  1. I'll echo these thoughts. Plus another thing the NJ World has shown is his lack of working hard on the NJPW houseshows that air.
  2. Great show fellas. I had a grin on my face the whole time listening.
  3. An archaic, corny gimmick as evil foreign heel. Did people expect him to have any shelf life? The best he can hope for is the Mark Henry role, credible enough to be thrown to the top if the card when they need a monster heel or to get someone over, but generally floating around in midcard obscurity. Worst case scenario he becomes a comedy character. Can't say I am too concerned either way. The repetitive way he was presented and the endless boring squash matches and outdated, tedious anti-America rubbish turned me off to the point where I always fast forwarded his television segments. On PPV he never struck me as the fantastic worker people argued he was. Crazy people on here arguing he should crush every face on the roster.
  4. If they ran specials monthly the roster would get too exposed so count me in that staying quarterly is the right thing for the brand.

    Rusev

Zayn isn't established in the WWE, I'd personally have Orton put him over, but he has a program with Rollins.
  6. My Danny Meltzer background story included him borrowing Dave's id to get into some wrestling party . Drinking a ton of booze. Meeting some of the NXT Divas. To drunk to drive, he takes a cab. He shows the cabby Dave's ID. Cabby drops him off at Dave's . Still drunk he thinks it's his place. So of course the keys don't work . The rest is on WO audio.

    Rusev

I see him pairing with Zeb to turn into a real American after losing to Cena at Extreme Rules. He realizes the American way of life is the only way of life.

    Rusev

With Meltzer reporting that Vince sees Lana as a big star and what happened at Mania I fear for Rusev. Obviously Vince is missing the boat . Rusev is ready for a main event run. I just think he'll ruin him. What do people see going forward for Rusev?
  9. Hero vs Busick We start off with a chop off and Hero's seem off. It escalates into an assortment of different types of strikes. Hero's goal is to KO Busick, while Busick thinks he'll choke out Hero. Hero really is outclassing Busick. Big German by Busick to even the score for a short time. Hero with a belly to back Suplex. Hero misses a big charge and Busick nails him twice with sick running Eurpean forearms. Rear naked choke that Hero gets a rope break. Big dive by Busick to the outside and puts on the RNC on the outside. Piledriver by Hero. 1/2 Nelson x2 by Busick and follows up with a stiff lariat. They battle on the top rope. Hero counters a choke sleeper with a rolling elbow. Rolling elbow. Big Pile driver by hero finishes it off. Both guys worked a stiff battle. A ltlle too much shifts in momentum for my taste. Still a hell of a match. 3 1/2* Tag match Swann got hurt and it just ends. Not going to watch it. Ricochet vs PJ Black We start off with some mat work. Some fun highspot counters. Ricochet getting the shine with hot moves. Black cuts him off with a face plant. Black gets a run on top now and he uses kicks and begins to ground Ricochet. Ricochet fights back, but Black cuts him off. We get a couple of attempts that both guys cut off. This cullimates with a big Ricochet dive to the outside. Ricochet is in control. Eventually, we see an STO from Black that leads to a kick off. Both guys battling. Ricochet with a 450 miss. Black hits it. They're battling on the top rope that leads to a reverse rana by Ricochet. A 630 for Ricochet for the win. This was a real fun high spot oriented match. The opening mat work meant nothing in the long run. A little too much big move, rcovery my opponents turn. Still I thought this was a fun high spot oriented match. 3 1/4* Evolve 40 is worth checking out. We get a good balance of wrestling and high flying on it.
  10. Perkins vs Gulak They take it to the mat. Much more wow mat work. Counter after counter of moves. Gulak hurts Perkins knee and starts to work it. Perkins looks to be targeting Gulaks arm. He works it with some interesting arm work. Gulak escapes and goes back to the leg. Perkins hooks a sweet arm bar submission that gets countered into a leg lock . They do this a few more times. I like it, but can see someone say that it's stupid. It got a reaction though. Gulak gets the heel hook submission. I liked this match. They combined mat wrestling with some pro wrestling psychology. The reversals were a little much, but for the most part satisfying. 3 3/4* Fox vs Page Fox has some cool looking shit. Page looks to be working the back after some cool shit. Page follows up with a stomp, and then a back body drop. Now Page is just beating on him. Fox with some defensive strikes. After getting his back worked over he delivers a big dive to the outside. Then he delivers a Swanton. Talk about getting your shit in. A match that has a lot of cool shit in it, but no real substance. 1 1/2* Some more later.
  11. It's on the Observer site.
  12. Most of the new shows look like doggers, but 1,000 more hours of wrestling content sounds good.
  13. 1. Drew Galloway vs Uhaa Nation This is fun stuff. We see nation work the arm . Galloway tries to get rid of him to no avail. Eventually he gets some seperation . Galloway with a slam on the ring apron. We get a chop battle, and Galloway throws Nation into the corner furthering his work on the back. Nation starts a comeback with his athleticism. German Suplex into the turnbuckle by Galloway misses his mark a bit. Strike exchange from both. Nation with a power bomb. . Nation in control. alloway counters into a DDT for a win. A good match. 2 3/4* Thatcher vs Tommy End Some fun mat working. The story is Thatcher's mat work and submissions versus End's kicking power. Thatcher cranking that knee lock. Some more control battle, then Thatcher gets a 1/2 knee bar. Judo throw by Thatcher that he turns into a hammerlock. End counters with a triangle choke that Thatcher wanted no part of. Scissor hold into a knee lock by End. Thatcher escapes with an ankle pick and is back on top. Thatcher captures End in a kimura, but gets the ropes. Fireman carry by Thatcher that leads to nothing. Big kick by End. End taking it to Thatcher. Big sell job by Thatcher on a kick. Leg sweep by End. End with leg strikes to Thatcher. Thatcher tries to fight back, but is quickly stopped. A front choke by Thatcher. End forces him in the corner for a rope break. Big knee strike by End that looks nasty. End tries to push guard and gets caught by a Fujiwara Arm Bar. Great match. 3 3/4* More when I finish watching

    WrestleMania 31...

That was a great way to kick off the show. Everyone had purpose in the match.
  16. Does having Steven as competition get your creative juices flowing?
  17. I thinks wins and losses are the life blood to wrestling. It's the best way to create stars. From Steamboat in 77, Goldberg in 97, and Rusev in 2014. Sure these guys had other qualities that made them stars, but wins helped them get elevated. Brock's 1st big push to the top in 2014 was based on a win. He ended the Undertaker streak. So yes wins and losses mean something in the past, present, and future.
  18. Wow Parv it's like you have your own little data base on interesting topics.

Styles/Fale/Takahashi vs Okada/Gedo/Yoshi-Hashi I really like Gedo on these houseshows. He seems to be able to do different things to keep his sections interesting. Here him and AJ look good in the ring together and I loved his spot with Fale that killed him dead. Overall this was just about your normal tag to highlight spots in a certain wrestlers move set. 2 1/2*
  20. Per Meltzer in Larry Z WWE HOF piece.

Time Splitters/Naito/Makabe/Tanahashi vs Roppongi Vice/Yano/Ishii/ Nakamura Some of these matchups seem pretty fresh on this show. I'm glad Kushida gets a chance to work with some of the main eventers. Some cat and mouse with Tanahashi and Yano.. The faces shine up at Romero's expense. Naito and Nakamura pair off. Everyone is brawling on the floor. Naito is effective as FIP. Tanahashi is in with the hot tag. His offense is over pretty big. Near fall on Yano. Tanahashi avoids a low blow blow. It seems their is a lot of pairing off is f who they're feuding . Some more brawling on the floor. The match was solid, but dtagged a bit. RPG Vice hits their finisher. 2 1/2*

Honma/Shibata/Goto vs Tonga/Anderson/Gallows Honma and Shibata has got to build to something eventually. I love Shibata running into Gallows punch. Shibata going after Gallow's leg makes perfect sense. Anderson with an Homage to Rose and Somers. Of course Honma teases the head butt. Honma is one of the great FIP workers in 2015. Anderson's taunting of Honma is tremendous. Honma makes his own comeback on Tonga. Though misses the head butt again and we have him back as a FIP. He eventually gets the hot tag to Goto. We get some more stuff. That ends with a Shibata penalty kick for the finish. This had a real Memphis feel to it. 3*
