  1. Boy was the disappointing. Between the clipping and the guys working half speed, you would think this was 2017 CMLL openers. I guess the feud is Negro/Warrior. I hope Negro has a good match there cause he's been disappointing in 2000 so far. Crowd seemed hot for Ringo which is nice. Nothing to see here.
  2. AAA women's wrestling has never been really good unless the Apaches were involved. That holds true here. Martha Villalobos is the Moolah of luchadoras in that she was well respected but awful and had a stable of wrestlers. Janeth and Rossy aren't awful but they were clearly over the hill. I always liked Xochilt as she wasn't in much but she was the best of the bunch in this match. Short match with not a lot going on. Pentagon runs in as he was with Xochiti and Hector Garza makes the save. Then, the rest of the luchadoras come in to congratulate the winner. AAA isn't looking great in 2000.
  3. Kendo Azteca the son of Kengo Nagasaki I guess. Survival Tobita the man, the myth the legend. I don't know what this is but I love it. The match ends with the head scissors for god sakes. I always wanted Survival vs Misawa but it wasn't meant to be.
  4. OVW really feels like the worst promotion in 2000 so far. Even worse than WCW. The match was going good until the heel ref came in again. Seriously, what is Cornette's hard on for ref distractions/run ins/bumps? It's super annoying. Even more annoying than his LOUD NOISES commentary. Rico looked good and Flash took a crazy bump that the camera totally missed. However, that's overshadowed by the shit that was going on.
  5. I love me some Black Nature boy. He's one of the first Florida indie guys I remember seeing back in like 99. He was a good wrestler and the gimmick cracked me up. This match was fine but the camera work made it impossible to follow. I loved Jaguar doing a iron claw in a cruiserweight match.
  6. I dig that Marty is still in his new Rockers gear in 2000. I remember Mike Sullivan from his legendary feud with Black Nature Boy Scoot Andrews on Florida indies. This isn't much as the camera work is really bad and the match is kinda short. Looks like Marty turns heel at the end but it's clipped. Loved the finish though with Marty doing a dive from the balcony but it turned against him.
  7. Black T Shirt squad represent. I have a soft spot for Don Montoya after reading about him for years in PWI. Barry Horowitz was a Florida indie legend at the time working every indie in the area and getting on TV. There is a charm to this match. Really old school without being totally out of touch like OVW. No commentary helps as you can hear the workers and the crowd. Crowd was really smarky with every 2000 indie chant being shouted. Barry did a good job holding this together and Montoya looks ok but really indie. He worked a couple dates in Memphis around this time for MCW.
  8. Nice to see Ricky marvin's brother Rocky. Like Ricky he's underrated as hell. This was a decent match thinks to the tecnicos. Mascarita sagrada is one of the best minis of all time and I always liked Octagoncito. Some nice dives and the rudos don't get along. Sagrada is so fluid and makes the highspots look so flawless. Decent match.
  9. I don't know what to think of this match. It was pretty brutal with all the glass and blood. I liked the crowds reaction that ranged from being disgusted to bored to laughing. However, this was just way too long. Lots of the guys gigging with glass and laying on the mat. Ian is usually good in these types of matches but here he just looks so slow. If this was 15 minutes instead of 20+, I might have liked it more.
  10. Is this Chaz the same one from Global? I'm thinking it's not but I love that his name is Love Machine. The Match starts pretty chaotic and sloppy but it gets better over time. I really like Buster Time. Good hoss type character and Dragon/spanky make a good team.
  11. Does every OVW match include a run in? It's just ridiculous. All 3 matches shown have some sort of ref bump and a run in. it's annoying and overkill. I'll agree Dinsmore looked good in this even with the bad booking. Better than he was in January. I still can't tell who is the babyface between Damaja and Conway. I'm guessing Damaja?
  12. Holy shit as Bailey's promo on AJ. I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Steve Martin looked mortified when Jeff mentioned gloryholes and snowballing. That was the highlight of this whole thing. As for the match, it was a match. Love Frenchy Rivera and Skinny Kenny. Getting NWA worldwide flashbacks watching those guys. Only person missing is Stylin Shane Eden. I think Terry Lawler is related to Steve the Brawler Lawler. He gets destroyed with a toaster that had to hurt. Nice to see Al Getz on commentary.
  13. When you go into the Mil mascaras japan matches, the layout is usually the same. The rudos bump a lot for Mascaras and his brother and Mil will get the win with the body press from the top. It's up to the rudos if it's going to be a good match or not. This was fine. Dos could still go and had some nice dives. Dantes and Violencia played their roles right and made the brothers look good. The best part of the match was Hidaka vs Otsuka. I love when Otsuka does lucha. It's rare like when Hogan used to come to Japan and actually chain wrestle. He's awesome at it but you wouldn't know it if you watched most of his matches. He has a great dive on Hidaka mid way in the match.Fun match.
  14. Pimpinela in CMLL is just so weird to me. So used to seeing him in AAA. Kinda like when Electroshock and Cibernetico showed up in CMLL. Anyways, Pimpi is really toned down in this match. No trying to kiss the other wrestlers or anything like that. I wonder if that's why the match was clipped so much cause it was censored? They've done that with Maximo before. Match wasn't much but it was nice to see a black warrior bullet tope and a rare Safari appearance. Also loved that the tecnicos theme was the Miami Vice theme.
  15. Until the end of the second fall, I thought this was pretty bad. Both guys were working pretty slow and I wasn't feeling the hate that this feud has produced so much of so far. The injury angle was outstanding. You don't expect such great storytelling from CMLL but this was peak Vince type. The Villanos doing the switcharoo was awesome and fresh and I've never seen Atlantis so animated. Good stuff.
  16. Another chapter in the Satanico/Tarzan Boy feud. I love that Satanico never takes a night off from beating the hell out of Tarzan Boy. A rare Atomicos match in Arena Mexico. The match wasn't much but I always mark out for Bestia's monkey flips. He takes them like a champ.
  17. So many monkey flips to start the match. Some awesome looking monkey flips I should say. We all know Ricky Marvin is awesome and was criminally underused in CMLL but Fugaz was awesome here. Luchawiki says he's now Ramstein who I remember as an opener match rudo. Here, he actually keeps up with Marvin's offense. Hell he might be more impressive than Marvin. Loss is right that this is a good nitro match. Lots of flips and spots with little filler. I also love that the ring says Toy world order.
  18. When did CMLL turn into IWA MS? I know they were struggling at this time but I'm stunned at all the blood. Olimpico takes another beating but gets the last laugh by doing a rudo move of holding the ropes during a pin. I liked what was shown of this. Panther just showing a bloody Olimpico to a mortified crowd to start the second caida was great.
  19. I'm about 99% sure this guy isn't Giant warrior. I saw Giant warrior and he could at least do a decent chokeslam. I like early 2000s AAA but this might be one of the worst matches I've ever seen. Tiger Steele botched every move. EVERY MOVE he attempted. He couldn't even bump correctly. I felt bad for poor Cobarde who is a decent older rudo but he couldn't do anything with this guy. The finish was awful with Tirantes getting choke slammed. Basically just threw himself to the ground. Believe it or not, this wasn't Tiger Steele's first or last match in AAA. I guess Pena liked the guy cause he had a singles match with Cibernetico. I would say this is must watch just to say you have seen the worst match of all time.
  20. Robbie D was the most impressive thing about this match. That dropkick is awesome looking. Rest of the match was just an overbooked mess. Cornette would make Russo proud booking all that ref BS. The Rudo ref was bad and it overshadowed the match. I agree with Loss about the commentary. Cornette was just overbearing and overselling every little thing. Bad match and booking.
  21. I don't want to say this was worked traditional but it was more traditional than the brawls in January. Santanico is still going nuts over Tarzan and Atlantis/Villano bring the hate. The tecnicos got more offense than usual too. Poor Tarzan looks like he injured his ankle/knee on a dive. Fuerza didn't even attempt to catch him. Good match.
  22. The fascinating thing about this is all 4 guys are still major players in the top 2 companies in Mexico these days. That's not very common in these 2000 matches. Olimpico bleeds buckets. So much that Panther is wearing his blood. Not sure if this lead to anything but it's a hell of a start. Love the bloody bullet tope by Olimpico.
  23. Man I've heard some raunchy Jeff G Bailey promos in my life but good lord he went ham on poor Chance Williams. Nice bait and switch with Stone Mountain. That guy was just massive. Never got why he didn't have a bigger role in wrestling. Fun angle.
  24. I had no idea ECW guys were working other indies around this time. I was a big Bad Attitude fan around 2001/2002 so It was nice seeing them in the early days. Michaels looks so indie compared to Young but they made a hell of a tag team. I liked the story of the guys from the "big time" coming down to Georgia to face the big guys there. Just good southern tag team wrestling here. Didn't even mind the finish as it protected all involved.
  25. One of the Board of education looks like Gangrel's son. This wasn't as good as the other TWA stuff but Dragon and Spanky look like a good tag team. HBK doesn't work very well as the trouble shooting matchmaker. Wasn't expecting a dusty finish. Before they could really get going, Venom and his crew run in. Diamond looks totally different from his Memphis run 2 years earlier.
