  1. Linda will not attend GOP convention.
  2. Hulk has certainly done far worse than it, so I won't argue that it's ambitions were a little admirable if not a bit lofty. This kind of project seems like it would have been a Catch-22 because a movie with Hogan in it had maybe a fighting chance of being a success in 86 or 87, but this is also when the company needed him to help eradicate the territories. So in '88 when Savage seems like the guy to carry the ball for awhile, they shoot this and release it the next year when pro wrestling is not the cultural phenomenon it was earlier in the decade.
  3. I've heard his podcast a couple of times. Nothing too memorable, but it passed the time. I think his sponsorship of the Fleshlight is more telling of his mindset than anything else. He's way better as an interviewee after hearing him on Marc Maron's show.
  4. I have no real desire to see it myself, but it did become a source of amusement when I later looked it up on IMDB, and found out the actor who played Hulk's brother would later play one of the muscle-bound henchmen in The Big Lebowski (was also in a bit part in Lethal Weapon 2 and had a substantial role on the 2nd season of Dexter).
  5. Anyone buy the No Holds Barred DVD?
  6. Doink came out first which made me turn off the TV right away.
  7. I think it's "Did You Know?". They may as well just ask NBC to use the old "The More You Know" graphic.
  8. Where is he coming from then?
  9. I've seen some 70's Japanese stuff recently from that looks like it's from the early 90's compared to other feds.
  10. Bad way to leave, but obviously for the best. Like Austin, if he had stuck around he just would have floundered beneath the real Millionaire Club.
  11. I think Hulk winning in 90 made him look stronger going into Toronto. I wasn't watching it at the time but I'm guessing they tried to make both of them as equally invincible as possible, as to hype the "Clash Of The Titans" feel to the build-up (including that awesomely bad but effective intro to the show itself). Another thing is that Hogan winning twice in a row probably helped make the end of the 92 match as stunning as it was with Sid eliminating him and setting up their feud.
  12. Videotape was in it's infancy then, and I'm sure promotions put quantity over quality and didn't think about how great it would look on television. TV screens in the 70's were about the size of a large serving plate and a good deal of them were in black and white.
  13. I genuinely laughed at Cena's Star Wars shtick. Sue me.
  14. Coming out in blue jeans didn't help. I was there and although I can't compare his and Vader's pop's I'd say it was a little bigger than it probably came across on TV.
  15. And like I said elsewhere, this couldn't have been a worse time for him to play up on his Frank Drebin character.
  16. Depends on the price really, it's 7.99 here (Comcast's price anyway) so if it's equal to what it is where you are and if you're able to squeeze it in I'd say it is. I have both Netflix and HBO so I couldn't really justify it, especially with my limited budget.
  17. Going to Raw tonight, 4th time it's been here and the 4th time I've gone.
  18. That still does not sit right with me
  19. You mean Heenan and Bockwinkel right?
  20. Flair said in his shoot interview he was planning on sitting back and relaxing for a year, and amusing himself by seeing how they would attempt to cope without him.
  21. The time I met Bobby in a record store for an autograph session (in 1999, day before Owen died actually), I asked him what music he listened to and the follow-up was what does Tony like and he made a remark that painted him as a pedophile. So I can confirm how much Bobby didn't care for Schiavone.
  22. No doubt it still stands as the best RIP segment WWE has done.
  23. Is Jesse's commentary removed from the matches he's announcing? EDIT: Nevermind, watching it on Netflix now. It sadly is
  24. Wasn't there a big number of Bret fans in the crowd that night? Maybe not equal to Davey but still a presence in the audience.
