  1. The tag gauntlet on this week's show is really fucking terrible and long. Did I mention that it's long as fuck?
  2. I think Morton would probably still be considered active. Waltman is a little more borderline to me.
  3. I think most of them see it as a chance to set up shop and sell their merch. The $20 is just gas money to get there so you can hope to make a couple hundred selling shirts and 8x10s.
  4. You have to be in that top 5% of indy workers. Take Cedric Alexander. He was still working a day job while he was with RoH because he wasn't making enough. Most guys are making $20-30 a night and whatever gimmicks they can sell.
  5. Slightly off topic but I enjoy Impact a lot more than RoH TV currently.
  6. That was my thought but I don't know what defensive linemen were like size wise at the time.
  7. Some players just don't translate to the NFL. He would have probably played a full career in the USFL if it hadn't have gone under.
  8. It's his kind of match done really well.
  9. And he still can't let go of the Steen and Generico stuff no matter how successful they are on the big stage.
  10. This match was insane to me. It was my favorite match of the weekend. Like you said, just the fucking beating PCO took and the blatant disregard he showed for his own health. I loved how it was a cagey veteran showing the young dog that he wasn't as hot as he thought he was.
  11. He's a bad judge of modern talent for sure. The thing is, those JCP philosophies can work but they need to be laced with modern ideas. That's really what NXT does right now. Where I think he misses the mark is he bemoans the fact that fans are smart to the business now. But what he fails to see is this opened a lot of doors for the more meta and goofy shit like some of the PWG matches. When he was in RoH he was still doing shit like ether soaked rags or trying to sell guys as training MMA for a fake wrestling match. Cornette is a great historian and for an insight into what was going on at certain points and why things did or didn't work. But he doesn't understand the modern fan. He still thinks funny doesn't draw money when we've seen that's not true.
  12. He doesn't follow the product currently. He also has proven repeatedly since he took over the book in RoH that he has no idea what modern fans actually want or will pay for. He still thinks 1980s wrestling will sell. He doesn't realize that fans actually like the weird and funny stuff and that draws. It's ironic that he bitched about the Invisible Man and Spring Break 2 when that show probably packed more people in than he managed for his entire RoH run.
  13. I think the Eddie vs. Benoit thing looks different in hindsight. Eddie's last couple of years were absolutely amazing but think about it like someone in 2004. Benoit had been this super consistent guy for a decade while Eddie for various reasons wasn't very good from 1999-2002. At the time I would have easily voted Benoit for a HoF and would have wanted to see Eddie's play out a little more.
  14. That's mostly Cornette being out of touch. Any modern guy he goes out of his way to praise have been duds when given a main event push like Seth Rollins. I think Randy Orton falls into that, other workers always praise him because of his pedigree and fans could give a shit.
  15. I haven't seen a ton of Starr. I enjoyed his match with Quack but that match, to me, spoke more about Quack still being really good more than any takeaway I had about Starr.
  16. You're forgetting the amazing Virgil appearance. I was disappointed he wasn't in the Clusterfuck.
  17. He actually made the NWA Title feel important for a couple of years. I thought his feud with Colt Cabana felt big time and made the title seem important. I also thought his feud with Brent Albright was also really good.
  18. They don't have an app yet and I really struggle to get decent quality streaming out of it. I wrote in another thread that I think they managed to have a worse site to navigate than WWNLive does.
  19. It's really terrible to navigate. It's mostly all Sinclair era stuff but good luck getting to anything you want to see.
  20. Finding the shows to buy On Demand on their site was an exercise in frustration as well.
  21. No, Dave only gave it 4 1/4. Good. I don't really follow his ratings so I wasn't sure. That does get a lot of 5 star ratings thrown at it and I feel like it's because people try to justify sitting through an hour long match.
  22. Did the Iron Man with Bret and Shawn get 5? If so then it.
  23. From what I've seen of Gage, he's a complete nothing worker, *at best* (ok, he's just bad and he doesn't even have anything look-wise apart from being ugly), so that's not exactly setting my world on fire. Style Battle was everything indieriffic about indie wrestling. Worst show of the week-end thus far although Riddle is always fun (good match vs Anthony Henry). There was no one in the crowd either, which seems fitting. It's just them hitting each other with chairs and throwing each other through things in entertaining fashion. Nothing technical about it.
  24. They have to do something considering they are two years behind on releasing their shows.
  25. I'm not a Roman fan by any means but this is just stupid. How can you still have him as the guy after you just let him get shit on by the fans at Wrestlemania and then jobbed him to boot?
