cover that story just because he got ONE night's pay to do ONE night's announcing?
-
Not really seeing the controversy. He wouldn't have been paid by NJPW he would have been paid by GFW. I don't see any reason it would have affected his future coverage of New Japan just because he called one New Japan show for Jeff Jarrett's PPV that no one is going to buy anyway. How is it different than people in sports media like Bob Costas who calls games for MLB Network?

I did enjoy the Survivor Series Main Event and it was pretty interesting however I do feel they should have kept the Sting angle going instead of just not mentioning it after the show. As a fan they missed the boat as they havent furthered the storyline at all. They've mentioned it, haven't you been listening to Michael Cole yell at us about THE VIGILANTE Sting? But yea it's kind of stupid that they haven't had him on TV since HHH & Steph couldn't continue the angle on their end either. But I think his contract was only for like 5 appearances? I forget exactly how many but it was between 3-6 and he's already used 1 for Survivor Series so they are just saving all his dates for the Mania build.

Here is something fun from an old August 92 Observer:

Watching Brickhouse Brown's first shoot right now and I am still blown away by these "I didn't know it was a work until after my first match" stories.

Rusev is way too good to be dead in the water after one loss. Big Show, Mark Henry & Kane are all in the twilight of their careers and WWE is going to need a big intimidating dude to fill that gatekeeper type role. It doesn't hurt that he's pretty damn good and already better than Kane.

I didn't really consider Jeff (2003) or Eddie (2002) for this since they both worked for RoH before they became WWE main eventers.
-
Is Del Rio the biggest star to work RoH? I would consider Matt Hardy to be the biggest star to work RoH previously and even though Del Rio achieved more success in WWE as far as holding titles goes I'm still not sure which one of them I would consider the bigger star.

Somewhere in reading about Titanes I read something about Gigantes. Don't remember where it was but all it said was just that it popped up and had started to get successful before seemingly disappearing overnight. Might have just been a youtube comment.

I probably would have checked it out for the oddity of hearing Dave Meltzer and Jim Ross calling matches together.

[1994-11-07-WWF-Raw] Vince McMahon announcement / King's Court: 1-2-3 Kid
goc replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
I don't see any way they could have kept Hogan and got him hot again in the WWF. I don't think a heel turn in WWF would have worked nearly as well as it did in WCW, and although he helped WCW's business a lot, his shelf life as a babyface there was really short and he didn't get things HOT until he turned. As far as this farewell to Randy, I'm kind of blown away by it really. This has to be the only guy who got talked about this way when they left AND left to sign with WCW. It kind of makes the whole "Vince hates Randy" thing even more baffling to me.- 13 replies

At least they didn't make The Interview.

Not to go too far off topic, but Ric Flair started looking bad long before the WM 24 retirement. Sometime in 2004 or 2005 it seemed like he just started aging in dog years because he still looked like RIC FLAIR when he showed in 2003 but it didn't last too long.
-
I am not even sure why they went all 'Extreme Rules' with it this year. I don't seem to remember them making EVERY match a gimmick match on the TLC PPVs in the past.
-
Geez I don't even want to see Taker at THIS Mania, and now we're predicting him to still be going at 32? I sure hope not.

They don't really seem to have much of a choice in doing what USA wants. Doesn't seem like there was really any interest from another network to take them so they pretty much need to make the USA partnership work. Three hours is possible, the issue is that they fill the time up with the same 10 guys every week. They have a pretty big roster, why not use some of those 3 hours on Raw to build an actual midcard? There should be at least one title match on Raw every week between the IC, US and Tag titles.

I don't think it's fair at all to judge Rey as a draw based on his title run, which for some stupid reason is maybe his worst booked period in his whole WWE run. In 2005 he and Eddie were bringing in audiences that were coming exclusively to see them as there were stories of large portions of the audience leaving after their matches were over on house shows if Rey/Eddie didn't go on last.

How can you defend stuff like Dean Ambrose jobbing to a monitor and Big Show going over Rowan? That was just awful and really brought down the PPV. Dean Ambrose is such a loser at this point Is Rowan really a guy that has a future? Based on the finish of the Cena/Rollins match, I expect the plan was to try and put a little heat on Big Show before feeding him to Reigns. I liked Ziggler/Harper the best but I also thought Ryback/Kane was better than people are giving it credit for.
