  1. This was pretty good. Not as good as the Han match but stiff as hell. That kick towards the end I thought was the end.
  2. Nice Hansen/Brody shirt Cactus has on. Funny moment in the match was a fan throwing a Hulk Hogan action figure in the ring. Not as violent as the Funk/Sabu barb wire match from 97 but this was good. I kinda felt bad for Cactus having to take all those silly bumps.
  3. Damn Beulah was at her hottest here. I always hated the breaking fingers gimmick that Raven and Dreamer did. I think Spicolli did it too when he feuded with Dreamer in 97?
  4. Todd gets a big pop for cussing on the mic. I always liked him as an authority figure. Like a better version of Teddy Long on Smackdown.
  5. Kevin's mean face looks like he's trying not to bust a gut laughing. Just awful.
  6. Bob is sending the "Armstrong Avenger" after Cornette's Militia. Buddy has a great line about how the Avenger is probably one of Armstrong's bunk buddies in the Marines. Cornette looks ridiculous in the fatigues.
  7. Always funny to see Snow making fun of Morton and Gibson. Then he yells at Les to do his job which flusters Les.
  8. I didn't know Stan wrestled after he left WWF? Good segment with Jackie wearing her Harlem Heat gear and Jerry Jarrett wearing the same suit he always does.
  9. Volk Han is just a great great man. Every time you think he's in trouble, he comes back and wins. I liked where Yammamoto is getting checked on, says I'm already and then palm strikes Han right in the face. Good stuff here.
  10. Some more USWA 1997 recommendations: 5-17 Bloody Ox Brody vs Brian Christopher chain match. I think this is the first and last chain match that took place in the studio. Goes all over the place and ends when Billy Travis nails Brian with a guitar. Fake Razor Ramon's babyface turn. Admits he's not the real Razor and that the Real Razor is Scott Hall and he's in WCW. Gets attacked by Mike Samples and the Truth Commission. Really weird angle. Vince gets involved later in the year.
  11. Brock was at UFC tonight and seems like he might want back in. Vince has gotta be pissed now.

  13. I don't follow MMA media much but how big is Meltzer in the MMA media world? Seems weird for Dana to go after a guy that writes the Wrestling Observer. Wasn't Dave gone from Yahoo when he wrote what got Dana upset?

  15. Juventud holding the belt and Rey diving head first right into it has to be one of the most stupid things I've seen in Lucha. And it was the first move in the match!! First 2 falls meant nothing and I guess the third one was good. Some nice dives but the start just pissed me off.
  16. I too would like to see the full match some time as the finish was good. Nice to see Chono and Choshu at ringside. The look Muto gives Chono at the end was great.
  17. I watch watching UWF Blackjack Brawl earlier tonight and it's crazy how different Spivey look then(September 1994) to here as Waylon Mercy. Then he looked like a Steve Austin clone circa 93. I just love the Waylon Mercy look. He doesn't like people touching him.
  18. Now this was pretty good. Loss said it right that it's much easier to watch than the All Japan match earlier. I liked Chono/Tenzan heeling it up and even cheating at times. You had Hirata and Hash just throwing bombs and the crowd was really into it. Fun match.
  19. I love this match so much. Heel RNRs are awesome, especially Morton with his girlfriend. They are just angry and beat up PG13 with kicks and cheating. PG13 are also good here and it's funny to compare this to the way they act in SMW. This is really the last great USWA/Memphis match the territory had.
  20. And so it beings. Can't wait to read the back observers about this. Sullivan's 50's bad guy voice is funny.
  21. Nice to see young Perro Jr brawling with Fuerza Guerrera. I wasn't a big fan of this. Too much AAA brawling but the bottle stuff was neat. Pentagon sells it like death but it's kinda eerie given what happened to him a couple months later.
  22. Shawn Michaels in 1996. Although he was pretty hated by the males at that time.
  23. I saw the 96 match and it was very good. Haven't seen the 94 match and I"d say the 96 match was better than this. Don't know what to say about this that hasn't already been said. It was certainly very well worked and had a lot of emotion. Going into it, I was dreading watching this cause few things I hate more in wrestling than long 90's All Japan matches. The final 10 minutes or so really caught my attention. All the neck drops to Kobashi and Kawada kicking Misawa right in the face with the Dangerous Kick was great. It's just, I know I should love this match and think it's MOTY but I just don't feel that way. It felt just like a match that was happening that I had no emotional investment in. Maybe I should try watching it again?
  24. This was really fun. I haven't seen much of Kroffat and I heard he was good but not this good. I liked his cocky attitude and he carried RVD to a real good match. The mid air bellly to belly suplex by RVD was nice.
  25. This was a mess but entertaining mess. I liked the crowd going crazy for Sandman teasing to hit Alfonso with the cane.
