2/14/16 Progress Rampage Brown vs Mikey Whiplash 4 1/4* Going in I wasn't expecting much. Left coming out this was one heck of a hate filled brawl. This is what Adam Page vs BJ Whitmer needed to be. This starts off like a hoss fight. It gives off the vibe of hate filled. Both guys are delivering nasty strikes. Whiplash takes a nasty bump into a row of chairs. They're brawling in the crowd and Brown hurts his leg on a bump. This is where the match becomes more than just a brawl. Whiplash just works over the leg. Brown sells it right on.. We get this for a bit, and it really gives a strong backbone to the match. . Eventually, Brown hits a Samoan drop. Then he follows up with other high impact moves that wrcks Whiplash. Brown with a pretty impressive feat of strength snatches Whiplash from the apron through the ropes and delivers a piledriver for the win.

I was really excited to see this when it popped up. Both guys are legends in Texas. Dale Valentine would become Buddy Roberts. The 1st fall was really methodical. It felt like 6 or 7 minutes of the 9 minutes were working a standing surfboard. The 1st fall didn't do a lot for me. Valentine's strength is bumping and stooging so we really didn't get that here. The 2nd fall was short and sweet. All of Spoiler's punches and his stomps look great. 3rd fall was better, but still not good enough to save the bout. Final thoughts. I didn't think they told a tight enough story. I felt they had Spoiler sell way too much. Dale didn't do enough things on top to make things interesting.Bottom line the match didn't play to the wrestlers strengths. 2*

Sure, I'll do it in a bit.

This was interesting. It had a lot of stuff I liked in it. I understand where Matt D thought the Full Nelson would be more dramatic in the 3rd fall. It makes sense though to use a bear hug to counter a headlock. Strengths 1. Jimmy Snuka's athleticism. His high spots really stood out. He seemed to ape a lot of Steamboat spots. My favorite spot was when Patera tossed Snuka off, and Hulked up only to eat a Snuka drop kick. 2. The little nuances that Patera brought to the table. 3. Patera's heel work. 4. Cool to see JJ with Patera 5. Both guys charisma screamed superstar. 6. Patera was the glue to the match. Weaknesses 1. Booked too long. If 6 minutes or so are cut out , the match would have been tighter. 2.Too much going no where. rating 3 1/2*

2/26/16 ROH Young Bucks/Kenny Omega vs ACH/Kushida/Matt Sydal 4 1/4* This match was pretty exciting. Sure it had some awesome spots. Omega German suplexing Sydal onto the ramp after a double super kick from the Bucks. Kushida's flip dive. Young Bucks tope's, and ACH huge dive, along with others. Sydal's FIP work was the back bone to the match. ACH and Kushida got to shine and look like a million bucks. The Bucks and Omega were great too.

Taylor vs Buddy Roberts I was at this show back in the day. This was interesting. Taylor is the champ, but Roberts is on the bike stalling out the time like he was. They have a solid match. They build to a really hot last minute. 2 1/2*

1/8/16 Free Lance Wrestling Mustafa Ali vs Isaias Velazquez 4 1/2* This is a match that Dylan pimped on twitter and I loved it. First off the crowd was super hot for both guys. The commentators did a tremendous job in getting both talents over. I thought the limb work was top notch in this. Both guys were really focused on the limb work. They mixed it up with some fun spots. Then built up some incredible drama with the limb work paying off at the finish. These guys told a great story.

Country Whipping Match This is a Country Whipping Match/I Quit match. This was tons of fun. It was structured like a southern tag. except everyone whipped each other. The faces really took it to the Birds. Hayes might be the best ever at taking a country whipping with his selling. Roberts is no slouch either in this department. At the finish Hayes has had enough and takes a powder. This leaves Roberts alone. Doc whips him good till he quits. I'd like the match more if they would have done the I Quit a couple of times and built to it. Still fun stuff. 3 3/4*

Depends. One man champion. US and IC on separate shows as their main titles. Keep them separate. They each have different feels and styles. It could work that way. Of course I have no confidence they would do it right. The only brand split I would want to see is an NXT invasion, leading them to take over Smackdown. You know an NXT brand split would just bury NXT as false stars.

I thought the Fantastics did a good job carrying this and going that long.

If you have badges or wristbands to SXSW in Austin On Tuesday March 15th The EL Rey network will be putting on a Lucha Underground show. 1st time not in LA.

I went with the political hit. Even though I think the term is pretty strong. To me I feel their are different agendas going on right now. I think having Shane their has added even more pressure to HHH to assemble his piece of the pie. Whoever pushed that final segment through on Raw had to part of team HHH. Also it's clear Zayn and Balor are clearly HHH guys, and is keeping them at NXT to avoid the Tyler Breeze treatment. I feel he's willing to sacrifice pawns like Breeze, Dallas, and even Pac to keep his players on his board. Dunn is fighting for his position trying to keep HHH/Steph at bay. Vince isn't surrounded by his old team on a daily basis like Patterson etc. HBK said this on a SCSA podcast HHH learned from Vince and he knows the wrestling side. You can also take that as this makes HHH the ultimate at being able to manipulate and play sides against one another. Reigns push has been poor because of all the different agendas, and because creative has plenty of cracks in it already. So it makes it so much more easy to exploit it.

Freebirds vs Chavo Guerrero/Terry Taylor/Bill Watts(Houston Wrestling 8/23/86) I loved this match. 6 man tag, double ring. Bill Watts walking tall. Terry Gordy at his pinnacle as a wrestler. Dibiase starts with a scathing promo that would make Parv proud. Hayes tries to retort only to get a few words out then bam Watts punches him right in the mush, and it's on. Wild brawl to start. Watts throwing bombs on Gordy and Roberts. It settles down and we get the Houston 2 ring tag. Watts and Gordy were the stars here. Everyone had their moments. Though I felt Watts and Gordy carried this. Gordy especially on both ends. Bumping and making Watts, but kicking ass when he had the chance. Taylor gets busted open, and Chavo showed fire throughout. Hayes was his total opportunistic self here. I loved Roberts just shining up his opponents. 4 *
