Sheepherders vs Bruise Bros. This is the Sheepherders debut in Houston, and what a way to get a heel team over as dangerous. They get super heat and just beat the crap out of both faces. They leave the faces a bloody mess. This was had a real gritty and violent feel to it.

I don't know if I'll be in the minority on this, but I prefer the one hour show format (without knowing what they'd do with 2 hours - granted). I totally get where talent is coming from with not getting to be on TV more than twice a month (tops), but I like having them spread out. It's a big deal when you get a Bucks match on TV. There's no overexposure there. Maybe more importantly, if they did explore going to two hours, I'm curious how it logistically would work. Do they turn "Conquest Tour" shows into matches filmed for TV? Do they have to run more often, definitely overexposing themselves to their regular markets? (Philly as-is was Aftershock Tour before SummerSlam, Final Battle, a TV taping the next night, and now the 3/12 show). Would they expand locations - taking bigger venues because of the new setup anyway? I think one hour is perfect . They'd need to add talent to go 2 hrs.

I totally agree. Plus the crowd is about as patriotic as it comes.

Lothario vs Killer Brooks All right another Lothario match. This time against Killer Brooks.; In the 1st fall we see Lothario work an arm. Lothario makes quick work of Brooks in the 1st fall. 2nd fall Brooks does some solid heeling on the crowd. Lothario starts working the nose. This was really fun. Brooks goes to the dreaded nerve hold. Lothario made it interesting by fighting under neath. Lothario's punches were great. The 3rd fall started out a wild brawl. It settles down. This was a pretty solid match. 2 3/4*

It's official I'm sold on Conway Jr. as a babyface. We got to see his skills on display. We see his selling, and his fire. Lewin is wearing thin on me at this point. The fact Funk had a 4 3/4* match with the guy truly is a miracle. I want more Tiger Conway Jr.

I loved it, but no.

I thought the Valentine match was about as good as it could have got. Ichiban is pretty limited in what he could do. Valentine showed he was great even as early as this.

It was fun to watch Greg be the face here. He pretty much worked like he normally would. Ichiban is really limited in what he can do. So I thought the match was about as good as we could get.

3/12/16 ROH ReDragon vs Strong/Cole 4 1/4* Man I liked this tag. We get a shine early with ReDragon looking great. The shine was all action with tons of hot moves. Though at the core the arm was the focus. I was marking out for the Memphis pumphandle spot. Both Fish and O'Reilly do stereo dives. Strong posts O'Reilly on the outside to set up the heat. Man the heels brought the heat. They really work over O'Reiily. I also like the missteps the heels would make from not teaming usually. This allowed hope spots and an eventual come back. I liked how the finish was set up. So we got a Southern tag, then it morphed into a fun filled finishing run.

One of my favorite segments of the year.

I have 2 more matches to go. So far it has been a kick ass show . I think last years Atlanta show is better.

3/12/16 ROH Kushida vs ACH 4 1/4* This was pretty good match. I liked the babyface dynamic from both guys early. We got both of them bringing some Flash to the bout. Eventually it settles down. This is when ACH focuses on the back. While Kushida had some really nifty arm work. I liked the stiff kicks to the arm. I particularly liked Kushida using the ropes to snap the arm. Some other aspects I loved was Kushida kept going for the Hover Lock to finally manipulate ACH into one. Kushida's top rope rana into a cross arm breaker had me come out of my seat. The match had some flaws. For example I felt the match went too long. This then have the wrestlers do some stuff that took away from the match. Still these guys really brought it, and having a hot crowd helped it.

Spoiler vs Halcon This had a lot of interesting things going for it. In the 1st fall we see the Spoiler focus on Halcon's neck area. To keep him away from his neck Halcon uses some nice looking arm drags. Spoiler refocuses his effort again on the neck and uses the ropes to spring off of. He pins Halcon with a springboard knee drop to the neck. The 2nd fall we see them work some complicated timing spots. Halcon was using his Lucha skills to keep Spoiler off balance. Halcon took a nasty bump to the outside. Halcon steals the 2nd fall. The 3rd fall was pretty great. It starts off with some real nasty arm work. Then transitions to the leg. Then Halcon goes for a front crab that gets positioned into a camel clutch. All of that was pretty unique. Halcon starts to undo the mask. Spoiler gets control and goes for the claw. Each time he couldn't make the claw stick. So in a brilliant maneuver Spoiler rips the mask so he can now lock on the claw. This ends in a DQ, and Halcon rips off Spoiler's mask. 2 3/4*

Okay I watched it and it was a really strong match. I'd say 4*. It was juat a hair below MOTYC. If the finish was a tap out I think I'd go 4 1/4*. It didn't so it just misses the list. I really enjoyed the arm work.
