  1. Meltzer buried the Piper segment, too.
  2. I'm sure in their eyes, all the badmouthing we do about him is actually working in their favor since he is after all a heel announcer. Someone should tweet this to Piper, see how he reacts.
  3. I'd probably be pissed off too (I skipped that segment). Not so much for Lou but Cole dumping on anything Old School. Fucking guy is a parasite.
  4. Didn't they say it's just for tonight?
  5. Didn't see it, but I'm happy his major-league botch won't be the last thing people who watch will remember him by.
  6. Brother called WCW Hotline when he was 7-8 years old. Left the phone off the hook, wound up with a 200 dollar plus phone bill.
  7. They can get away with that, and rightfully so because it's both Bret and Joey's opinions. Same reason they let Jim Cornette do those 3-4 minute segments in '97, letting him vent away at whoever was in his craw that day.
  8. Also why they shifted from "Modern Day Warrior" to "Texas Tornado" for Kerry Von Erich.
  9. Was it during his first run with WWF that Steamboat got the "Dragon" moniker? If so, that's one re-branding that worked because it added on to his babyface appeal, and seemed less cartoon (except his brief run in '91).
  10. Plus I'm sure it would be easier for them to just get Dennis and Bobby or Ricky and Robert to talk anyway.
  11. He eventually did give Barbarian and Warlord new outfits, but you're right.
  12. The History Of WCW documentary is surprisingly balanced, and not as pro-WWE as even I was thinking it might be.
  13. Totally didn't make sense. I was at the taping, and I remember a general disappointment in the crowd that Curt didn't wrestle. I felt it at least.
  14. This is very interesting news. I'm not really up on Resistance Pro's progress, but the elements could be in place if this show is done right, to get them the right kind of exposure.
  15. There couldn't have been a worse time for him to come in and sorta-reprise the Frank Drebin role.
  16. I kind of like the idea of Oldman doing it, just to add him to the other biographical roles he's taken (Sid Vicious, Oswald, Beethoven).
  17. Philip Seymour Hoffman as Pat Patterson.
  18. I loved Cole's line that he donated his singlet to the Hall of Fame.
  19. Absolutely. The ability for the player to create characters was a huge step forward in making things more interesting.
  20. My choice is oddly enough, another Brit, Danny Huston. If ever a film is made of his life, Montreal would have to be the climax. If you look at how ruthless he was behind the scenes as a juxtaposition of his on-screen persona it's almost like the SNL sketch of Reagan playing up his dopey image in front of the cameras but is cut-throat when it comes to substance. Montreal was the first crack of that bubble that would shortly be burst by nearly half a year later from that.
  21. That reminds me of the last time I saw Ann Coulter on Bill Maher's show. With every ridiculous thing she said, it was clear there was a segment of the audience that was her plants that rooted respectably to wildly, which was quite odd to watch. If he didn't, Sean should have grilled him on his "blatant fake wrestling matches" quip. For example, asking if he felt there was a way to just get rid of matches altogether.
