  1. I will say there is tons of car crash appeal in watching this "what an old man thinks Zoomers are into " era WWE is in.
  2. I mean, indirectly they do. If the viewership goes completely in the shitter, it would have some effect on how much TV money they can get.
  3. Like, imagine if the payoff for the Hangman angle was Kenny cheating to win and the PPV closed on angry Page fans in the crowd. It's like WWE isn't even bothering to keep up the appearance of giving a shit about their fans at this point.
  4. It's a shame, they built the whole match on Becky repeatedly saying Liv does nothing but fail and then the payoff yet again was the plucky babyface failing and sad facing in the ring afterwards. Yet I'm sure the lesson learned for this will be "well god damn, we can't push Liv she's a flop". "Smiles on faces" everyone!
  5. A lot of times foreigners get targeted for stuff like that with the idea they'll be too scared to refuse/not know where to turn for help. Jack's been around Mexico so he knows the deal so that's why he put it out there in case news comes out he got arrested. Funny thing is these cops must not know who he is or that his US boss could get him out of the country in a private jet within the hour if needed and his Mexico boss is almost certainly no more than 2 degrees of separation at most from some dudes that can cause way more damage than trying to extort some gringos.
  6. Matt mentioned he has spoken to Jeff and he's at home safe so at least there's that much.
  7. Bron's only had like 10-11 total matches to date, him being as good as he is so soon is frankly ridiculous. It's just so annoying and so typically WWE that they have to make a thousand references to his family and legacy but are never allowed to mention it directly. Like they are supposed to be trying to draw the hip young crowd while calling Bron the "Big Bad Booty Nephew" and no one they are targeting would have the faintest clue what they were talking about.
  8. Since Happy Corbin is already doing his gimmick on the main roster, the only thing that would await Grimes on the main roster is a career killing repackaging.
  9. The best value Gargano could have had for AEW would be the symbolism of the heart of NXT jumping ship to the superior show, but then WWE kinda squashed that by redoing the whole brand. Instead of having the hottest name like Cole walk in like a megastar on day one, Johnny's spend the last few months looking like the guy at the club not aware he looks too old to be there.
  10. TBH becoming a coach seems like the best possible option for Johnny too. He's smart enough to know he'll never get a fair shot on the main roster and he's clearly not a fit for the direction they want NXT to go. Getting a coaching gig is right in his wheelhouse and as stated getting the bennies is nice too.
  11. The feeling is that Kyle is probably leaving and Gargano is probably going to stay but take some time off with the impending birth of his child.
  12. WWE booking is really good at producing shots of angry faces in the crowd.
  13. I love how pretty much every Vince story is like the famous softball episode of the Simpsons where Mr. Burns gets increasingly mad at Don Mattingly not getting rid of his sideburns despite Mattingly not having any to speak of.
  14. She was in CMLL for a while as one of their top women, so she's a good fit for the invader group. She's not the greatest wrestler but as we saw on this show she has loads of charisma.
  15. It really doesn't seem like he's the typical "no condition to perform" though. If it wasn't Jeff Hardy it would just look like someone half assing in a house show match that probably happens every day of the year in normal circumstances. Especially how no one else in the match (or the ref) seems to have any concerns. We've all seen it where something goes wrong and everyone just stops until either the moment passes or the person can't continue.
  16. That link seems to be missing some parts
  17. Reports are coming in about a weird situation where Jeff Hardy was working a tag match at a house show, seemed to just kind of slow down and tag out, then leave through the crowd with security following after him. WWE sent him home the next day, and the way the reports seem to be worded is like it's not the "no condition to perform" you would expect but it's almost as if he just said fuck it mid match and just walked out. Obviously considering his past it's easy to make assumptions but this seems like something odd is going on.
  18. Also lol @ Bron having to be the latest NXT/WWE person to play the "ACTUALLY, the thing no one likes was my idea" by claiming that the Bron Breakker name was his idea. I'd believe it if there hadn't already been like 3 other times of this exact thing happen.
  19. FWIW it seems like people in NXT feel like Kyle and Gargano are done after this show, with Fightful getting the quote "even if one stays he'll probably be out for a while" which I would assume is referring to Candace about to be giving birth soon meaning Johnny will be taking a leave wherever he ends up.
  20. Gimmick aside, Imperium is a really good team. I thought the match was pretty good, the stuff at the end doesn't make much sense. It's one thing if you think Kyle's leaving and you want to send him out of the territory, but why have Wagner's heel turn backfire? Even if Kyle stays you just made one of your Young Lions who was getting a push look like a geek.
  21. So the main event was fun, no one looked out of place in spite of the universal "wtf?" reaction to Fish and Lethal. Vikingo won to send the folks home happy and he did all kinds of crazy stuff. Clearly the plan is to do the Omega match once he's healed up which should be bonkers. Also interesting that every match leading up to the main had the rudos go over (Cain's team won but the crowd was 100% behind LA Park so it was a rudo win for them), so right when you thought they were going to pull a WWE they did end up having the guy everyone wanted to win in the main event go over which actually ended up adding a little extra juice to the finish. All in all, a solid show. No MOTYs or anything but they made the best of losing Kenny and put together a fun if not typically chaotic show.
  22. Mexican hero Cain getting booed because he's beating up LA Park is why wrestling is great.
  23. LA Park coming out in a leather jacket like lucha Onita just shows why he is the GOAT.
  24. Cain coming out with a Arizona State Sun Devils mask makes me realize his true calling is being a luchador.
  25. Also they got about 27,000 in the baseball stadium in Monterrey for this show which probably makes it the largest non WWE crowd in North America this year.
