  1. Oh wow, they're going in balls deep right off the bat. Didn't expect the title match to open.
  2. TK has been saying he wants the last shows on TNT to be big, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone shows up.
  3. It probably helps that KO is in a different phase of life in that he's not going to care about not being able to stream on Twitch or outside business opportunities younger folks would. Also he was the guy who Vince booked to give him a shoot headbutt on TV so he obviously sees a lot in him (which is odd considering he's the complete opposite of everything WWE is supposed to be looking for now).
  4. Yeah, props to KO for securing the bag but this has all the earmarks of WWE wanting to change the narrative of everyone fleeing. FWIW I also get the impression WWE believes Gargano is going to return after taking some time off, having NXT open with a video package about him was very off-brand for them to put so much focus on someone not officially under contract anymore.
  5. Ivy Nile is a beast, I love how her finish is a basic move in principle but it looks like she's gonna tear someone's head off.
  6. A power bomb through a poker table, even a gimmicked one, seems like no bueno.
  7. I've been out of commission for a few days due to a stomach bug running through my household like Brock running through geeks, but I love that the Buddy Roberts/Kurt Angle "bad wig and headgear" gimmick is still alive and well in 2021.
  8. Well TK has said many times he's open to working with anyone, even WWE (not that he expects that to happen) if it helps out pro wrestling. Plus there's no harm in helping a company that for all intents and purposes is done. FWIW, I also believe that some kind of deal was made between ROH and AEW, but that doesn't mean it was solely a business decision.
  9. All the heat would be fine if the babyfaces ever got one over on the heels at the end, but even that rarely seems to happen.
  10. Watching the show now, and while I hope everyone involved in ROH is able to land a gig somewhere, I really hope Ian Riccaboni gets hired somewhere. Dude really is one of the more underrated announcers around, and hearing him in "fuck it, they can't fire me now" mode on this show has been awesome.
  11. At the very least Rock gets to see his childhood friend blow up everything the guy who tried to bury his career created. Truly he's winning at life at a level few have reached.
  12. If you had "Braun Strowman shows up on the final (possibly ever) ROH PPV" on your 2021 bingo card, please collect your winnings.
  13. It really seems like she's "worked herself into a shoot" as the Hulkster would say. Much like what happened with her dad it looks like Ashley Fleihr stopped existing and WWE character Charlotte Flair is now her life 24/7.
  14. TBF while I never saw anything in Toni Storm in NXT/WWE, some of her stuff from prior was pretty good. The problem seems to come from WWE having no idea how to market women characters outside of "athletic (which usually just means someone who did sports in college)", "snobby bitch", or "generic create-a-wrestler".
  15. AFAIK that was his actual first ever match, and I learned he also was big into Judo before which makes sense since his match was giving me Ronda vibes in terms of "new to pro wrestling but obviously has had training in other disciplines".
  16. I mean he is at the same level as Jade in the sense it's not like he should be doing 45 minute main events anytime soon, but as a debut match it went as well as anyone could have hoped and then some. Fuego made him look like a million bucks and he came off as someone who is a badass fighter who while new at this seems to be adept at it.
  17. His body basically fell apart on him. He barely made it to the Page match since it got pushed back due to Hangman going on paternity leave. Dude has been working at an insane level since 2016, something was going to give eventually. Also yes, AEW is his bread and butter so that's going to be the promotion he puts priority on if push comes to shove. The idea that AAA is being played like Impact was just doesn't hold water.
  18. Omega vs Vikingo was going to be the main event because Kenny requested it, he really wants the match to happen and there's no reason to believe it won't happen at the next big show after he returns AAA has been working with AEW since the start, and they've already had all the EVPs work big shows for them. This isn't a deal like TK working Impact because he wanted to do the belt collector gimmick for Kenny.
  19. Vikingo won because they want to do the money match with Omega when he comes back.
  20. AAA likes having their titles on US TV. It hasn't ever turned into any measurable business for them, but they see it as a win especially since the lawsuit that is keeping them from airing on US TV.
  21. Dave mentioned that Jeff "wasn't right" even before the match (in response to Garrett saying at first he thought it look like he got his bell rung), which begs the question why the FUCK was he allowed in the ring? They fired Arn for allowing Alica Fox to get in the ring messed up, so they have a track record for not putting up with that kind of nonsense.
  22. Fightful did a story on Hook and said everyone was raving about him in training, like he was the type who on his first day people were saying he already "got it".
  23. Also between Hook and Jungle Boy, if AEW doesn't start producing those 80s style posters of them then they are just leaving piles of money on the table.
  24. TK just sent out the ALL ELITE graphic for Hook already, real recognize real.
  25. Fenix is just on another plane of existence than the rest of us.
