  1. I feel that Rampaging Brock is the closest thing we have today to Brody and Hansen running through crowds in Japan terrifying people. Something extra scary about a dude who could probably legit beat the ass of everyone in the building losing his shit.
  2. Andrade/Pac was a banger and a half, those guys can't have a bad match together. That whole ending segment was FIRE. Black gets a huge pop every time they do the lights out deal, Arn came out to bust some shots, and then FIRED UP Cody to wrap it up.
  3. I wonder it Andrade and Naito get their tear away suits from the same place.
  4. Angry, feisty Tay Conti gives me feelings. Also it always looked tiny, but now that the TBS title is the same size as the TNT title, the women's belt looks like a child's replica.
  5. Britt is SO GOOD at knowing where the camera is at all times.
  6. Watching on DVR now, FTR/Tully vs Lucha Bros/Alex is a match I want to see now.
  7. Once things switched to NXT TWO POINT OOOOOOOHHHHHH their bars suddenly went from "pretty solid for someone who doesn't do this for a living" to "wack as fuck" so it seems like their lines are 100% written by nerds now.
  8. IMO that only proves how awesome Hit Row is that they can debut them in the middle of a damn corn field and they got over. Also I kinda want to fly to Brazil and follow bubba around with one of those 80s big ass boom boxes playing HIIIIIIIIIIIIT ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
  9. I could see him doing that for that exact reason. Bryan's whole decision making process beyond the obvious money matches seems to be "fuck it, why not?"
  10. What could they say? Big Dog got humbled by the Bunny Dog
  11. This was probably the first Saudi show that wasn't mostly cobbled around old guys blatantly just showing up for the paycheck, and the one old guy that *was* there for the paycheck (Goldberg) at least had his working boots on.
  12. Also if someone is pale like Dragunov, it doesn't take much to make them redden up, which would make something like a chop look a million times more brutal. Source: I'm a pale dude and I've had play fights with my nine year old that made me look like I was in a war. My kid does work stiff though, so there's that.
  13. So it looks like they are going to do a belt exchange on SD tonight with the women's titles because fuck ever doing anything different or creative I guess. It's amazing how WWE is always hammering home how many days someone has held a title or how many times they've held a belt, while also making it so meaningless they literally get traded like baseball cards.
  14. I'm not saying Bryan doesn't care about getting fans to appreciate things, but it seems like he's way more the type who just sees cool shit in other matches and is like "I gotta try that next". Dude just loves wrestling in all forms and styles and while he hopes you do too, if you don't that isn't going to stop him from doing what he wants to do.
  15. Having basically zero info on anything Japan pre like, 1993 or so, this is all fascinating to know. I wonder who initiated the deal, Vince seems like he always is more aware of Japan than he lets on and the Japanese wrestling scene has always seen working at MSG as a Holy Grail.
  16. The NHL is indeed the least popular of the Big Four (NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL would be my ranking) but they still got a nice boost on their new TV deal and got back on ESPN, which is a big reason why it wasn't as popular here in the US as ESPN barely acknowledged hockey existed after they were no longer carrying games. So even though they don't pull NBA numbers in terms of viewers they probably still get pretty decent ad rates.
  17. Man XPW was such a wild story even at the time I remember how even at the time I couldn't believe this shit was actually happening.
  18. The funny thing is that in kayfabe all Bobby Heenan ever did was give Hulk a run for his money and even Andre couldn't win the title until he was managed by Ted DiBiase. He was a way better manager in a kayfabe sense in the AWA with Bockwinkel. Captain Lou is probably the best manager in WWF/E history with leading like 16 different tag champions over the course of like 30 years. Maybe Arnold Skaaland too since he managed Bruno and Bob Backlund.
  19. Truly WWE is using these shows to put smiles on people's faces!
  20. .ehhhh Pro Wrestling Only and all, but lets not pretend there are any clean hands in the Middle East. At best you're playing to finish second in the "who did the worst shit" Olympics.
  21. I mean, we're obviously just seeing ROH American Dragon in AEW having MOYTC's nearly every time. It wasn't a case of me expecting vast improvement leaving WWE, It's a case of knowing Bryan adapted to the limits in WWE by considering it a parody of wrestling (in his own words) and now that he is no longer in that environment I fully expected ROH AmDrag back.
  22. Also to be fair his promos stand out so much because he's one of the selected few allowed to not get scripted to death, he's still one of like 3 people in WWE who can legit get me interested in a match with their words.
  23. I always thought it was kind of unfair to hold that against promoters, since in the end the only one who didn't run out of money was Vince. Heyman's booking was legendary and it reshaped the entire business since it got the industry leaders to change what they were doing to match it. The whole Attitude Era was just ECW with a bigger budget.
  24. TBF I was still reeling from JBL putting Bix and his story over on Twitter. I'm almost certain JBL did one of those "butthurt WWE employee/contractor bashes the wrestling media" tweets at him at some point.
  25. Even if you throw out his entire Paul E. Dangerously run, his recent "advocate" run has made him HOF manager status for me. His promos and ability to draw interest in programs has him on my Mt. Rushmore of managers with Heenan, Cornette, and Hart
