Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Victator replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Found the GCW with Ric Flair's first appearance as NWA champion. It was off putting to see Flair so new and tentative as World Champion. He did not seem to believe it himself. Kinda like seeing Hulk Hogan in 84. -

They are really smug for unpaid interns. I saw that Always Sunny episode three or four times before I realized that the guy Da Maniac is wrestling at the beginning is Don Frye. Yep its the Sunny episode. Or the Family Matters where Carl and Urkel fight the Bushwhackers, who start shooting when they find out Carl is a cop. -
83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff

Hulk will be recounting when he slammed the near 600 pound Conrad and tore his back in two. -
I don't think Jackson looked good at all. The fight looked like the worst of ancient mma and modern mma at the same time. Did somebody ask about better wrestlers than Punk.

The worse thing Sabu ever did was save Punk from Teddy Hart. I can't imagine Punk winning a fight with anyone. The guy he was fighting looked pretty shitty too.

Not sure if it's the first, but Harley Race vs Hogan in 1988 predates. In 1985, Terry Funk took bumps on the ringside table around the loop during his feud with Junkyard Dog. Hogan slammed Quake thru a table at Summerslam 90. -

Why should Punk not be called on his shit publicly? You never really acknowledged how you misrepresented what he said. And a long time friend not wanting to associate with someone because of where they work is not understandable. -

You are intentionally misrepresenting what was written. He is angered that his long time friend abandoned him because he needs to make a living. Maybe you would not be bothered if a friend abandoned you. But most humans would be hurt. -
Going by this, Jericho and even Hornswoggle. Punk is a better fighter than human being.

Bagwell is like a glass of milk. By itself it is fine, but nobody really wants a glass of milk by itself. But add some cereal or some chocolate/strawberry syrup, you really got something. -
83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff

In some ways Eric may not get the credit he deserves. He was so smug during his rise and time on top, people relished in his decline, Which would make one defensive. -
Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Victator replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Conrad sounds like Huckleberry Hound. Bruce kinda does too, so its Huckleberry Hound interviewing himself. -
The Jim Cornette Experience

He seemed very uncomfortable on the show when he was working for Jarrett last year. When the Canada business happened, he seemed relived he would not be working anymore. -
I'm hosting a weekly podcast with Jerry Jarrett - help me out!

I doubt it, Prichard has been bashing Jarrett for years now and what would the pay off be? -

That's his business. I think he gives Prichard too much time and attention. He has done too many great things to worry about what other people think of him. -

Really they sold it out? I have not seen a Hot Topic in six years and I bet most people on this forum don't have one in their town. Even then its more accurate New Japan has shirts in Hot Topic and the Bucks are along for the ride. I don't buy them as draws, which doesn't matter to them. They make a decent living wrestling, which is more than a lot of guys in wrestling can say. -

I asked Jerry not to use "Tard" as a slur on Twitter. He apologized and did stop. So I have a lot of respect for him on that. -

The Bucks are vanity searching asses. it would benefit them a lot more to do something with Cornette than it would Cornette. Do you think he could not get work as a performer if he really wanted it. ROH sounded like a bunch of kids upset they got a real teacher after pushing around the substitute. If I thought he was wrong, I would say it. I thought his fantasy booking for Ronda Rousey was dog shit. I think he obsesses too much with trying to compete with UFC. -

From who, the Bucks? -
It was never that wrestling could not draw. It was often the hateful idea only poor people watch wrestling and they apparently have never spend money. Now that beggers can't be choosers, wrestling looks more attractive to advertisers. If ROH made a full court press to get a cable deal, I think they could. This could explain why WWE keeps signing up indy talent they have no plans for.

Dude that is way off base. He barely mentions the Bucks. The Bucks have more of a problem with him than he does with the Bucks. You can tell by how they really want him to acknowledge they are draws and he just makes fun of them. If he wanted to work angles, he could find work. He could be the biggest heel in indy wrestling. Not that its hard, you just need to imply Joey Ryan's gimmick is shit and they lose it. -
[2002-03-02-ZERO-ONE-Truth Century Creation] Shinya Hashimoto vs Masato Tanaka
Victator replied to Loss's topic in March 2002
Its likely more a credibility thing. Hashimoto is so much bigger than Tanaka as a star, he could never bridge the gap. He is Koko Ware challenging Ric Flair in Memphis. People knew why Koko was in there and the fans knew he was not winning. From a story point, The Roaring Elbow was Tanaka's Trump Card, if this failed, he was finished. That happening finished off Tanaka. Hashimoto was not Hayabuse or Gannosuke or even Mike Awesome. Hashimoto was on a level Tanaka could not approach.- 10 replies

Will this lead to another promotion getting a decent TV deal or a cable channel starting a promotion. It is relatively cheap, find a place to record and a few guys under contract. There are a few ex WWE guys floating around who could carry a small or a medium size wrestling promotion.
