  1. I just moved it because it was derailing from the main point of the thread , current WWE. I wanted the topic to get back on point.

    Current WWE

Moved the arguments of getting laid versus not getting laid dressing as a wrestler to its own topic since it's not WWE centric.
  3. Here are my thoughts from The ROH 3/13/15 show from Milwaukee. Strong vs Daivari This was ok. Just a little back and forth match. They had one big hiccup. I enjoyed Daivari's Persian dancing. His strikes need work. Strong was good, but I feel he's not a wrestler that can carry a wrestler to a 3* star match, but can carry someone to a decent match. 2 * Silas Young vs. Will Ferrera Again this match didn't do anything for me. 1 1/2* Mark Briscoe vs Beer City Bruiser This was a solid bout. It went a little long. I like BCB and he easily could be a real fun underneath guy. He has some good punches and uses his weight well in this bout. I liked the post match Beer of Honor. 2 1/4* Roppongi Vice vs Whtmer/Jacobs This is a real mixed bag for me. i really didn't like the start of this. I feel Romero needs to eliminate some of his schtick spots to seperate this team from his team with Koslov. I didn't like the forearm and chop exchanges. Now once Barretta went FIP the match improved 10 fold. Barretta palyed FIP very well. The hot tag to Romero could have been executed better. Romero running wild was good though. He gets cut off and they go back and forth with hot moves and dives. leading to RPG Vice's new finisher. Jacobs looked real good in this match. 2 3/4* Taven vs Cheeseburger I loved Taven's pre match promo. An extended squash that the crowd really made fun. Michael Elgin vs. Josh Alexander This was a good hard hitting match. Both guys had a battle. At times Alexander's strikes weren't up to snuff. I loved Alexander's bleeding from the mouth. Just straight up smash mouth wrestling. 2 3/4* Samoa Joe vs ACH I thought this was an excellent match. We had ACH take it to Joe early and all it would take would be a kick or a strike to stop the momentum. ACH with leg kicks, again Joe stops him dead in his track. ACH gets a little run on top for a bit and does some real fun leg work. Eventually that didn't go anywhere and Joe really didn't put it over. That's really my only complaint of the match. Joe on top for a bit and really works over ACH. Comeback time and ACH is now going to his strengths. We get some nice nearfalls. Joe in control and finishes ACH off. This was a well worked established star versus the young up and comer story. 4 * reDragon vs Jay Briscoe/Jay Lethal reDragon is my favorite tag team right now. This is interesting. Lethal and Briscoe are doing the partners that don't get along gimmick. We get a fun tag. reDragon really have great psychology. I don't want to spoil the finish, but loved how the Briscoe/Lethal dynamic played into it. 3 1/4* Overall a solid house show. ACH/Samoa Joe really saved it. I'm curious how the Chicago show compares. I thought the main event was a fun dynamic. If it's true about the Briscoes leaving I can see ROH turning to Lethal as champ. As a character Lethal is tremendous. He needs to change his style up to better fit the style of World Champion. I have the same issues about him as TV champ. This could be a fun step 1 in a feud.
  4. Fujinami also announced his engagement in MSG.
  5. It killed me when Jay had no retort .

  7. http://smash-wrestling.com/ondemand/ That is the link. Can someone tell me what type of regulars they use, and the bigger name indie guys that work the promotion. Grimmas please chime in.

  9. Loss that really is top notch stuff, and it's cutting room floor stuff.

It's so frustrating. Reading that in the Observer today leaves a really bad taste in your mouth. I mean after Wrestlemania last year I don't think anyone would have guessed that DB would be in a match with R-Truth and Star Dust at the following Mania. I know it wasn't one of our predictions on the reaction show.

  12. I agree on Taven. He's cocky dick so the dives fit his character for me. Like see what I can do.
  13. I will say that KrisZ does an incredible breakdown of the Freebirds as a team. The level of detail is amazing. I've never been on a show where I've been awed at the level of knowledge someone brings in such detail. This is a can't miss podcast.
  14. It also opened up the market for tape trading, and helped forge a hobby that is still ongoing today of course with advances in technology.
  15. The ROH tv this week was really good. We had 2 really good tag matches in the Addiction vs. ACH/Sydal and the Young Bucks vs The Kingdom. Having the KRD play into both finishes is overkill unless they tie it all together. Addiction/Kingdom team up? I liked Jay Briscoe's promo, then Samoa Joe's promo was good as well. Not giving Jay a retort to Joe kinda made Joe come across as a bigger deal. Then we get a Jimmy Jacobs promo which was really good to set up a match next week with Jay. Overall, a really good show that you should seek out.
  16. I'm going Mid-South 1985. I loved Watts presentation of wrestling. We'd still get Flair here and there. So many great programs. I like my wrestling to be presented as believable. They did it better than anyone.
  17. Ibushi should, and probably will, lose. There's no intrigue in his push if he just steamrolls over everyone. I don't think he should be steamrolling either. I think he needed another big show or 2 of wins then challenge. He's lost to Nakumura where he got a big rub. He then beat Homna which isn't a big win. Then he got a nice run for the Cup. I would have liked a little bit more of a build with him. Now he's in a position where he's going to be counted to draw at Sumo.
  18. What scares me with NXT success is that it's presented differently from WWE , yet has some qualities are the same like production. I feel if they let NXT Vince will get him and his team involved in creative of NXT.
  19. Also I don't think Ibushi or Styles should be losing at this point. I thought we were going to get a Homna vs Shibata match. Nope. This undercard is flat out uninteresting. I get depushing Tanahashi and Okada, but both at the same time.
  20. Parv this is just bad booking. Are you going to introduce yourself as a new character as the Powers that be.
  21. To me ROH is a way better fit for Spike than TNA ever was. The way ROH presents its wrestling is a way better fit for a network that is a big proponent of MMA.
  22. The Finals was a good show. I'm glad we are going to see an Ibushi vs Styles match in April. Though I don't think it's time for Ibushi or Styles to lose. Tiger Mask, Mascara Dorada and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Jushin Liger, Jay White and Kushida This was a fun opener and it seemed to get enough time. It wasn't rushed or too crowded. The highlight was the big dive train. I enjoy Taguchi stuff much better in the 6 man format better. Kushida needs a more prominent spot in the promotion. A great worker with big time personality. He'd be over more than Itami in NXT. 3 1/4* Yuji Nagata and Sho Tanaka vs. Satoshi Kojima and Yohei Komatsu This was another solid bout. It felt more about the moments than the match itself. Nagata's selling was pretty hokey at times. I was surprised at Komatsu scoring the victory for his team. 2 3/4* Togi Makabe vs. Hirooki Goto The opening brawl was fun. I liked when it settled down Goto focused on Makabe's leg.It also made sense to work on Makabe's legs since it's a big component of his finisher. The work was well done on the leg. Makabe's Hulk up irritated me. I also wasn't digging Makabe's inconsistent selling. I did like how the leg work tied into the finish. Still the good outweighed the bad. 3* Kota Ibushi vs. Tetsuya Naito This was my match of the night The parity thing at the start made no sense since Naito controlled the match..Seeing Naito work on top was interesting and it worked because it didn't require him to as much. I loved Naito's working over Ibushi's neck area. . I loved Ibushi's comebacks because it was based on revenge spots on Naito's neck area. Naito's selling of that spike move was off the charts and I almost believed he was hurt. I would have liked that as the finish though. 4* Katsuyori Shibata and Tomoaki Honma vs. Cody Hall and Tama Tonga This is the perfect example of fun match. Honma and Shibata are the partners that can't get along. They were great as the Odd Couple tag team. They had a few fun spots and their schtick was the story of the match. Gotta give Cody Hall major props here. He carried the majority of the match for his side and he 's pretty raw right now.. 3* Toru Yano and Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Captain New Japan I liked Sakuraba and Tanahashi at the start. Sakuraba owning Captain NJ on the mat was perfect. Yano played his role well. The lead up to the finish was the shits . The NJPW super fans are ready to riot. 2 1/4* Bad Luck Fale, Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson and Yujiro Takahashi vs. Yoshi Hashi, Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada I thought this was ok. Chaos looked good. The Bullet Club was kinda just there. The main story was Fale/Okada and that's where it ended. Yoshi Hashi was FIP for a bit and that was pretty mediocre. Ishii then went FIP for a drink of water and he made his own comeback. The Bullet Club offense was mediocre. 2 1/2* Hirooki Goto vs. Kota Ibushi This is for the NJPW Cup. That spin bump on the apron by Ibushi was pretty damn sick.Ibushi does a great glassy eye sell job like Barry Windham used to do so well.I like Goto following up from the previous match and targeting Ibushi's neck. Not a fan of no selling German Suplexes. They build a finish with a lot of nearfalls. 3 1/4*
  23. I'm a huge fan of Dylan when he's on the soap box. Great stuff guys.
  24. Well I'll start one of Parv's talking points is that VKM is a time traveler .
  25. This has been a real fun listen so far. Zellner really is great at fleshing out the history. Tim has cool takes. Grimmas with the groan inducing jokes. My thoughts from the best of the 80's on the Bruno match. The crowd is even hotter than the Philly crowd. I mean the crowd is chanting Bruno before his match. This is like the Rock. Another solid match between the 2. This match doesn't have the nasty Bruno arm work that Philly had. Though they make it up with some fun brawling on the outside, and some real nice cat and mouse spots that played into the finish. I thought the Philly match was a tad better on work, but the atmosphere has me liking the NY match better. I've been watching the build for this feud for Titans of Wrestling and have been blown away.
