  1. Never drew money, it was where it aired tv.
  2. Checkerdome in St. Louis.
  3. Sam Houston Colliseum
  4. I'd like to see Dylan's takes on Steiners vs Sting/Luger Superbrawl Steiners vs Hase/Sasaki from the Dome in 91 The 2 Flair vs Fujinami matches that you covered on WTBBP I thought you were generous on those matches.
  5. In a perfect world Parv would have loved LA Park and changed his board name to LA Parv. Oh well I can dream.
  6. Baretta vs Komatsu Komatsu is over pretty big here. Whenever he gets a win over an established star the building will rock. Both guys are really pushing the action. Komatsu's 1/2 crab is over as a finisher. A flying stomp from Baretta. A nasty Death Valley Driver on the apron by Baretta. Trading of near falls down the stretch. Komatsu really had a ton of fire in the match.Baretta's body language really puts over Komatsu well post match. 3* Tiger Mask vs Finlay This was solid. Nothing out of the ordinary 2* Liger vs Cavenario Cavenario is really wanting to have a good match with Liger. They get a ton of time, but have a fun match. 2 1/2* Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tomoaki Honma, Hirooki Goto, Togi Makabe and Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Yoshi Hashi, Kazushi Sakuraba, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii These 10 man tags stand out much more than on the normal houseshows since they aren't sandwiched between other 6 man and 8 man tags. We get the norm of everyone pairing off and working spots with a partner. They get heat on Tanahashi. He's a good FIP, and shows fight. We get a hot tag to Shibata who's tremendous in that role. Soon enough Sakuraba catches him in some submissions, and they do some reversals. We get some more pairing off . a lot of back and forth action. Overall good stuff. 3 1/4* Romero vs Dorada Some fun antics early. Romero is working on top giving Dorada some hope spots. A huge dive by Dorada. Romero going after the arm. Overall fun stuff. 3* Fish vs Nick Jackson I loved the Jackson/Hall/Fish spot. Jackson does a good job incorporating Hall in his heat segment. At times the match got a little too cute for me. I liked Fish targeting the leg on his comeback. 2 3/4* O'Reilly vs Gedo Kyle going after that arm early. He's just destroying it and Gedo is selling it big. Kyle's work on top has been superb and Gedo is getting a lot of sympathy from the crowd. Gedo starts a comeback and is cut off quickly. He tries again and targets the leg. Gedo is like ok you fucked up my arm, I'm going to fuck your leg up bad. In a great moment of drama Kyle has an armbar and Gedo's selling death till he was able to make the ropes. Both guys are bringing and old school mentality here. Kyle's selling post move of the leg was great. The build to the finish was pretty great. If you're a fan of limb work this match is a master class. 4* Taguchi vs Owens Taguchi needs this win to get into the finals. I still can't believe he's doing comedy on such an important match. Owens work on the neck is smart. Big dive by Taguchi and major props for Young Boy Tanaka for the assist on the catch. In a great spot that they didn't play the drama up was Taguchi catching Owens in the ankle lock. This has built into a pretty fun match. Both guys working real hard. A 2nd package piledriver makes it a Kushida vs O'Reilly final that I wanted. 3 1/2* Overall a fun show that leads to the Finals on Sunday Morning. Jushin Liger & Sho Tanaka vs. Ryusuke Taguchi & Yohei Komatsu Tiger Mask vs. Chase Owens Mascara Dorada vs. Barbaro Cavenario (first-ever singles match) Bobby Fish vs. Barreta Nick Jackson vs. Rocky Romero Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima & Tomoaki Honma vs. Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi & David Finlay Kazuchika Okada & Gedo vs. Yujiro Takahashi & Cody Hall Hiroshi Tanahashi & Hirooki Goto & Togi Makabe & Katsuyori Shibata & Captain New Japan vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano & Kazushi Sakuraba & Yoshi-Hashi BOSJ Finals: Kushida vs. Kyle O'Reilly Final standings Block A Block B Kyle O'Reilly 12 Kushida 12 Ryusuke Taguchi 10 Bobby Fish 10 Baretta 8 Máscara Dorada 10 Chase Owens 8 Rocky Romero 8 Jushin Thunder Liger 8 Tiger Mask IV 8 Bárbaro Cavernario 6 Nick Jackson 6 Gedo 4 Alex Shelley (withdrew) 2 Yohei Komatsu 0 David Finlay 0
  7. Fish vs Finlay Some basic mat wrestling to start. Finlay with a nasty European forearm. We get some fun strike exchanges. Fish's leg work was solid and played into the finish. 2* Cavenario vs Komatsu Komatsu's head scissor was a little off. The both guy's timing seem a bit off early. Cavenario with a bitchin Silver King dive. Cavenario's front guillotine/armlock suplex is awesome. They seem to be on the same page now.I liked how Cavenario's back work payed off. Overall they have a fun match. 2 1/2* O'Reilly vs Owens Some fun mat wrestling to start. I like O'Reilly controlling the match with a headlock. Owens tried a headlock, O'Reilly blocks it and hit his own headlock. In a fun comedy spot Kyle goes around the ring high fiving fans with Owens in the headlock. Owens breaks free and sets up the heat segment. In a nice hope spot for Kyle he gets a front guillotine. O'Reilly makes a comeback that is short lived. Didn't like Kyle's no sell of Owen's nasty foeearm. Overall, this was a good match.Loved O'Reilly's counter of the package piledriver into a front guillotine. 3 1/4* Dorada vs N. Jackson I like seeing Nick work Lucha spots with Dorada. Nicks heat segment was fun, comedy mixed with high spots. Dorada's shine starts with a nasty bullet Tope'. Jackson cuts it off rather quickly with a super kick. Dorada follows up on a Nick Jackson miscue and delivers a rana from the apron to the floor. I thought Nicks 2nd time cutting off Dorada was a little sudden after that nasty rana. A Jackson miscue leads to a top rope Michinoku Driver for Dorada's win. Jackson took 80%. This allowed Dorada's high spots to really get over. A real fun match. 3 1//4* This was a better show than the previous one. The final 2 matches are worth your time.
  8. Gedo vs Baretta I really like the building they're working in. This really isn't resonating with me at all. At least it was inoffensive and short. 1 3/4* Liger vs Taguchi Taguchi on the best of times can test your nerves. In a tournament format it's deadly. When Liger was on offensive it was entertaining. 2 1/4* Kushida vs Romero They start out with some fun stuff. They've worked each other plenty so they should be able to have a good match. Romero's heat segment is fun, and sets up the story of hurting Kushida's arm. Romero is working Kushida smarter than Fish because Romero's arm work won't hurt Kushida's comeback like Fish's leg work did. Loved Romero's top rope arm breaker. Kushida makes a comeback with a huge dive to the floor. I love Kushida's Nomo forearm. Another fun finish. 3 1/2* Watch the main. Everything else you can miss.
  9. I thought Pillman in 90 losing to Flair really helped elevate him and even to Luger in 89.
  10. Misterio Jr. @ GAB 96.
  11. Romero vs Finlay Basic wrestling to start. They keep it interesting. Romero sells a dinged ankle on landing wrong on a Monkey Flip. We've seen this a few times in the tourney from a few of the wrestlers. Finlay works the leg. His Stretch Muffler looked pretty good. A solid match 2 1/2* Komatsu vs Taguchi Sure Komatsu hasn't won a match, but he really seems ready. This rope running sequence is a thing of beauty. A forearm to Taguchi's ass. Taguchi sneaks in a dive to the outside. This has been solid stuff. Komatsu's 1/2 crab is over., 2 1/2* Cavenario vs O'Reilly O'Reilly with a barrage of strike early. Cavenario turns the tides with a huge dive. A real fun rope running spot. O'Reilly cuts him off and targets the back. He moves to the arm. Man started out hot and kind of petered out . 2 1/2* Dorada vs Fish I like both of these guys so lets hope they gel and have a good match. Some quick action to start. Fish working the mat. Dorada going for a high spot kill.Fish counters a Dorada spot. Finally Dorada hits a big dive. Fish on comeback. Pretty much another solid macth 2 /2* Overall just a solid show.
  12. Once Alvarez and Dave became partners Alvarez has dragged down the audio. Back in the day Bryan let Dave carry about 90% of the shows, interviews etc. Alvarez knew his place. Now Alvarez doesn't, and we have a big drop in the quality.

    BOTSJ 8

Tiger Mask vs Kushida Kushida sold an injury and allowed TM to work over his leg. Tiger Mask has been the worst worker on the tour. So this was a pretty cut and dry match. 2 1/2* Liger vs Baretta This was a real solid bout. They cut a pretty all action pace. I liked Baretta's taunting Liger chants just like the crowd. 2 3/4* Gedo vs Owens Another pretty basic match, but fuck was Gedo over. 2*
  14. Some places it was played up as death, other places not so much. Harley Race used it as a transition move. Bob Backlund did a killer one and was used as a high spot.
  15. I wonder if they're going to hold back the show like they did this week on their website.
  16. I like the idea of a July 4th show. Feels very old school even if the main event looks pretty blah.
  17. I haven't watched the show yet. I listened to the Reaction show. So I was shocked to see the Observer Feedback. WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER POLL RESULTS Thumbs up 128 (68.1%) Thumbs down 16 (08.5%) In the middle 44 (23.4%)
  18. It didn't make my 10. I thought it was a 4* match. Thought Tanahashi's intensity was really lacking compared to Strongs.
  19. Melanie Gray vs Kay Lee Ray This was just quick and nothing to it. 1* Thatcher vs Harada vs Ray vs Klinger This is a fun little 4 way. Just all action. 3* French Flavor vs WCTT Decided to skip this Dragunov vs Tischer Guys are trading arm bars to start. Both working the arm. A clear feeling out process. Dragunov takes a shoulder bumb into the post and Tischer goes after it. Give credit to Dragunov credit for his big time selling. This is a real solid match. Dragunov does the little things so well. Good match. 3 1/4* The Rotation vs Dreiskker Squash I.m skipping the tag match Scurll vs Sabin Scrull going after the shoulder. He's using the Octopus as a weapon. Scurll seems laser focused on the shoulder. Scurll has a shot at my top 50 wrestlers of the year list. Sabin is doing a good job working the neck. I loved Scurll's cut off with the finger manipulation. Overall good stuff. 2 3/4* Alexander/Everett vs Da Mack/Uhaa Nation We get a fun dance off to start. Uhaa Nation does a back flip off the apron and stuck the landing on the ringside chairs. We got a big dive train. This is turning into a fun spotfest. So many hot moves where everyone shined. Not a lot of story, but tons of fun. 3 1/2* Dieter Jr. vs. End Man they're putting it all on the line. This is some hard hitting stuff. It's very intense. The setting up of the table wasn't needed. Tommy End's Death Stomp is nasty. End's Submission is sick looking. The crowd is eating this up. A great babyface performance from Dieter Jr. This was really good. 3 1/2* Another good show and I'd suggest going out and buying all 3 days.
  20. wXw 16 Carat Gold day 3 Sabre Jr. vs. Dieter Jr. Sabre Jr. is so comfortable on the mat. Dieter's ankle pick was slick. This is a feeling out process. I like the play off previous matches.Loving Zach working the leg. This has gone from a chess match into a strike fest. Dieter counters a front guillatine into a suplex. This has really broken down into a heck of a match 3 1/2* Absolute Andy vs Tommy End This has been a pretty hard hitting match. Andy delivers an F5 from the top rope. That should never be kicked out of. They're hitting big moves here. This was a lot of fun, just big move after big move. This wasn't very nuanced though. 2 3/4* I'll finish later
  21. Honma/Finlay vs Komatsu/Tanaka This was a super high energy tag. Their was that one ugly with Finlay,. Other than that this was a lot of fun. Honma is the jack of all trades. He's able to work with maineventers and get people behind him believing he's on the verge of winning. Here because part where he's slotted on the card. more because of talent he's able to get the crowd into believing he's about to get pinned by one of the Young Lions. Both Young Lions are ready. Komatsu more than Tanaka. Question is when is the right time. 3 3/4* White/TM vs Cavenario/Owens Some comedy early with Cavenario. Loved the near tag by White that was disrupted by Owens .I'm really liking the Southern tag feel to it in the early going. With the comedy and schtick it feels like a MX/Fantastics spot show match. The finishing run was pretty hot.Owens looked great with Cavenario. 3 1/4* Okada/RPG Vice vs Takahashi/Hall/N. Jackson The Bullet club gets heat on Romero. Overall a fun little tag. 2 3/4* Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazushi Sakuraba, Yoshi Hashi, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto, Togi Makabe, Captain New Japan and Katsuyori Shibata I'm pretty done with Makabe and Ishii as a pairing. Makabe FIP work was pretty mediocre. Overall I can't get excited for these matches. 2 1/2* Liger vs Gedo I saw this matchup 1st in 94. 20+ years later they still bring it albeit differently. Liger has the advantage on the mat early. Gedo turns the tides and starts to work Liger's leg. The work on the leg is basic, but easy to follow. I liked some of the call backs to their history like Gedo's counter of the La Magistral. They pick the pace up at the finish. A good meat and potatoes match. 2 1/2* O'Reilly vs Taguchi Taguchi pulls a banana out of his trunks to start. This has been some back and forth for a bit. Taguchi hits a big Tope' Con Hilo . Taguchi uses his butt based offense. O'Reilly uses his assortment of strikes to mount a comeback. Taguchi is doing everything he can to stop it. The double Terry Funk sell was over the top. The ankle lock submission was pretty tight. 3* Kushida vs Fish I love both of these guys. I'm loving Fish's leg work. Kushida is tremendous selling it. Fish misses a top rope splash. Kushida goes after the arm. Not a huge fan of Kushida using springboard moves after the leg work. Could live with it if we got post move selling. It's official Kushida has shitcanned all the leg work. Now Fish is back on the leg and Kushida is selling it. Fish with a super Falcons Arrow from the top into a leg lock submission that sees Kushida get the rope. What a fucking sequence. Kushida gets the arm with another awesome sequence. Man if Kushida sold the early leg work as he did the 2nd phase I easily would have gone 4 1/4*. He didn't so I give it 3 3/4* and the best match of the tourney so far. A great match with all the warts and all. Overall a thumbs up show. Kushida looking like the MVP of the BOTSJ so far in my eyes. Current Standings: Block A: Kyle O’Reilly (6) Ryusuke Taguchi (6) Babaro Cavernario (4) Gedo (4) Beretta (4) Chase Owens (4) Jushin Thunder Liger (4) Yohei Komatsu (0) Block B: Kushida (8) Mascara Dorada (6) Tiger Mask IV (6) Nick Jackson (6) Rocky Romero (6) Bobby Fish (4) Alex Shelley (2) (Out of tournament due to injury) David Finlay (0)
  22. I think I suggested moving her to the main roster as an agent last show or 2.
  23. Do you guys think if it was Sasha instead of Paige in there she could carry them to a really good match. I think Naomi and Nikki could be carried but need a ring leader. I think of the girls between WWE and NXT their might be 2 or 3 ring leaders.
  24. The Inspire Pro show was a lot of fun. The main event of ACH vs Andy Dalton was really good. It started slow but really developed into a really good match. Dalton is a great heel and ACH is one of the best faces around especially in Austin. Felt like a 3 1/2* match The other stand out match was the 4 way Jcrown match. The champ Steve O'Reno who's a good worker vs Ricochet vs Donovan Danhausen vs Jiggle o James. Danhausen really impresssed me . It was my 1st time seeing him and comes from the Busik, Gulak mold. They combined comedy, hot action, big dives, and just a lot of fun. Also in the 3 1/2* JOJO Bravo was fun, and the Pump Patrol are a good act live.
