I was coming at it more in terms of Ian being by all accounts (that I've seen) the most wholesome IRL babyface and if that guy's talking shit about you, you know you probably fucked up good. I agree with your assesment of 99% of people in the biz, but if anyone was in that 1% it would probably be Ian.
TBH 99.9% of the people praising that movie were q-plled morons and I would wager Ian probably is aware of his political beliefs.
Anyone who has those beliefs deserves to be pointed and made fun of so I feel pretty comfortable in saying fuck Kevin Kelly.
I mean if Ian goddamn Riccaboni of all people is calling you out on your bullshit that should be a very clear sign you messed up.
Nothing in pro wrestling is better than heel Rock being completely extra. Dude is the Tom Brady of rasslin. You may not like the guy but you can't deny he's the best to do this by a large margin.
As much as it would make sense storyline wise to do GUNTHER vs Gable and have Gable win, it would seem a little anti climatic to have the record setting IC title run ended by the THANKYEW guy. Maybe this is their way to pivot to Chad Gable: Serious Wrestler, and if so I'd gladly take the L for my comment. Honestly I hope it is.
FWIW Dave mentioned in an update that AEW didn't even bother to ask WWE if they could use any of their footage of Sting, I suppose they assumed they'd say no and didn't even want to waste their time.
Vince = pro wrestling to 99% of TV execs, and WWE has been a top ratings draw for cable forever, so I wouldn't put it past some TV company giving him a flier.
However I would think he's going to have his hands full defending the lawsuits to be starting any new businesses wrestling related or otherwise.
AEW is an embarrassment of riches at this point.... Okada, Ospreay, Danielson, Joe, Swerve.....holy shit man.
Also I couldn't help but laugh at Darby being all "welp I might die on Everest" in his promo.
So it made sense in context of them being best friends who went different paths, Tenta went back to Japan and Fred ended up falling on his ass on live TV.
Haku losing his mind laughing made the whole thing worth it tho.
On a show where only the main event really mattered, every match delivered. I don't think it was BEST PPV EVAR but it was the best one AEW has had in a while.
How would you guys book the Sting match? You know he wants to go out putting someone over but the angle has been built up for the Bucks to get their comeuppance for beating up his kids. But then you have to consider the tag titles as well. We all know TK likes him some tournaments, so I assume that'd be the plan.
As far as Swerve goes he reminds me a lot of when Stone Cold turned babyface and was still doing what he did as a heel but instead was doing it to other heels. Swerve has such undeniable charisma and has got so over it almost doesn't even matter if it makes sense for him to be cheered, he just is at this point.
