In fairness to NOAH, Taue is insanely over. To bash them, if they were going to actually going to win the title it should've been last September when Kobashi's reign was starting to get old. Sacrificing your next big thing to an old timer is not smart booking. Especially when losing to Taue is a definate step behind beating Kobashi and Misawa.
I expect this to be a short reign. 1 defense max.
I would doubt it. They were only pulling 2s in 96 when the mid-card was an absolute mess. Jericho, Benoit and Christian by themselves might not be enough to get fans to leave but together they might.
I think the problem is that they don't view Benoit, Christian or Jericho as draws and that they can be replaced by generic OVW guys.
All that matters in the WWF right now is HHH, Michaels, Batista, Orton, the McMahons and JBL.
PWI said he's in talks and slightly and said there are some rumors that it might be a done deal already.
I've heard he'll probably get a similiar deal to Matt Hardy which is a six figure salary instead of per appearance and creative control.
Man, lowballing Benoit especially is a stupid idea. If anyone would love to go back to Japan it would be him.
Christian is also talking with TNA and might've signed according to PWI.
Also did they have any buyrate info for Bound For Glory?
Actually it came off really bad because they were essentially bashing BTM for showing Roberts like they just earlier in said DVD were talking about with the guy.
They were also trying to really get across that Vince would never let a worker work drunk and I about yelled bullshit at the screen.
The main feature is decent but it flies around wildly and it's hard to tell what year your supposed to be in. Vince and Lawler come across like giant douches for the 96 stuff.
EDIT: I have to add that I liked the Road Warriors feature better.
I could've done without ever seeing the Savage snake bite again and to top it off they showed the Halloween Havok bite too. I also like how they went out of their way to bury Beyond the Mat which was totally predictable.
After looking through everything I give the selection about a C+. A lot of garbage on there and it seems they're intentionally putting bad WCW stuff on there.
Also most of the stuff is on DVDs or can be found easily on a download network. Though I was really happy to see 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly vs. Bam Bam Bigelow and Tatanka. I love that match.
Good point. A lot of people went nuts for the Undertaker's shit in 99. Ugh...... 99 if it wasn't for the tag division in WCW I would've given up on wrestling then.
Excuse me, don't turn this thread into a bash America thread. Especially considering the WWF is doing more overseas shows because the American public isn't going to their shows anymore.
I feel completely confident saying that the last month of Raw was the worst month of wrestling tv ever. It's worse than anything WCW ever put out. Even that show where the first hour was backstage stuff.
Stop watching might be a good defense now that I think about it. The last month of tv has me firmly convinced that the WWF has no ability to get better now. Vince has lost his mind and when he dies Stephanie will chase every wrestling mind out of the fed.
I almost never tune into an actual match these days. I've tuned in for 30 minutes before to see the recap of something inring, see a bunch of backstage stuff and if I'm really lucky they'll just be introducing guys for a match by the end of the 30 minutes.
The last time I watched was that battle royal and for the first time since I can remember I could barely tell anyone apart in the match. Everyone in the WWF just looks the same to me anymore.
I haven't watched Raw since shortly after Mania. Before that it had been since 2001 that I didn't FF through huge portions of the show. I watch TNA and CMLL when it's on Galavision.
When I do tune in I'm almost immediately reminded of why I quit watching.
