  1. That finish. It doesn't get worse than that does it?
  2. Progress Super Strong Style Night 2 continued Strong vs Ospreay 3 1/4* Sabre Jr. vs Scrull 4 * Sabre Jr. vs Ospreay. 3 1/2* Night 2 had really good wrestling up and down the card. Sabre Jr. was MVP . It's worth checking out. Progress did a good job here. I had written some thoughts but did a power nap and my finger was on the delete key. lol
  3. Agreed, actually any babyface.
  4. Steve I'm not anti ad. I got a chuckle that Parv kept on pitching the ads in question to Chad when Chad had no background on them. Chad wasn't old enough at the time the ads aired to discuss the ads or use the product.
  5. Correction on the Dusty tribute. Looks like Monday.
  6. Progress Super Strong 16 Night 2 Will Ospreay vs Mark Haskins A pretty fun match. I enjoy both wrestlers. They're cutting a pace with a lot of hot moves. Finally Haskin's targets the leg. Ospreay should slow down a peg, and let his hot moves breathe. Ospreay has a lot of talent. He's had really good matches this year with good wrestlers like Styles, and Matt Sydal. Those 2 were able to reign in Will Ospreay. Haskins was good, and the match was good. I was bothered by Ospreay's comeback and not giving Haskins enough time to get heat on him The false finishes was over kill. 2 3/4* Roderick Strong vs Rampage Brown Strong just stalling like a pro trying to control this snarky crowd. Strong working the back. I like Strong slowing the pace to shut this crowd down.I thought the crowd actively took away from the match. 2 1/2* Marty Scrull vs Dave Mastiff This will be a styles clash and a good barometer of how good Scrull is. Big vertical suplex that the crowd chants we lost count. Nasty running dropkick by Mastiff. Scrull attempting to get heat on Mastiff was fun. Scrull using foot stomps are smart. This really is an entertaining match. They made the styles clash work 2 3/4* Zach Sabre Jr. vs Tomasso Ciampa Some real good chain wrestling to start. Sabre Jr. with some flashy offense. Ciampa with a running knee strike to turn the tide.Ciampa beatimg him down. Sabre Jr. hooks in a submission that Ciampa escapes. Sabre after the arm. Ciampa cuts him off. Sabre makes a comeback with kicks to the arm. Fujiwara by Sabre and Ciampa makes the ropes. Big knee by Ciampa. This is boiling down to the striking of Ciampa vs Sabre's arm work. Loved Ciampa's counter into the knees. Strike exchange of course Ciampa has the advantage, but Sabre Jr. gets a submission out of nowhere. 3 1/4* I'll finish this later

  9. Will did some top flight trolling on the Lyle Alzado front as well.
  10. Other great moments that Parv and Chad did in the early days were doing the commercial segments. So we had a Brit, who's never seen them pitching to Chad to explain them when Chad was only 5 when they aired. I think the record was 7 in a row of neither guy being familiar with the product. The finishing touch was Parv asking Chad if he thought the product that Chad has no memory of was still used or made to this day.
  11. I think I'd go Kobashi in 98. He had a lot of great performances. My dark horse pick would be Tamura who feels like a Brock Lesnar pick.
  12. It looks like they have a Dusty Rhodes special planned for Thursday.
  13. Kushida vs O'Reilly BOTSJ Finals O'Reilly really has an opportunity to show a huge audience what a great worker he is. Kushida reminds me a lot of Rey Jr. I think besides Nakamura, Kushida is a guy who could get over huge in the States. We're mat wrestling to start. The struggle here is well done. O'Reilly going after the arm, and he's bringing new stuff to the dance here. O'Reilly is really torturing him on the mat. Kushida is doing his part selling underneath. Kushida after the arm. Kushida mounts a comeback. Going after Kyle's arm, reversal. Front guillotine by Kyle. Kushida reverses. Kyle with a flying arm breaker from the top. Kushida with a German than a Dragon Suplex. Kushida again ripping at the arm. Kyle counters with a sleeper. Flip dive by Kushida. Holy Moly Kushida does a moonsault into a triangle. Everything goes back to the arm. Kyle with a belly to back suplex from the top. A strike exchange that leads to some suplex throw by Kyle. The drama here is off the charts. Both wrestlers are just bringing it. Look at these guys selling the arms. Kushida with a vertical suplex on the apron. Fish has been a great 2nd. What a match. My complaint is they could have wrapped it up between 3-5 earlier. 4 1/4*
  14. I finally watched Cena vs Owens 5/31/15. This was fantastic. I loved how it built and built. My only complaint the finish felt abrupt. 4 1/4*
  15. Just wow .
  16. Did the Bob Evans killing Cheeseburger angle air yet? Just aired.
  17. The Liger vs Dalton Castle match on this weeks tv was a blast. Both guys showing off their charisma. When Liger did the rolling senton and brought Castle's boys in the ring to pose got a huge pop out of me.
  18. I like Cheeseburger on the card. It's good to have a comedy match especially since it's much different than the rest of the matches usually on a ROH card. Him, Beer City Buiser, Romantic Touch types are necessary . Though in regard to Memphis Marks point you really at most only want 2 matches at most with those guys on the card.
  19. Evolve 44 Gargano vs Ethan Page Gargano is a guy I've seen get a lot of praise. I personally don't get him. He seems like a guy who falls into the flashy/cool moves club, but lacks the story telling skills to use those moves to put together engaging matches on a consistent basis. Page is a guy who's suited better as a tag worker. This is booked as a heated feud and Page wearing a fireman's helmet to the ring doesn't translate that. A little back and forth to start. A big punch by Page turns the tide momentarily. Gargano is on top, but seems to be doing stuff to do stuff. Loved Page using the ref as a human shield. Page slingshots Gargano into the post. Page using his weight to his advantage and begins focusing on the back. Page's heat segment is much more focused than Gargano's. Gargano's comeback seems too early, especially since he teased it twice already. Gargano on top for a bit. Page cuts him off and we get a strike exchange that feels phony. Gargano with a Tope' Suicida. Nice counter by Gargano into a submission. We build to the finish. The string finish played into their feud. Overall, pretty dissapointing. 2 1/2* Swann vs Lee Swann I like in a tag team. Lee is a guy who's gained a rep for himself. I think they might have problems since both guys are better working underneath. We get mirror rope running spots. Actually this transpired how I feared it would. 2 1/4* Horrus vs Williams This is fun stuff early. I'm enjoying the styles clash early. This is lucha mat work versus a more traditional approach was great while it happened. The finish came out of nowhere. 2 1/2* Perkins/Horrus vs Premier Athlete Brand Perkins is looking great early. The PAB is shining up the faces real good. Horrus with a big time flip dive. So Cal Val interference spot sets up the heat on Horrus. Horrus is FIP and gets worked over. Finally Horrus gets the hot tag to Perkins. He's all over and kicking ass. He brings Horrus in on a double team move which needs to be a finisher. They start build to a finish. A lot of stuff is happening down the stretch including So Cal Val getting panced. Horrus looked the most dynamic he's looked here in these 2 matches. He seems to be progressing. 2 1/2* Bailey vs Busick Both guys are making a name for themselves. Bailey has an underdog look. Bailey in control early. We get some counters of counters that leaves Busick on top. He controls from the headlock and the mount. Bailey shows good fire underneath. Bailey uses his elbows to block Bailey's kicks. We get some back and forth rope running strikes. This has more of a showcase feel to it than a match until that nasty finish.. A nasty 1/2 and 1/2 on the ring apron by Busick. Running lariat by Busick. Nasty finishing sequence. The purpose of the match was to get Bailey over , and for Busick to look strong at the finish. 3* Gulak vs Richards This is both guys trying to get the advantage. Each guy targeting the leg. It had a real game of chess feel to it. Richards was pretty good selling the damage to the leg. 3* Galloway vs Strong Strong has had an amazing 1/2 year in the ring. Galloway has had a good one too. A super intense lock up to start. Mat wrestling now. Rope run ning, and a big drop kick by Strong in the face. Strong after the taped arm. Galloway kicking him away. Big knee by Strong followed by an Olympic slam. Chop off, and a kick by Strong. Back to the arm by Strong. A big kick to the shoulder by Strong. Big boot by Galloway, followed by a wheellbasrrow slam. A battle on the apron. Back breaker on the apron by Strong. Strike exchange on the floor. Running knee strikes by Strong. These guys have been in a battle. Piledriver and a dbl arm DDT by Galloway. Galloway hits 5 dbl arm DDT's in a row for the win. The body of the match was really good. The finish was a bit over kill. 3 1/4*
  20. If it's not for you cool, but it does good numbers, been praised a lot on the board and on Joe Gagne's recaps has gotten best of the week I think 2 out of the 4 . Some one can correct me though. Flair is getting more comfortable each week.
  21. You quoted me before I put the LOL in my rebuttal.
  22. Steven your little MOTYC in your signature, besides Sasha/Lynch I have all those matches in my top 10-20. So than if my ratings are whack then your 1.2.4, and 5th rated match of the year is whack. So in essence your ratings are whack too. Or the reality of the situation is we do agree on a lot of stuff in wrestling, but we'll have differences of opinions too. For example, those matches. I prefer Ric Flair to Bret Hart. I am in the camp of Arn Anderson is better than X-Pac. You like Don Muraco as a wrestler way more than I ever will. Hell liking Don Muraco discredits you much more than any way I rate a match. LOL
  23. Do you plan on reviewing his hour draw with Lawler?
  24. Loved hearing Dave crapping on Elgin on his audio making the G1. Both of us wanting Strong.
