Jamie Hayter got her nose broken in the match she had with Rosa on Rampage (which funny enough just looked like one of those "shit happens" moments when I watched it) and the story is Britt got so pissed she can't even be around Rosa. Not to mention it was weird how they did the announcement in a backstage promo and Rosa made sure to mention the PPV match would be to crown an INTERIM CHAMPION that didn't seem to be part of the plan since no other mention of it said it was for an interim title. So this seems to be the mystery behind all the "AEW TENSIONS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH" gossip: Eddie took a swing at Sammy, Punk droppin' SHOOTZ to spice up his heel turn, and everyone sick of Rosa's bullshit.

Fightful reported Sammy made some kind of comment about Eddie's physique and Eddie took a swing at him. Apparently the PPV plans were Sammy/Tay vs Eddie/Ruby but the suspension nixed that.
-
Fightful reported that it was Moxley who pushed for the match to be on Dynamite and Punk eventually went along with that. I suppose the question is if that was the finish Moxley came up with or was TK sending a message like @Coffey suggested? Honestly the Rosa deal seems way more like "problem child gets put in time out" to me, her issues were so out in the open DMD was on TV carrying a goddamn sandbag.

I would assume that the trios final will probably be the main event since presumably Kenny will be in it.
-
Well I certainly wasn't expecting THAT, but I suppose it goes with the general AEW kayfabe of "injured person isn't 100% when they first come back"

I thought Garcia was fine, but the problem was having him facing off with Jericho who's way better at this kind of thing at this stage.

In summary, Tony addressed the communication issues, Kenny and the Bucks said their doors are open for everyone as well. He went over the new coaches and the new talent relations people. Jericho and Schiavone spoke as well, and it was mentioned that their Chief Legal Officer (Megha, I presume) sent a letter to Nick Khan and Stephanie over contract tampering allegations.

To be fair the recent WWE 2K game got a big overhaul due to the prior version being a disaster in every possible aspect. ...and yes, EA Sports has been infamous for half-assing their sports games for years which each new version not being much more than a roster update. Having exclusivity on all major sports tends to do that.
-
That's actually a great call out. Revenge and GoldenEye were two games everyone had to have for the N64.
-
The Aki series of wrestling games had the best control scheme, and No Mercy was the apex of their output in terms of graphics (the early WCW games played great but look kind of rough these days).
-
Being around the video game world a lot, it's always amazing how many of those famous LAPSED FANS I come across that still get hyped for N64 era rasslin games and aren't even fans of the current stuff. AEW fans + lapsed fans who recognize the play style + Aki fans who have been dying for a new game in that style might just equal a larger audience than you'd expect is all I'm saying.
-
People have been clamoring for a No Mercy type game since....well.....No Mercy, so you might be underestimating the market. People still speak highly of the Def Jam fighting games mostly because they were designed by the Aki folks and have the same engine as the classing WCW/WWE games. Will it sell like the latest WWE 2K game? Probably not, but a modern No Mercy style game with modern quality of life enhancements (and DLC I assume) will scratch a lot of people's itches.

They announced it was going to be replaced with a NXT Europe brand.

Folks probably won't have as much of a need to go from main roster WWE to NXT as they used to, but having a non North American soccer promotion/regulation system would be an interesting concept. People in the bottom tier of WWE get sent to NXT where maybe they find that spark that gets them back in the bigs. People in NXT who catch fire get a shot at the big stage to see if they can hang, and if not they can always go back down to NXT as a returning hero. Conversely folks at the bottom half of NXT who maybe aren't quite ready can go get reps on Level Up until they have enough of a basic understanding to not get embarrassed on national TV. ...and of course like in soccer, someone dropping two tiers would be "a serious of major, yet also hilarious, fuckups have occurred" kind of thing.
-
It's really nice how they give a C show like Level Up some purpose by establishing it as like the AA team to NXT's AAA team. Folks being able to legit "level up" to NXT makes the show worth watching to catch those "before they were stars" moments, and it's a low pressure place for the noobs to get in reps.
-
It's going to be weird when Regal's kid becomes a regular on NXT. I know they aren't as uptight about acknowledging other promotions, but it's going to be awkward to not mention a guy who was so essential to NXT but is also managing the top group in the "we don't say they are competition but they absolutely are" company.
