  1. Whether it does or not it will no doubt make an interesting double feature with the other film A24 has coming out,The Zone of Interest. This will be an interesting season for movies in what’s been a pretty fascinating year for releases anyway. Seems to me like this will have some threads in common with Ferrari, itself maybe the threshold between this and Oppenheimer in terms of the more personal themes of each.
  2. This must be the period when he was kind of hot in Hollywood too coming off the two movies with Arnold
  3. Bill Simmons was crowing again about the Netflix doc, so I guess that’s still on the table for release at some point. I figured the footage would have been erased or something after its cancellation was announced. I won’t believe it until I see a trailer, but good on him for still trying to will it into existence. I'm still hoping Vince has secretly written his memoirs.
  4. Really liked Jey and KO embracing after the main event.
  5. Heyman should christen his team the Dangerous Alliance

  7. On some level it’s very brotherly
  8. Heavy rumors are flying that Triple H and Stephanie are separating, and that they’ve been estranged for several months
  9. I’d go the other way who are the best baldies
  10. Paul Dano would be perfect as Terry Funk
  11. I’ve heard the opposite, when it came to rock concerts. Infamously called the “rectum” for how bad the sound was.
  12. I wonder if he’ll give it back or take it with him, or they sue him. It honestly surprises me this is happening again 32 years after Flair brought the big gold up with him.
  13. Mooney didn’t fare as well doing live commentary as compared to the stuff he did on Prime Time calling prerecorded matches with Hayes. Heenan carried him pretty well on the one show early in 91 they did together from what I heard of it
  14. WWE on ABC could be huge The TGIF era
  15. This picks at so much of history that’s gone before but also just the psychological underpinnings alone of everything going on in both companies, in a year in which the business’ most horrific tragedy will be on the big screen and on a day 28 years after things really began to change, it’s almost funny if it weren’t so sad too.
  16. Clearly nobody is going to come out of this smelling like roses, for awhile anyway. Tony did the right thing but as many have noted it’s been maybe too long a time coming too. That said this could also galvanize the company against the sort of Chicken Little-ing this news tends to dredge up. As for the man himself I just hope he retires and moves onto something else. He’s smart, witty and could find himself in a better place without the industry again.
  17. It would really put to test what he thinks is best for business if he makes amends with Phil, or just lets this current story play out enough that it makes it clear enough to the new bosses this is a headache they don’t need. Of which they obviously have a few at the moment.
  18. Watched Collision last night and now I can say I’m properly hyped. Whatever deficiencies in the booking or this guy not getting along with that guy, really melts away when considering the way this roster of matches has been set up, as basically the company’s coming out party internationally as it was when it began four years ago. I thought this years WrestleMania was perfect in a way I didn’t see coming. It felt more reflective of the entire history of professional wrestling in ways that were just multiplied by everyone’s effort and ingenuity towards putting on the best show possible. I think today will be no different, with the added twist of it being London and Wembley Stadium and a new market for a company that is as different to WWE as it also is obvious that they’ve been enriched by talent on screen and off that honed their craft either in the WWE or elsewhere across American indies or internationally in some cases.
  19. Jim Cornette should respond directly to the NYT
  20. The match he had with Pedro Morales in Boston from 86 was quite a treat to watch randomly during lockdown
  21. I love Camel. They were one of the last bands in the first wave of 70’s British progressive rock. Andy Latimer is a superb musician, on the guitar especially. Didn’t realize someone used their music but makes a lot of sense. https://youtu.be/UfyutJ-QHcs?si=lTU1CkOG5oqD2wLx
  22. His WWE Hall of Fame speech was particularly touching concerning themes of life and death in pro wrestling.
