Don't skip AJ vs Kaitlyn, their match at Payback was very good.

To be fair, based on legal advice neither could really talk about anything having to do with Owen and I don't think Bret knew the degree of negligence yet. Though I don't remember why they decided to have that talk anyway.

You forgot to add in "amirite" at the end.

In Bret's defense, he's not saying that he invented the ladder match. But, rather he brought the concept to the WWF, which seems to be true. And when he pitched it to Vince, he got Vince to promise not to use it for anyone else. The dark match that ended up on Coliseum Video was the proof of concept and the idea was they'd do it at Summerslam '92 if the show was in DC instead of London.

ROH is lacking Vader Claus.

Noooooooo Although Dave and Bryan's quiet resignation that they had let the show snowball into something awful that wasn't my or any other caller's faults was pretty great.

Yeah but I would imagine WWE locker rooms now are practically churches compared to what he's seen. I agree with this. I interviewed Jimmy Jacobs for a Highspots project 4-5 months ago and he said all the guys he knows who are there talk about how the road is boring nowadays - nobody parties at all, they just play with their iPads and watch movies and stuff like that. Reminds me of this article by Bix: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/905233-...t-valid-in-2011 You may have been worked, friend. I don't think Jacobs is going to bury his friends by saying they do drugs with the wellness policy still in effect. I kind of forgot about that. Shaun Assael even replied to my email about it. He understood why people were upset and agreed he could've handled it much better but he needed a way to quickly explain that the drug culture used to be much worse.

Rick Steiner has slowly morphed into Keiji Mutoh.

Not a neurologist but going off what I was ever told it seemed to be both a one off and temporary issue. Her injury had to do with her Wrestling while doing bodybuilding competitions, being so depleted and with the nerve endings on her face being exposed. Rather just being naturally susceptible to brain trauma like someone who suffered concussions might be. Again she worked as an airhostess since her injures and has done all these crazy physical pursuits without any re-occurrence of the symptoms she had - dizziness and her ears ringing constantly. By depleted do you mean dehydrated? If so, yeah, that's super dangerous. Less fluid protecting the brain.

Hey, it's Lance Russell's WCW voice! Was Sullivan already feuding with Norman or is his involvement a wink wink shooty shoot deal?

[1990-01-04-AJW] Akira Hokuto & Yumiko Hotta vs Toshiyo Yamada & Etsuko Mita
Bix replied to Loss's topic in January 1990
I couldn't get into this. Yumiko Hotta worked distractingly light, and not just by her standards. Dream Orca is a weird name even AJW English standards. The blown near fall at the end was really messy. And Akira Hokuto has mom hair. AJW is definitely in a transitional period here. There are plenty of male fans but they're not reacting to anything. The teen girls are LOUD though.- 21 replies

[1990-WWA] El Hijo del Santo & Blue Demon Jr vs Eddy & Mando Guerrero
Bix replied to Loss's topic in January 1990
Fun but disappointing. The obviously canned commentary messed up the presentation for me since it was theoretically a hot angle.- 21 replies

For a match I loved when I first saw it, this holds up really well. As good as the work was throughout, Casas's bump off a Hamada headbutt was a highlight. He flew backwards face down and it was glorious. As were his socks.

Good run to the finish but the bulk of this felt like an exhibition of literally all of The Fantastics' trademark spots.

It didn't help that the interviewing itself was kind of awful. Maybe I should reach out to her for a podcast? I didn't read the teacher to Chris stuff the way you did, since she was making a larger point about how he really had no interests outside of wrestling to the point she had to try to steer him towards various types of entertainment. The Kevin thing...maybe. And she's not really hiding that Chris and Nancy were supporting her. In case anyone's wondering, the Nancy & Daniel Benoit Foundation isn't rated by Charity Navigator because it's not required to file a certain form that I THINK is due to its small size (taking in less than $25,000/year): http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?...p;ein=260683522

Texas Wrestling Wrestling Culture Podcast Question
Bix replied to Smack2k's topic in Publications and Podcasts
1. Championship Wrestling live on WMC in Memphis, Championship Sports on KTVT Ft. Worth, and USWA Challenge in syndication.2. Release of the 1990 Dallas set used for the yearbook. Some syndicated TV was around but the KTVT was nonexistent.
