  1. So I know discussion about Punk's fight is going to end up getting posted somewhere on the board might as well just make an official topic for it and keep it here. I'm not ordering the fight cuz that shit is expensive and I can just catch the CM Punk KO gif on twitter but I'm sure there are at least a few people who post here that are going to buy the PPV.

  3. I know I'm late with this question but how was Caristico received on his return to CMLL? Is he even close to as over now as he was before he left for WWE?

I really want the Miz/Ziggler feud to end in a hair vs. hair match and a bald Dolph.
  5. Only watched 3 episodes so far but seems like he and Rocky Johnson both only worked 1 episode. Not entirely sure though as I have not watched everything.
  6. I've been working on uploading some California Championship Wrestling from 1986 on my youtube channel over the past couple days (and am still uploading more). It's maybe the best bad wrestling that I have ever seen. It's a collection of barely trained complete unknowns who never went anywhere like Ripper Savage, Beartrap Smith, the Destroyin Samoan and a bunch of other scrubs against older veterans who apparently couldn't find any other work like Rocky Johnson, Gran Goliath and Superfly Jimmy Snuka. And Tux Newman of Memphis "fame" as the heel manager. Apparently in the episodes that aired before the ones I have Toru Tanaka (who would have been 55-56 at this point) was the top babyface star but he got injured and then they put him on COLOR COMMENTARY. Which as it turns out was somehow NOT a good idea as he makes Art Donovan sound like Lance Russel (at the rare times you can actually understand him) Worth checking out for people who like the "so bad it's good" type stuff. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqPNCmgH5lH-KS8cejs-Aww/videos

Raw could be 6 hours long and there would still be no excuse for stuff like that awful New Day segment or really ANY of the "comedy" stuff that The Club has been doing since the split.
  8. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that Patterson and Bret were a lot closer than Bruce & Bret. Patterson would have been more pissed that Vince screwed Bret than not being in the loop.
  9. So Gabe Sapolsky is running a "creative seminar" on Saturday and I feel like that belongs in this thread. It's a great idea for Gabe to make some money but what kind of realistic chance does anyone going to this seminar have of actually getting a job writing/booking for a wrestling company?
  10. I imagine a significant portion of the audio that was lost was you guys talking about how awesome it would be to have footage of Lawler vs. Wahoo.
  11. Well the Sarge/Sheik finish was a big payoff to the whole thing as a big part of the feud was Iron Sheik kicking Sarge with his "loaded" boot and then the final match ended with Sarge taking Sheik's boot away from him and hitting him with it. So I would put that one in the iconic finish category. Taste of your own medicine and whatnot.
  12. I figured that was Joe Malenko especially with the comment about "he sure was in demand" later.
  13. This week's show is going to be about the Brawl For All!
  14. Maybe throw a Frankensteiner or two in there too right? I didn't mind the finish but the post match was really weak. I got no sense that it was the end of a long feud because they didn't shake hands afterwards or start crying and take bows to the crowd.
  15. Yea the Last Battle of Atlanta is not going to just "disappear" from the internet it was on a classic wrestling torrent site like an hour after it hit the Network. It's going to exist even if they take it down tomorrow.

So the Usos turned heel on Smackdown after losing to American Alpha. I'm interested to see how they do as heels but think they need to be repackaged a bit. They should stop taking showers, quit brushing their teeth, leave food in their beards & become the Ewwwsos
  17. So I think GOTNW and I would enjoy watching wrestling together because I'm actually on his side with this match AND the Four Way match. Everyone universally shat on this Cage match and praised the 4 way to high heaven on twitter as the event was going on but I'm just now watching both for the 1st time and thought the Cage match was actually pretty good, while being overly long, and the 4 way was just your completely standard WWE 4 way and not at all anything to rave about. Definitely agree that the bump into the tacks was built to very well and I have shit on Jericho a lot about his current run but big props to him for agreeing to take a thumbtacks spot that he totally could have wussed out of. I know he has to have enough pull to say "I'm not taking a bump onto tacks" and get away with it. I thought they actually did a tremendous job of getting the most out of what was a very odd set of weapons in this match. This was MUCH better than the Payback match which really did come off as a parody of wrestling and the only way to get any enjoyment out of that match is to watch it with the "so bad it's good" mindset, which I did and laughed a lot throughout. This was better than Payback because Ambrose greatly benefits from being in garbage matches because he can do a bunch of shit with weapons and not have to just spam rebound clotheslines to infinity. I was thinking to myself "man every Ambrose match should be in a Cage because it means he can't do that stupid rebound" but then he found a way to force it in anyway. But one forced rebound clothesline in a cage is at least better than doing it like 5 times in a regular match. I'm not what I'd rate this match but it's no where near one of the worst matches ever or even of the year. If you want to point to a Jericho/Ambrose match as worst of the year type stuff the Payback match is right there.

New Day wasn't the issue with that segment, it was with whoever wrote it. I love the First Amendment but if he/she/they were arrested, I would happily be in favor. Just think about the fact that someone's real life job is to write a segment like that. They are going to be paid actual American dollars for rendering that service.

Apparently Vince doesn't remember that Gallows was Festus. I really hope someone reminds him and it puts an end to the streak of god awful segments that The Club has been involved in ever since the split. Anderson would be perfectly acceptable as the new Jesse in that act.

I thought that Bo squash was going to have the "jobber wins via banana peel" finish.
  21. Randy Rich! Tommy Rich's fake cousin who somehow looks more like a relative than actual cousin Johnny Rich.

Like I said on twitter, we've now learned that in the eyes of WWE taking Adderall is worse than getting arrested for being drunk in public.
  23. Is it time to put to rest the idea that Sasha is a great promo? I mean it's been over a year and she continues to struggle in that department. Looking at it objectively Charlotte has destroyed her at every turn. I will give her a slight pass because she seems uncomfortable as a face but it just isn't there yet I agree, felt like her character lost any edge as a babyface. I despised making Sasha and Bayley instant BFFs after their "heated rivalry" a year ago. Definitely agree with Charlotte destroying, she has been on fire lately. Sasha is another casualty of crowds not understanding that if you really like a heel then wildly cheering for them and chanting their name is probably not a good idea. I knew a month after she got called up that it wouldn't be long before she got turned babyface due to the crowd reactions she was getting.
