Yea Rey was pretty clearly the big draw for Smackdown house shows and ratings especially when you look at how badly things dropped off when they moved him to Raw and tried to make Randy Orton the anchor for SD.
-
I don't think they should put the belts on the Usos, I think the Lucha Dragons would be a better choice. They have overthought the Reigns thing so much they'll probably wait on having him beat Sheamus until the Rumble because he's "not over" enough yet despite the fact that part of the reason he's not over yet is they've booked him to keep failing.
-
This is the first PPV in a long time I'm actually going to watch. I expect Reigns/Sheamus to be a really good match with a shitty finish that will make me not watch anything until the Rumble.
-
So I wanted to see what the finish of this match was if these guys were such super warriors they could just no sell Tombstones and I couldn't stop laughing:
-
Why even do that kind of play by play for MMA? Seems like it's just going to make it that much harder for you to actually watch the fight and it really doesn't give more of a sense of how the fight is going than giving a quick summary between rounds.
-
I approve of this but I would also tell you to give Fujinami a chance. If I can get into him surely you can. If I was doing a singles ballot I would also probably put Onita on too.

There is no hidden "keep Roman strong lol" agenda. It's a simple cost analysis. Letting Bryan come back and having him get injured with another serious concussion would be more costly from a legal standpoint than the money to gain by having him come back and sell tickets & merchandise. Konstantine Kyros would have a field day with one of their top stars suffering permanent injury from concussions. EDIT: And for context let me drop in these snippets from Bryan's autobiography as for why I don't totally believe the things he's saying about his tests This is about him lying to the doctors during the WWE hiring process and how Nigel told the truth:
-
I find it very hard to believe that a guy with double digit concussions really has tests that come back better than someone without any history of concussions.

Things that make me love wrestling: Things that make me hate wrestling:

Bischoff has said he always saw Halloween Havoc as the biggest event of the year. The only time they ever really made Starrcade the biggest PPV of the year during the Bischoff era was 97.
-
Yea the whole "Robert Gibson sucked and was useless" thing is going WAY over board now if we're trying to compare him to Brutus Beefcake. Was Robert as talented as Ricky Morton? Obviously not. But he didn't SUCK.
-
It's too bad Roman Reigns couldn't have wrestled more matches like this against vastly superior Super Worker Seth Rollins so he could have learned to do more moves and stop wasting time with that old fashioned bullshit called selling.

[1983-09-09-Houston Wresting] Butch Reed vs Mr Wrestling II
goc replied to shoe's topic in September 1983
Watched this a few hours ago and really liked it too. I loved the opening stuff with 2 doing his usual odd movements to get in Reed's head and keep dodging away from him. 2 stayed on top for a lot longer than I expected but it was all really good and I liked the stuff with him holding on the front face lock and Reed trying to outsmart him by forcing him to break it by putting him on the top rope only for II to come off with a knee lift. Reed in 83-early 84 seemed to still be getting used to how to control a match as a heel and had a tendency to get a little dull especially in that match with Magnum TA. Here they kept things moving in the hold with 2 making a few rallies but Reed cheating to stay on top. I liked Reed trying to take out the knee to neutralize 2's big knee lift but I kind of didn't like the finish that much. I liked 2 hitting the knee lift but not being able to cover but felt like Reed needed to do more to actually put him down. I would have rather he hit that spear off the 2nd turnbuckle rather than just running the ropes but still this match is really good and definitely one everyone should watch. -
I feel like you guys are really late on the fact that I put up that Casas/Cota match about 5 months ago but then I'm not sure that I ever linked it here. I know I did at DVDVR.
-
If you have a game console you can also watch it on TV with that using the internal browser.
-
Who were the WWF midgets? I know there were some pretty good talents in that traveling troupe in the 80s like Little Tokyo and Cowboy Lang.
-
Shoutbox would definitely be cool for live shows or setting up a group watch of something on NWAClassics. I know there are some forums that have them already like the aforementioned one on WF.com.
-
One of these things is not like the other things. I've seen a lot of good midget matches. Not so much on George Steele or Moolah matches.
-
Holy shit JVK I thought you were joking when you linked that. It's KAYFABE NEWS! It's a freaking parody site. This is like if you were linking Onion stories like it was real news. I guess the other big news sites have so far missed this story:http://www.kayfabenews.com/helmsley-mcmahon-released-told-creative-nothing-authority/

I've been following this thing since the beginning and all of ONE person has talked about factoring in promos, accomplishments etc. in their rankings so this topic feels like a big over reaction to one person's criteria. I would think the fact that it hasn't come up until now would have made it obvious that it's not really an issue.

It hasn't stopped people on XWT-Classics.

Piper Goes Into Business For Himself, Havoc 1996
goc replied to The Following Contest's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yea but what is bad about that? I never understood why that was apparently some big no-no, it was one of the most iconic matches in history and it's not like people didn't know Warrior beat him. Hogan's point in the interview was that dredging it up meant it took some of the heat out of the build-up. Yea but that's just Hogan bullshit. I've seen that before he says something like "why would they want to see us wrestle again you already told them you could beat me?" which would essentially mean Hogan thinks no one ever wants to see rematches. Ever. -
