I think you're underselling him Parv because the guy has gotten over in ROH,PWG,Evolve and plenty of other places.

He was a guy who always worked hard. It just didn't translate into great matches all the time. Won't sniff my 100.

Memories from the video rental store
shoe replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
I remember going from store to store buying original VHS tapes for like 5 bucks a tape because no one was renting them. It was my start as a collector. -
Everyone has their wheel houses.Part of the problem with the Observer HOF is some of the voters. Their are a lot of qualified voters. Some aren't and don't know the difference between a top flight candidate, and the pretenders. Going back and looking at old footage is very beneficial to being able to analyze wrestling. Seeing what worked and what didn't. How work has evolved through the years. Did wrestler x deserve their rep. When it comes to viewing we all have our blindspots. I'm really weak in Lucha,Joshi along with others. Parv has plenty of self confessed blindspots. Roderick Strong in my opinion is having the 2nd best production between the ropes this year. It wouldn't surprise me if Parv couldn't pick him out of a lineup.

O'Reilly vs Kamatsu These guys worked a really good match with both of their strengths on display. We start with some counter wrestling. O'Reilly in control with the arm mixed in with some good strikes. Komatsu on a comeback. We see him with a running drop kick to the outside. Back in a great spot that had tons of drama O'Reilly does a Butterfly Suplex into A Fujiwara Arm Bar where he switches to the other arm. The drama was tremendous here. Komatsu was great in this match bringing energy, and selling all of O'Reilly's offense. Wrestlers must look at him like a pork chop. The finish was a bit underwhelming after the drama of the Fujiwara. 3 1/4* Mascara Dorada vs Tiger Mask At this point In the tourney I thought Tiger Mask was the worst wrestler even behind Taguchi. His efforts have been bad. Here he tried a lot harder and as a result he had a good match. Dorada of course worked his ass off with big dives and innovative spots. They had a fun finishing sequence that worked for me. I thought TM looked pretty smooth here. 3* Liger vs Owens These guys have worked a bit together before. This is by far the best Owens has looked. He still lacks charisma though. Owens worked as a total heel and Liger as a face so we had a great dynamic. We got an early shine for Liger and he was great. Owens working the back was well done and made sense in the match. My favorite part was inverted Figure 4 that Liger sold huge and they built up brilliantly with the drama. Liger teasing the tap out was so great, Liger teases a comeback that Owens cuts off and goes over with his finish. 3 1/4*

Miz is low hanging fruit. Bobby Riggs would have voted for Charlotte. LMAO...Bobby Riggs is a great man.
-
I voted Charlotte and I was called out on a podcast recently as a wrestling sexist.

You can't make that case. Only one or 2 guys are in based on work rate. Kane isn't one of the best 2 workers of his era.
-
The WOHOF is all about pushes, and what they did with their pushes that made them HOF material.
-
Their are other candidates to get behind . Like Ivan Koloff and Sgt. Slaughter .
-
I think you're overstating his case based on being a big man. Being a big man has no bearing on his HOF candidacy unless he was influential. He wasn't He was less of a draw than Austin, Rock, HHH,Foley,Taker, Cena. He was never the guy in the promotion.
-
I go no. When he drew he was just part of the package. Plenty of other guys from his era higher on the pecking order.

I believe Finlay is part of the NJ dojo. So the dude is going to improve ten fold.

I live in Boston so you piqued my interest when you threw out NESN, but doing some digging it is on NESN National, which is NESN for the rest out of the country outside of New England (since Red Sox Nation is a national phenomenon and New England transplants live everywhere). I checked NESN listings here and there was nothing at the mentioned times of midnight on any day. Oh well, I still have Destination America. Did you really put over the DFL Red Sox that are 21-26?
-
I'd say Rude/Sting some of the matches were good . Though for the most part the big ones were underwhelming. I'm referring to the singles matches.
-
Their is nothing wrong with that.
-
From Observer audio Destination America will have no input in creative.

Gedo vs Cavenario This was good. Gedo has a charisma that gets matches over. His style stands out in comparison to the others. The guys have good chemistry. Cavenario plays well off of Gedo. I wish Gedo gave Cavenario more in the match. 2 1/2* Kushida vs Finlay This was good stuff. I liked how both guys worked the arm. Finlay needs to learn more types of reactions. Finlay is showing promise. Kushida was tremendous and his arm work was nasty. The finish was great. 3* Romero vs N. Jackson I really liked this how they straddled the line between comedy and seriousness. The end result was a really entertaining match. 3* Taguchi vs Barretta This was very comedy based, and Barretta has a lot of experience working that style. I much prefer Taguchi in 6 mans. 2 1/4*

NJPW could benefit from their relationship with ROH. NJPW really should shoot commercials with the Bullet Club or Okada and push their streaming service for Destination America. ROH could really beef up their service and push it hard.Destination America isn't huge, but could help with ppv buys,I-PPV, and their VOD service. They can push the idea of going on tour with them without leaving your living rooms. Plus we have a company not trying to be WWE.

This is according to the Observer site. It will be interesting to see how or if this helps ROH.

Of all the Young Lions Komatsu really impresses me. Jay White is right on his tail though.

Fish had a great showing, just nothing to work with. I've been lucky with the weather. In Austin I'm fine. I was Houston from Saturday -Tuesday and besides trying to get home from the Rocket game I've been pretty clear of the really bad stuff. The rain has been the pits.
