I rewatched it and still like it a lot.
-
Duggan is the guy who came to mind.
-
I'm going to rewatch it too since I watched it around 5 AM.

I hope we get a new match today.

3/12/16 AAA Pentagon Jr. vs Hijo Del Fantasma vs Fenix vs Octagon Jr. 4 1/4 I enjoyed the heck out of this match. It was very high spot oriented. Yet their was the drama between Pentagon Jr.and Octagon Jr. All four guys worked really hard. It was an elimination match so it ratched up the drama. Plus the match served a purpose and set up Pentagon Jr.

I guess they started in November. I'm using the airdate since the intention was for the show to be televised in 2016.

If it was recorded in 2015 so be it. It aired for tv in 2016. I thought all the LU tapings began in January .

3/16/16 LU Mil Murtes vs Fenix 4 1/4* Another great match from Mil Muertes. He's having a better year than Brock, and getting paid a lot less. Again we have the story of big man vs little man. This is worked really hate filled. We had mask ripping. The guys incorporated the gimmicks and holy shit spots. Though the key was at it's core it was hate filled. Fenix was busted open Muertes right on cue goes after the cut. This was a brawl that would have gotten over in the 80's. This was stiff. When Muertes was punching Fenix on the announce table It made me feel uncomfortable. I loved the actual finish. My main complaints were the chair shots, and I thought the nearfalls were excessive.

The next match was Mil Muertes vs El Fenix. This was a real good bout. They told the big man vs little man story really well. Some jerks in the front row refused to move when Muertes was going to toss Fenix . So Muertes says Fuck it and knocks both guys on their ass by tossing Fenix right at them. The 3rd match was Evealisse against Tya and this was solid. Great finish as Evealisse caught Tya in a Triangle. The main event was Cage/Puma/Misterio vs Mundo/Black/Evans. If the guys went home at the 17 minute mark we would have had a really strong match. Both Misterio and Puma were FIP. They built to the big dives then it went another 8-10 minute match. It felt like one of those bloated PWG Mt. Rushmore matches. Well 3 of the 6 are PWG guys. Still it was a fun match. The show had about 3,000-4,000 people there. With Misterio promising they'd be back. The crowd was super hot for the whole show. This was Lucha Underground 1st outing outside of the Temple. I'd think they would classify it as a major success.

Holy crap great 4 way opener with Drago/Pentagon jr/Aerostar/Drago. Got a broken table and a balcony dive in the opener. A total spot fest. Some of the strikes looked weak at times, but I though it was an incredible spotfest.

In line for GA for Austin Warfare. 6th in line and they've strapped me up with a beer bracelet. So I feel comfortable that I will get in. The outside is packed. Makes you wonder how well they'd do if they toured here and there.

You've been saving that for 3 years. Parv your ex wife must have loved arguing with you. Lol
-
If Flair doesn't finish top 8 I blame Parv.

I was listening to the Jim Ross Pod with Duggan. Both guys put over Houston. Ross in particular put over the NWA classics index. Really marked out for all the Stars and World Title matches on the index.

That's awesome. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

1/2/16 PWG Timothy Thatcher vs Drew Gulak 4 1/4* Of course this had great mat work. I love this style because it;s a throwback to Billy Robinson or Jack Brisco or even Terry Funk as World Champion. Except quicker for the modern audience. Both guys are looking for openings. Thatcher eventually gets the arm and just wrecks it, while Gulak goes after the leg. At one point Thatcher uses a deadlift double wristlock. That's insane. Thatcher's arm work was right on point. With Gulak selling the arm big time to where it even gave him problems with positioning. The drama of the near submissions in the match were great. The finish played into all the arm work during the match.

Dusty vs Tank Patton I thought this was a well worked matched. Dusty was pretty spry here. In the 1st fall I enjoyed Patton's arm work. He also incorporated a hair pull to control Dusty. All the work in the 1st fall was really smartly done. Dusty hits a beautiful cross body for the 1st fall. The 2nd fall was entertaining as well. Patton using stomps. Great looking punches to the eye. It looked like he was trying to bust Dusty up hard way. He's smashing Dusty's head onto the table by the ring. Then they have this beautiful punch exchange. Overall really smart match. 2 1/2*
