  1. A bright spot in all this was reading how his wife would stay at the tapings even though she was exhausted and needed sleep because of how much Brodie Jr loved being there. I love too how even people who only knew/worked with Brodie for a brief time felt like they knew him forever. It's a sign of how great he was a s a person to make everyone around him feel like they've been friends their own lives.
  2. Considering Dave mentioned he was talking to Tony Khan until 3am Jax time about ideas to honor Brodie for the show this week, I don't see him rushing to hire the guy trying to start conspiracy theories.
  3. I kinda hope the wife story is true just because I can't imagine someone would be dumb enough to think being stiff with Steve f'n Williams would end well for him.
  4. It was so typical WWE. At first it was awesome having Alexa call Randy out on his bullshit, and if they would have ended it there it would have been great. Instead they did the WWE thing of having segments like this last about 2 minutes too long and we got that stupid ass ending.
  5. I mean, there's not much an agent can do if your weakness is "keeps hurting people", to be fair.
  6. Man, if only Nia could learn to work even a little....she's got pretty much everything else figured out.
  7. I wonder if Omos has asked ol' Jaxson if All Lives Matter
  8. If this was AAA, Randy vs Alexa would be on the next ppv.
  9. Randy punting Huskus the Pig needs to become a meme.
  10. So Alexa going from the Fiend's Harley Quinn to being an eight year old with her own playground is quite the development.
  11. Shanya is very good at coming up with ways to make it look like someone's arm is broken.
  12. Drew sounds like a dude trying to keep it together on commentary, such a contrast to the announcers going on as normal.
  13. Doubling down and being an asshole when presented with information that proves him wrong is kind of a Snowden trademark at this point. Anyway, Dave mentioned he expects AEW to do a lot this week on Dynamite to honor him. I wonder if they will just do an entire tribute show or if they will just have the "everyone on the stage for the 10 bell salute" deal and try to continue with whatever was originally planned. It would be kind of weird and possibly in bad taste to try to advance any angles in a show designed as a tribute.
  14. Counterpoint to our old pal Snowden, when a college basketball player who recovered from COVID collapsed on the court and nearly died, to my knowledge there weren't any columns on ESPN.com asking of the player's family and the NCAA were secretly colluding to withhold information. And the NCAA is probably just as scummy as the rasslin' business. I've never been a reader of the Torch but it's always been my understanding that Bruce was on the Dave/Wade level of journalistic integrity and I was shocked to see him write such sub CLICK 4 NEWZ level garbage
  15. I always thought that was another layer of stupid about Vince being mad he couldn't do a Southern accent. Dude had a great voice that seemed tailor made for practically any audio format imaginable. I would have loved for him to be able to go full Bruiser Brody "intelligent monster" in WWE. It would have been a great way to differentiate him from the Wyatt Family and they wouldn't have really had to change his look at all.
  16. I just bought a shirt from ProWrestlingTees since they came out and made a statement that the proceeds will go to his family (I fully expected them to do that anyway but it's nice they officially confirmed it). Plus it was a really cool shirt to boot, the one hyping up the Cody match.
  17. Yeah, in 1990 Taker was protected more than maybe any character in WWF/E history. Now, a character like his would be on TV multiple times a week plus monthly PPV shows all while dealing with 50/50 booking, I think this whole discussion may have just revealed how integral Pat Patterson was to the company. I'm fairly certain you can point to the time WWE creative started going downhill being about the same time Pat was no longer an everyday presence.
  18. Even the Toronto Maple Leafs (his favorite hockey team) shared their condolences. Several folks have noted wrestling and hockey were his 1a and 1b passions.
  19. I was thinking about this, and I figure it's because he's the opposite of pretty much every wrestler who ever died in his 40s or younger that wasn't due to some sort of accident. So many others were "well it was only a matter of time" for a multitude of reasons. None of the usual wrestling warning signs were in play, can't even blame the usual 2020 boogeyman of COVID. Just a universally loved guy who left us too soon.
  20. I get how hashtags can seem impersonal, but it's a way to get the word out in the age we live in. I saw a couple of Japanese wrestlers like Shingo that shared their condolences using the #RIPBrodieLee tag and I'd wager that's probably how they found out.
  21. What devastating news. Heartbreaking for the family and also for Chis "mookieghana" Harrington as well as they were friends from growing up in the Western NY area. He would occasionally mention him when he was doing the Wrestlenomics podcast and you could tell he loved the guy.
  22. Also when Taker started, we'd never really seen anything like that before. I'll never forget watching Survivor Series when he debuted and the crowd was in legit awe at what they were looking at. We've had 30 years of every supernatural gimmick being called the "next Undertaker" no matter if that's fair or not, and pretty much everyone is going to look like a failure in comparison.
  23. At first I thought we were talking about Swoggle, but I remembered his name is Dylan Postl.
  24. Time to watch the Big Dog give his family the gift of food on the table.
  25. To me the most ridiculous part was all the refs *outside* the ring imploring them to not fight.
