  1. That's just a pointless money pit.
  2. It seems like this is the trap New Japan and DG keep falling into. People want a New Japan show in America. Not some New Japan talent mixed in with the usual indy names. We all know how that ends. They'll get lazy and it will just be the indy names after awhile with no New Japan talent.
  3. Jim Cornette really gets me with his "these young guys are exposing the business" when probably no one has done more to expose the business than Jim Cornette with all the shoots and stuff he's done.
  4. I just love him being a fucking weirdo. The matches are always good with Takahashi but I'm in it for his character.
  5. It's hard to tell how current he is. He'll go off on some shit that's years old like it's relevant. I think he watches a couple of things and then people send him things they know will piss him off.
  6. The Jim Cornette meltdown when Kenny Omega wins the IWGP Title is going to be pretty hilarious.

I couldn't tell because the one episode was still Texas but they were using footage of Lawler freaking out over losing the belt to King Cobra.
  8. Nashville using Glorious for their third period music has been cracking me up.
  9. I think the G-1 is more worth the sit through than BOSJ is. G-1 has more on the line and the matches are usually better top to bottom.

Do they have Memphis and Texas for 1990 or just Memphis?
  11. So... they think people want to pay probably $35 for Christopher Daniels vs. Cody Rhodes? Okay...

My subs: WWE Network - $9.99 New Japan World - $9.00 Chikaratopia - $7.99 Stardom - $7.00 So 4 dollars more a month and get complete access to these promotions and in the case of Chikaratopia, I get their entire back catalog and new shows for less than the price of a DVD. And I don't have subscriptions but you can also sign up for Wave Network and DDT Universe for $8 or less each and the DDT service has 5 or 6 smaller promotions on there.

I think where they're missing the mark, and RoH to a lesser extent, is that wrestling has been devalued by the streaming services. I'm a perfect example of that. If I can follow your promotion for $10 or less a month I'm going to pass. I have too many other quality options for $6-$10 a month. Why am I going to hand over $30 when I can put that money towards 3 or 4 other promotions and get more bang for my buck?
  14. I'm going based on memory. They were going to go dark for 4-6 weeks. They were going to come back with Joey Styles and Cyrus as the announce team. As far as I remember they were keeping the roster together. Steiner was taking out all the faces so they could be reintroduced after the restart. From what I remember they were going to get Rob Van Dam and a lot of the ECW guys. D'Lo Brown was also rumored to be jumping ship to WCW before the buyout. Those are the bits and pieces that I remember from the time.

$20 a month was on the high end. I pay about $30 now and that's for New Japan World, Stardom, Chikaratopia and WWE Network.
  16. You really have to change very little for Duggan. You can still turn around and do the disputed title change with Andre and the tournament at WMIV.
  17. Honest question, was Savage really a muscle head when he first won the belt? He seemed a bit smaller than a lot of other guys.
  18. I considered this option but ended up shying away. I think what you have to balance here is the value of the Million Dollar Man gimmick vs. Ted Dibiase doing his usual thing. I kind of felt Dibiase as the foil to whoever got the belt was a better value.
  19. The problem with Billy Jack Haynes is that he was used as being barely above a jobber on TV until you got to the Hercules feud. I've seen all of the TV from this time frame in the last few years and he didn't win much on TV at all.
  20. Savage is an easy turn. He comes out afterwards, shakes Steamboat's hand and saves him from a couple of attacks. He beats Andre at Saturday Night's Main Event in May and you can keep pushing the turn after the title win.
  21. The only outsider I can think of is Bruiser Brody. I don't know how he would work as a face or as champion though. Some other guys I thought of were Sgt. Slaughter or Jimmy Snuka.
  22. I think your best bets going forward are turning Savage face quicker after Mania or taking your chances with Duggan as champion. I guess you could have tried Jake Roberts too. I think turning Savage and having him win the belt in May is probably your best bet at continued survival. You can have him make defenses over the summer against Harley Race and Bob Orton. Then by the fall you have a nice group of challengers with One Man Gang and Ted DiBiase. Duggan is an interesting idea. He was really new at the time but I think they could have survived on Duggan making a defense or two against the Iron Sheik. Then you could get into Harley Race, Ted DiBiase and One Man Gang. Duggan vs. Kamala would have been interesting too. Duggan would have been unconventional but he wasn't a total cartoon character right off the bat either.

    WWE Backlash 2017

I don't care for the move but I just think Jinder is boring. I think I would find him more interesting if he just sucked in the ring. To me he's just unremarkable and average in every sense and boring.
  24. Let's go a little further down the card. What does Bret staying do to Edge and Christian and maybe even Jericho when he comes in. Do they get pulled into the Hart Foundation?
  25. Towards the end of 1998 I think is when he started getting headliner talk.
