  1. Great point, you're right. All those people spent the last 14 years desperately awaiting his return after his great match on Metal. And as far as what JVK said, I wouldn't completely disregard house show reactions and merchandise sales over the grumblings of TV and PPV crowds. Why would you fire a guy who gets great reactions on house shows (audiences of mostly families) and is in the top 3 of merchandise sales? The WWE audience is not one unified group who all act the same and spend their money the same way. Being hated by the hardcore crowd didn't seem to do much damage to Cena's ability to sell merchandise and tickets.
  2. If the solution for getting Reigns over is firing him so he can go get smark cred in New Japan they might as well just give up and sell the company. Everyone wants to heap all the blame on WWE and they deserve their fair share but the crowds right now are pretty shitty. There are certain cities they go to where they are getting the reactions of an away team in real sports. The fact that AJ Styles, a guy who had never even been on WWE TV previously, was the most over guy at the Rumble just proves that point. Buying tickets to "hijack" a show to me is one of the dumbest things in current wrestling. Just don't buy a ticket and don't go. Empty seats speak louder than a negative chant.
  3. So one reaction tells the whole story? I guess the crowd wasn't going nuts for him at the end of TLC or when he hit the Superman Punch on Vince and won the title from Sheamus. He gets different reactions at different times in different cities. People seem to want to boil him down to his reaction on one given night to fit whatever their narrative is either "he's over and should be the guy" or "everyone hates him and he sucks" but it's not nearly that cut and dry. He's not as over as they want him to be or as over as he should be if he's going to be THE top babyface. But he's not The Renegade, Erik Watts or 'Die Rocky Die' where he's rejected by 100% of the audience.
  4. I think that's a pretty terrible comparison because we don't have records of The Renegade or Erik Watts selling a lot of merchandise or getting big pops on house shows.
  5. And now you know why some people thought the Flair/Taylor matches were rated too highly in the Mid-South poll because that match inexplicably finished at #27

He certainly has a case for one of the greatest wrestling gifs of all time:
  7. I'm still hoping for a comparison of HHH and Mr. Electricity Steve Regal.

80% is way too high with Network subs hovering around the 1 million mark and Raw getting over 3 million viewers each week.
  9. Kind of surprised to see my man Cowboy Lang as a heel in that match as I'm used to seeing him work babyface opposite Little Tokyo. I haven't had time to watch much lately but that match is going to be the first thing I check out when I start getting caught up.

Coke and roids not doing him any favors in his 70s. Ridiculous. I'm pretty sure he looks better and is healthier than the vast majority of 70 year old men in America. The guy was on the cover of Muscle and Fitness just this past March.
  11. IRS wrestling in a shirt and tie was awesome as far as I'm concerned. Whoever named IRS has pie on their face.

I do think it's character related. Owens presents himself as a prize fighter who only cares about money and winning. Well when you got a guy who actually does fight real fights for money and he's fat, people give him a bunch of shit about that and talk about how much better he could be if he stopped being fat. See: Roy Nelson.
  13. Your regular reminded that The Nightmares rule
  14. This is the best thing I've ever seen. Find 2 more Androide matches so I can nominate him for GWE!
  15. We need to start tweeting a bunch of pics of Titanes gimmicks to someone like Sandow and try and get him to pitch one to Vince to get back on TV.
  16. I've never really seen it pimped as a 5* match but yea, it's usually talked about as a great match.

I don't disagree, but as a counterpoint what else are guys like that in the Rumble for other to get beaten and tossed by guys like Brock? I don't think he should throw all 29 others out, but the Diesel/Kane "big guy throws out a bunch of jobbers" spot always seems to work. I don't have a problem with a whole bunch of scrubs getting tossed by Lesnar. I just don't think him starting at #1 and doing that would be very interesting or compelling. I said in another post I'd just rather see him come in at 22-23. Then maybe you do a situation where everyone in the ring tries to team up on Brock and he eliminates all the scrubs and you get it down to just 2-3 other people in there with him.
  18. I really don't agree with this at all. They never really put any effort into pushing him before New Day. He debuted as a heel bodyguard and they didn't give him much to do in that role and then his biggest "push" was giving him the IC title but not really giving him anything to do with it except have random matches. He's only really been on the main roster 2 years and spent a lot of it on Superstars or Main Event it's not like he's overexposed or really even has a "failed" push on his record. If they decided they wanted to make him the star coming out of the split I think they pretty easily could do so. He's not Kofi who has been around way too long to ever get above the I.C./U.S./Tag title scene.

I don't really think he's hurting the roster but on the flip side I don't think he's really a big draw for them. Do people who already watch the show get excited when he shows up on Raw? Yes. But I don't think that's really lead to some big spike in Network subs when there is a Lesnar match or a big increase in ticket sales to go see him live. They added him to to that upcoming house show in LA expecting him to sell a bunch of tickets but it hasn't worked out to the point where I just read this morning they are now offering free food and drink deals for people who buy tickets because ticket sales are so bad. But that's besides the point that having him just run through everyone in the Rumble and toss out all 29 of the other dudes WOULD make the rest of the roster look like shit. I don't think that would be very interesting, certainly not as interesting as him coming in at something like 22-23 with a ring full of people for him to contend with. The "Brock enters at #1 and tosses everyone out immediately" scenario would also kind of put a big damper on any surprise entrants they might have because you're not going to get to see them doing anything.

Some ideas sound good on paper until you walk through the whole execution of it. Just how many times is it going to be exciting to see Brock german suplex a scrub, hit an F-5 and throw them over the top rope? When the Rumble is going to be filled with mostly Adam Rose, Fandango, Tyler Breeze, R-Truth, Bo Dallas types it's really going to wear thin very quickly when you realize the Rumble is an hour long match.
  21. Yea I know. I just wanted to post the pics.

Lesnar being in the Rumble this year would be awesome. This would definitely NOT be and the only reason to do this is if they wanted to book a worse Rumble than last year's.
  23. Really don't see anything wrong with this:
