With an hr. The 3 matches should have enough time to be good to great.

LOL, Fellas I have no desire to get into this argument for Saturday drink day topped off by a 64 oz Mexican Martini. Parv I'm always game for a 70's podcast. We can Have Johnny produce it with 70's sitcom drops.,

I know Snuka wasn't your 1st choice. I talked you into it as a last minute choice. He's done great, way beyond our imagination. Great card Parv!!!!

Dragon Lee v. Kamaitachi 3/20/15 Dragon Lee might be my favorite Lucha wrestler this year. This is a MOTYC. It's macara con mascara. The the first 2 caida's see both guys finish off their opponents with a high impact move as a finish. Now the meat of the match is the final caida. These guys busted out so many great highspots. These weren't high spots just look good or to get a that was awesome chant. The purpose of these high spots were to fuck up their opponent. We saw both guys do this . They left everything out on the mat. We got a some mat work. Not a lot, but the submissions meant a lot more as did the nearfalls since the masks were at stake. Their was one spot that was off on a dive, that kept it out as a slam dunk MOTYC. Still great shit that people should check out. 4 1/4*

I'm buying this .

The VOD seems like it might be a problem going forward. This weekends shows were both put up on Monday. The fact that we need to go through hoops to get our free VOD is major problem too. I've been waiting for an email or a message on the WWNLive site. No on that part too.

ROH returning to IPPV on 5/15/15 . I hope it works out for them.

For this weeks tv I was there live with Will and we got a couple of shots of Will's mug on the show. None of my thoughts from the 1st night changed from the live experience watching it back from my living room. My thoughts on the main event live. Elgin is a hit or miss guy for me. I enjoyed the match, but it had its flaws. I felt it was to your turn my turn and 2 count over kill . Live Alexander is a great baby face who plays to the crowd really well and gets them behind him. Too bad they are turning him heel. Those thoughts remain the same. My thoughts on the Fish tank We get a live Fish Tank with Jay Lethal. Everyone is great . Lethal was incredible. He eyeballs Christine Jarrett . reDragon does some fun comedy. Lethal runs down Jay Briscoe. We get a kick ass brawl. KRD attack reDragon. Daniels,ACH, and Daniels out for the save. Am incredible piece of business. Again nothing changed. The opener. I liked this. It started out with schtick, but morphed into a straight laced match for the most part . I agree with Will about 2 straight comedy matches. Dalton Castle has a great act. Some side notes. San Antonio came across as a super hot crowd.

Evolve 41 Martin Stone vs. Anthony Nese This is your basic match. Again it felt long. 2 * Caleb Konley vs. Rey Horus Horus looked good at the KOTI so he gets a shot to impress at Evolve. The story here is Horus wants to fly while Konley wants to ground Horus. This feels like more of a match than the exhibition we got at Evolve 42 with Horus. Horus selling seems better here than his KOTI work. Horus has some really breathtaking high spots. This is a match that could have been helped by cutting a few minutes This was pretty damn good. Horus looked amazing on offense. His selling was better. Konley was good. His work on top was solid, and kept things interesting enough. I'm excited about Horus working the better mat workers that Evolve showcases now. 3 1/4* TJ Perkins vs. Biff Busick I like both of these wrestlers so I'm excited for this match up. We get some early mat work. Some of the counters are lightning quick. Busick working a cravat. A flying European forearm by Busick. He does a neck crank. Bow and Arrow with his head right in Perkin's neck. Perkins gets some seperation. Perkins does a weird transition into a cross arm breaker that gets a rope break. Big double knee strike by Perkins. Big European forearm counter by Busick, followed by a Blockbuster. Perkins counters in into a cross arm breaker with leg guillotine strikes for a ref stoppage. 3 1/2* Ethan Page vs. Rich Swann Swann is on fire to start. Page cuts him off and starts working him over. He's focusing on the ribs he hurt over Mania. Swann's selling is really good here. I'm liking Page's focus, but would like a little more diversity to the work. Nice job of Swann selling the ribs after his rana. I'm loving Swann's work underneath, but Page needs a bit more mean looking offense. His offense was focused pretty well though. 2 3/4* Johnny Gargano vs. Davey Richards These aren't 2 of my favorites so lets see if they can engage me. They're working with a lot of urgency like the match matters. Riichards is controlling the bout with some Gargano hope spots sprinkled in. Big spear gives Gargano the edge. Richards jaw jacking with the crowd has been a highlight of the match. Richards back in control and starts to work the leg. Richards with some nasty leg work. Gargano attempts a comeback. Richards counters, but his focus goes away from the knee. Richards gets a stretch muffler, G?argano counters to a crossface but Richards makes the ropes. Strike exchange. Richards semms to sell the arm a little too much. They exchange submissions, they run the gauntlet of nearfalls. Richards goes over with a KO kick. I thought the finishing run was overkill and kinda makes the 2 of 3 falls in the main event harder to buy. With that said I liked this a lot with just some little things that bothered me. 3 3/4* Roderick Strong vs. Tim Thatcher (2 out of 3 Falls) Both guys are having great matches this year. Thatcher is in my top 5 wrestler of the year right now. Strong I could easily see in my top 10-20 without blinking. Both guys fighting for control. Thatcher catches the arm for a bit and Strong takes a powder. Thatcher back to the arm, along with manipulating Strong's digits. That's some nasty stuff. Strong using knees and strikes on Thatcher. Forearm exchange on the apron. This has been pretty hard hitting. Strong counters Thatcher Fujiwara 2nd fall starts on the floor. Some more interesting work on the mat.Thatcher has the momentum on his side. These guys are selling they've been in a battle. Thatcher counters a double arm suplex into a cross arm breaker. 3rd fall They really put it on the line here. This was just a war. Strong just destroying Thatcher's back. Both guys look like they've run a marathon. These guys worked so hard here. They gave us everything they had. The finish and final fall put this over the top for me as an excellent match. 4 * This was another really strong show. I thought this was the best show of the 2 this weekend. Thatcher having another great match. Strong kills it again. It's a shame his feud with the Decade has been so promiment. It's what is otherwise detracting from a killer year between the ropes.

Evolve 42 Andrea vs Santana This match didn't do much for me. I thought Andrea brought this down a lot. 3/4* Martin Stone vs Ethan Page This bout felt long. It didn't connect to me.Still better than the opener 1 1/2* Andrew Everett vs Rey Horus This is a showcase match to make both guys look good, but to show that they have plans for Horus. Mission was accomplished on their end. 2 3/4* Thatcher vs Perkins This so far has seen some great mat wrestling. Thatcher seems to be getting the crowd more behind him as his style gets more familiar. Thatcher's selling of his bad wing has been great. Loving Thatcher looking for the Fujiwara . Another great match from Thatcher and Perkins was with him the whole time. With Thatcher you can get a finish at any time. 4* Busick vs Strong Some big strike exchanges early. Busick misses Strong and Strong begins to dish out punishment. Busick runs around the ring for a big strike. That spot I hate, He goes for it again this time Strong counters it into a back breaker on the guard rail. Busick is selling the back pretty big. Strong gets heat on Busick. I thought he could have worked over the back better. He seemed to work over his mid section instead. This settles down with a strike exchange. Busick out of no where captures Strong in a rear naked choke for the ref stoppage. 3 1/2* Thatcher/Busick angle where Thatcher sells a busted eardrum. Richards vs Lee We start out with a fun rope running spot. Both guys work a real athletic style. Richards has a real intensity to him. Lee with some cool knee strikes. 2 3/4* Konley/Nese vs Swann/ Gargano We have a street fight. We get weapons shots. This went way long and got real repetetive. 2* Overall a solid show. Thatcher/Perkins was a great match and worth getting the show on it alone.

I decided to merge some of the threads and start an Evolve, WWN Live, I ppv dump thread and keep it seperate from modern Indie since it's a little bit more high profile.
-
I thought I'd start a thread for them solo from modern Indie wrestling since they're more high profile with the IPPV's.

I also had to put my head down in shame in being the only person on the panel getting Johnny's Willie Aames reference.- 20 replies

I counted 12 moments where Parv created his own backstory or theory without any true data. I gave him the benefit of the doubt with Saad.- 20 replies

It's awesome to have a lot of their tv uploaded to you tube. I wish we had their big shows for the payoffs.

He worked the old Murdoch/BJ Mulligan Armarillo territory. He seems to have gotten a decent push. Any ideas?

The way I heard the Luger/Steamer dynamic was their matches at 1st Steamer called and would coach Luger. Go yell at the old lady in the front row as an example. Then Steamer had Luger call his heat. Then eventually he called the match with all the neat stuff Matt mentioned.

Count along with me on the amount of times Parv creates his own background for his amusement. I've counted 5 in the 1st 30 minutes.- 20 replies

He's a guy who will fly under a lot of people's radar. I think he could squeeze in, but someone needs to make a passionate csse for him. He wasn't a guy who was the top guy so a match listing would be helpful for the guy. He's a guy if a 3 or 4 disc sampling comp of his work was made, it would go a long way in convincing people of his greatness.

I'm looking forward to watching it when it ends up on WWN. I ordered both shows, but was busy. Now you have me dieing to see the Thatcher match.

Plus how do you explain a camera being backstage, and how do you explain their being a pool table in the back also.

That photo is so disturbing.

This is the televised house show on the way to the ppv. Sho Tanaka vs. Tiger Mask This was just a meat and potatoes match that was helped by Tanaka's selling. I enjoyed TM kicks to Tanaka's bad leg. 2* Yohei Komatsu and Mascara Dorada vs.Roppongi Vice This was a blast. Dorada got a big reaction off of his performance from the last big show. I thought Dorada and Komatsu complimented each other well with Dorada's beautiful high spots and Komatsu's fire and agression. As a match this was a load of fun. We got Schtick, great highspots,, athleticism, and a good story in the ring. I was so glad Dorada caught Romero in the rope spot. 3* Yuji Nagata and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Captain New Japan and Manabu Nakanishi What the fuck. Nakanhishi and Nagata are Baron Sciluna and Dominic Denucci in 1982 WWE. Actually Nagata is more Pedro Morales. I enjoy Taguchi so much more in his role as tag worker. His stuff seems much more paleteable. 1 1/2* Bullet Club (Kenny Omega, Cody Hall, and Yujiro Takahashi) vs. KUSHIDA, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima Omega really needs to keep his momentum. Here he looked pretty great, but had flashes of goofyness. Kushida and Omegas pairing off was tremendous. Kushida's FIP work was really well done. I loved Kojima kickking Hall's ass. A real good finish to boot. 3* Tetsuya Naito and Tomoaki Honma vs. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows I've said in the past that Naito and Honma could make a great tag team. I loved the Gallows/Naito/Honma comedy spot. This was solid stuff, but really could have been better. 2 1/2* Bad Luck Fale and Tama Tonga vs. Gedo and Kazuchika Okada This was ok. I thought Okada looked good. Gedo was fun, but felt kinda aimless overall. 1 3/4* Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuyori Shibata & Kota Ibushi & Hirooki Goto & Togi Makabe vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano & Kazushi Sakuraba & Yoshi-Hashi This was a strong match. The attention to detail, and all the moments really made this. 1st off we get the Nakamura/Goto pairing. I also loved how Nakamura still had unfinished business with Ibushi and that he's still on his radar. I loved the Shibata/Sakuraba moments throughout and feels like they have a big time great match in them. Makabe and Ishii was exactly as expected. I enjoyed the Tanahashi/Yano stuff. The tag to the ref was so great. Nick Charles would have been impressed. The battle of hair pu;ling was tremendous. Then Tanahashi going FIP as a result of Yano was great. They start building to a hot finish. This was all a big false finish till they went to the direction they wanted. 3 1/2* Final thoughts on the show. An easy thumbs up show for a houseshow. I thought the wrestling was done well. Nothing too shitty, and 3 matches that got 3* or better for me.

Exile on Badstreet #3 = The Rebirth of the Indies
shoe replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Guys I'm loving this show. It brings up so many great memories. All the names being mentioned. When I saw KOTI I was blown away by Dragon and Low-Ki and went and tried to get all their matchups. From the stuff from ROH, to ECWA with Steamboat as ref. Now you guys are talking about Wildside I'm going nuts. Jason Cross was a guy who easily could have been a huge star. His athleticism was off the charts. Wilside was so great. JC Bailey was the greatest manager of late 90's, 2000's. That whole roster was fabulous.
