  1. I was thinking that they'd really be onto something if they had Heenan join up as a co-manager with the Diamonds in the Rough.
  2. Because they helped Jarrett get the NWA Title back and decided money was the most important thing to them.
  3. ? They've done a lot with America's Most Wanted since the heel turn. They actually taken one of the most bland guys in James Storm and turned him into an awesome white trash heel that hasn't been seen in a long time.
  4. I don't remember seeing it posted but I'll add Ted Dibiase. Excellent face in Mid-South.
  5. I always felt kind of bad for the guy. Had he been born just a decade later he could've seen some serious pushes. He was just too small for the era he worked in.
  6. Yeah, he wrote some long tirade about All Japan cheating him out of $2000 and that he was calling it a career.
  7. I'm tempted to say Koko B. Ware. Not sure if he was really above average but he had to be doing something right to be as over as he was while never winning.
  8. Duggan had a lot of heel antics though. There were a lot of unjustified 2x4 attacks on various heels.
  9. That's WWF for you. Find a great talker like Morgan and then give him a gimmick where he can't use his promo skills. I think Morgan should be the highest on their list.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think HHH literally lays awake at night trying to figure out how to get the Ultimate Warrior back into the company so he can get that job back. HHH maybe the most petty guy I've ever seen.
  11. Shannon Moore is under contract I believe. He's been doing dark matches.
  12. I think they've said no thank you to a couple of the recent releases that want too much money. There have been 40 something releases in the last year and TNA's only brough in 6 or 7 so it's had to have happened. I know they gave Bucannon a tryout in 2003 and booted him the minute he complained about something.
  13. The thing that always impresses me with Carter is that she stresses constantly that they want to get there with the roster they have now. It's good to know they aren't going to suck up every release from the WWF.
  14. A lot of people are mistaken into believing that length equal quality. I'm not saying that here because I liked the 2nd match. It wasn't a winning forumla for me though because I find my enjoyment starts to decrease around the 45 minute mark unless it's a really good match. But I see a lot of "it was 60 minutes so it had to be good" type of statements attached to those types of matches. I think a lot of times someone is trying to justify how long they sat through something.
  15. You haven't been to hell until you've gone to a Smackdown taping and sat through a 27 minute Hardcore Holly/Booker T match.
  16. Batista was made mostly during the spring of 2004. It made him look capable in the ring. While he became extremely popular later on, you erase those quality tags and he might not have gotten to the heights that he did. Booker T is horrible now but he's nowhere near the levels of bad that Nathan Jones is. Booker T at least knew how to work at some point in the last couple of years. Also using Eddie isn't a fair example because he wasn't quite the carry artist that Benoit was.
  17. Compared to 2003 and 2004 he has declined. From the start of 2003 till his second Raw match with Orton you could stick him in the ring with anyone and he could give you a solid to good match. He made Nathan Jones look like a capable worker on more than one occasion and I'd argue he's the reason Batista is the champion today. During this era he'd be able to drag something, anything out of Booker T. The first match between them was almost painful to watch. It was like watching Muhammad Ali getting pummeled by Larry Holmes.
  18. It's odd that you write this. I was recently watching their first U.S. Title match and it made me really sad. It was sad to see two guys who were in the twilights of their career and putting on matches that were shells of what they did 7 years ago. I liked the Benoit/Regal match but it's really been a bad year for Benoit in the ring. I have a hard time even listing the more than a couple of memorable matches he had this year.
  19. Ok, I'm comfortable with the categories we have so far. Go ahead and vote away. I'll give you until December 15th to get ballots in.
  20. I actually don't hate everything RoH does. It's just they've done a lot to kill my interest in them since they gave the title to Punk in July. This match had a lot to overcome with me to begin with though because I haven't liked Kobashi's work since before his GHC Title run.
  21. It comes off as unnatural to me. Hogan/Rock is a good example of a crowd marking out for someone they hadn't seen in a long time. They just cheered for the guy and went insane for every move he did, The crowd during Joe/Kobashi came across like they were trying too hard to make it seem like an epic encounter no matter what.
  22. I'm watching Kobashi/Joe right now and I actually had to stop watching it for a few minutes because the fans completely took me out of it by chanting "this is awesome" like a minute into it.
  23. I've seen him before his WWF run and he wasn't very impressive. I don't know what these so called high spots were but asking him to get more complicated than a full nelson was asking for trouble.
  24. Could you PM that to me and edit that out of your post?
  25. I took MOTY off the list. I agree with goodhelmet that it isn't fair to the matches that happen in December.
