Yeah, but I don't think Roman is moving merchandise like Cena did or still does.

Cesaro has a higher ceiling, but I actually think he's the right answer as a gatekeeper of sorts. If he was healthy, they would have had him be the long man in the Rumble. The answer is someone who can alternate between the top of the card and the middle of the card easily, and I think Cesaro's your guy. Breeze would be a good one, Daniel Bryan was a great one before he got over to main event status, and they looked like they were going to do it again with him and the IC title before he got hurt again. I think in about a year the answer would probably be Sami Zayn.

So, AJ Styles is really, really small.

We really having the height argument in 2016? Seriously? -
Obviously gonna be HHH/Roman for the title, along with Brock/Wyatt and Owens/Sami. I hate it, but I feel like they have Jericho/Styles in the can at this point, too.
-
Nah, they set up him vs. Sami. Can't believe they had some of the more awesome spots they did with so much bullshit.
-
His candidacy really only works with his run during the boom. If you enjoyed it, there's a good chance the argument works. If you thought it was overrated, like many I know do, then you're probably gonna think it's a joke he's nominated. I will say this, though. At the time, he was a shot in the arm for people looking for a new hot wrestler to follow since the numbers he was doing made the WO and others have to look at him a bit closely. I don't think he has enough for a list like this, because even if you do like what he did during the boom, I don't think it's enough to put him in a Top 100.

For those interested in the betting side, all the money is going towards HHH winning the title, as his odds have become even better than 50% in some circles. I think the money could be on Bray winning because it would at least set something new up for WM, but Vince probably thinks HHH/Roman up top is his best draw right now. Which is really sad considering his NXT standing is totally cannibalizing his supposed heel persona. It's like Vince is being doubly ignorant.

Best squash tag team of all time. Would rather watch them squash guys then have competitive matches. Don't think it gets them on a list like this, though.

So looking back, I think the dynamic is fantastic but the matches aren't. They had some really fun stuff with the Briscoes, but I don't think you can point to a match of theirs where you say, "THAT was a fantastic match." They always seemed like a team that should have done better together than they did.
-
Thought their run was a lot longer for some reason, but they were fine. I don't think they are a Top 25 team, but they were definitely good and it kept Kyoko's bullshit to a minimum in a lot of ways.
-
The Baba/Rusher match is an all-timer, but I don't think they have nearly enough to make a list like this.
-
I'll consider them, and the Chosyu/Yatsu stuff was definitely great, but if I were to compare the two, I'd take Chosyu and Yatsu over them. That might be enough to keep them out of the running.

Hokuto will probably stand above the rest for me, but Kong and Jaguar will be right there with her. I don't think Toyota will make my Top 100 list, but she'll definitely be there with Yamada on the tag list. Same with Kansai and Ozaki. I think I might find room for Chigusa, too. Kandori is interesting because her high-end stuff is REALLY good, but there's not a lot of it. I really want to put Meiko on the list, too, but I have a feeling when I make the list she'll be in the 125 range or so. Kudo might be in the most emotional joshi match of all time with the Toyoda Retirement match, and her deathmatches were quite compelling along with her tag work, but I don't think she'll have enough. Bull Nakano, though...I struggle with what to do with her. It's easy to see she's a dynamic worker, she's been in some top flight matches with Aja, had the really fun Kyoko stuff and can be considered good basically since she started working full-time with Dump's army, but I don't think she hits the highs that some of the others do. There's not a lot of Bull matches that make me think I have to see them. She seems like a candidate with a lot of great stuff, but nothing that I would consider as good as say, Kong/Toyota from Big Egg. Or even some of the best Kong/Meiko stuff. She's got perhaps the largest range out of any of these where she could fall, and part of that list might be at the end of my Top 100.

SST was definitely the best I saw. Goldberg was cool just because you got to see him evolve, too. Sid made me smile, too, because when he was a face, he was over as all hell.

I still think the money is on a Bryan return. Him getting cleared at UCLA is no red herring, and he could easily be cleared the day of. That being said, I can imagine him getting eliminated for the third year in a row in a way where the backlash is palpable. I think Ambrose and Owens will go all out in the IC Title match, but they dicked everyone by having Kalisto win and drop the title. Women's match might be pretty good, too, but there's nothing about this card that screams worthwhile.

BRAINBUSTER 8: THE FARCE AWAKENS

Yelled "STING!" about a dozen times to Parv on Starrcade 88. -
Vince is so scared of an injury to Bryan happening on his watch that he's doing everything he can not to clear him, it seems. Especially considering how bad that doctor's rep is. This does seem similar to the Kurt Angle situation Loss alluded to earlier. Bryan as a surprise entrant to the Rumble would be insane, and if you think about it, him getting cleared by the UCLA doctor could mean that Bryan goes, gets cleared the day off, and then he could win the whole thing. Then you could do Bryan/Reigns at WM32, and you have something people actually want to see. One thing I just don't get at all is how HHH has to get his match with Reigns at WM, as basically a heel, when for the last six months, he's built up the most goodwill from fans due to NXT than he has perhaps in his entire career. It just makes zero sense to put him on top against Roman, but considering what Vince thinks, it doesn't matter. I'm still betting on some type of NXT takeover. It would save the show in a lot of ways.

Well, looks like I have to prove myself again in 2016 for best announcer. -
Because he was so big in Texas...this also basically takes Taker out of the running. Unless they try and set it up for next year.

Her work really only came as a tag team with LCO, but she had some crackers. Don't think she has enough overall for a Top 100, though.
