  1. I just rewatched this to see if my views on this match had changed after seeing the Liger/Honaga series from 1991. And this was definitely a different match from those in the sense that the feud was clearly over and this was more of a one-off than a continuation of that. But I still loved it just as much as I did the first time. I also watched Liger/Pegasus from two days later and the matches are definitely an interesting comparison because they are laid out almost exactly the same. The Honaga match has more attitude. The Benoit match has more athleticism. But they are basically the same template. I think this really comes down to personal tastes, because from what I can tell, there isn't a huge gap between the matches. It's all about what excites us individually as wrestling fans. In my view, they are equally great, but for different reasons. I think I'm going to compare/contrast these in the e-book, and I would recommend that anyone who wants to watch either match just watches both next to each other because it makes for really interesting side-by-side viewing.

  3. The Horsemen were racists, though.
  4. I wonder how much they spend every year flying Stephanie home on the jet after TV.
  5. IF NOT ____, THEN WHO?
  6. I would have thought it was a play on wrestling words, as in over the top rope.
  7. Yes, I think Bix hit every point exceptionally well.
  8. Were they marketing to children for Cena's entire run or did that direction only start after the Benoit incident? Honest question. It was before that for sure. It was part of the reason for the initial backlash, which started in 2005.
  9. Well, within the WWE style, Mark Henry and Regal aren't known for their 30-minute MOTYC epics. Neither is Orton really, but that's the rep he has.
  10. Randy Orton sure is a valid choice.
  11. How do Bobby Lashley and Batista get repackaged in a way where they can sell massive amounts of merchandise to children? I don't think it's impossible, I'm just curious everyone's thoughts on that. This is why I think Rey is the best bet, as he was also a significant draw in terms of bringing in an entire new demographic that basically stopped watching when he stopped getting pushed as a top guy.
  12. I think deep down I knew the truth, but I was able to convince myself as a kid that wrestling was every bit as real as my attraction to girls.
  13. Actually, the WON has been pointing all year to Night of Champions as the big show, since that's closer to the time subscriptions expire. They plan to load up that show even more than Summerslam.
  14. Cena was also doing something at the time where he was promising to main event Wrestlemania XX.
  15. Yeah, I think Rey is the answer. You need someone who can sell merchandise and draw kids. Sane Jeff Hardy is another choice.
  16. I don't see the earliest WWF Magazine commercial online, which is unfortunate, as it's a pretty cool piece of history.
