Honestly, Juice does look like he's working a 1990 AWA TV taping with that outfit.

Finally got back in to NJPW World, stream's kind of framey but it reminds me of watching bootleg Japanese streams on Realplayer back in the 90s so I can manage. Missed the Jr. tag match but at least I get to see part of ZSJ/Sanada. People bag on Juice's new look, but Sanada's out here with that hair making him look like a Japanese Moondog Spot.

Doesn't seem as full as yesterday, but seems like over 30,000 easy. Also Jushin Liger's retirement killed NJPW World, stream crashed and now it's back to the "The live stream will start soon" video.

Well that was an unfortunate time for the stream to poop out.

So looking at Liger's history and how he has won titles in New Japan, WCW, and CMLL...I was trying to think of anyone else who's won titles in three different countries (in major promotions) and the only other one who comes to mind is Vader.

AEW just announced Dave Brown will be announcing on Dark.
-
So Dave mentioned the Ford GT used in the Jericho segment was Shad Khan's personal car. They were going to rent a Lamborghini for the segment and Shad's so high on AEW at the moment they said they could use his car for it. This was in context of people being all "oh AEW will be dead soon because it's owned by money marks". Also mentioned that Jericho and Tanahashi came up with the idea to involve the AEW title as a way to add intrigue to their match, and they asked Tony Khan if it was okay for New Japan to mention it. It should be noted that AEW did *not* mention New Japan on TV or on their website and that was also a Tony directive. Dave summed up the relationship as better than it has been, but there is still a lot of work to be done to fully smooth things over. Apparently a lot of it is on the New Japan side as it seems like they didn't take it well when the Elite left and were doing some petty bullshit because of it. Possibly referencing the visa issues Omega had a while back.

Surely you mean Southern Sassy Liberty Belle!
-
They announced that they opened up some seats in the outfield sections by the big screens that are usually tarped off, so it looks like Day 1 will have over 40,000 folks in attendance and will be the biggest WK attendance in years.

SAVE US SHEAMUS
-
"He's short, it's funny, we can't help it"....that pretty much sums up WWE doesn't it?
-
WWE branding is what it is, but they are working hard to shoehorn "Sassy Southern Belle" in as much as they can.
-
AEW getting 967,000 viewers was pretty impressive considering it was going up against a college football bowl games.
-
Corey's still on his bullshit, saying anyone who does a podcast about wrestling secretly wants to work for WWE. Bryan chimed in to mention if Corey put in the work Wade did he'd be able to do the podcast he wants to do, which was a pretty solid (yet accurate) burn.
-
I always assumed "People who report on WWE all secretly want to to work for us" seemed like something that gets imprinted in the brains of anyone inside WWE.
-
So listening to the show Dave did in Japan, he said there was a change in the relationship between AEW and NJPW. New Japan acknowledged Jericho as AEW champ on their website (previously mentions of AEW were forbidden), and Jericho was not at Dynamite because he is already in Japan (Dave pointed out he doesn't have a match until 1/5, and Moxley's match is 1/4 and he was on the show). The implication was clear that losing AXS a year before they were expecting to, plus Jericho seemingly mending some fences, seems to be making it a possibility we'll see the partnership everyone knows is best for everyone.

I'm sure it will work out fine because Arn is Arn and even in 2020 that's still going to be awesome. The problem is that Cody and Brandi were such a good team it's a hard act to follow. I get she wanted to do her own thing and not be pigeonholed as "Cody's wife", but it seemed like breaking up one solid act for two so-so ones. Bringing in Arn does create all kinds of interesting opportunities. Beyond the obvious stuff with Tully, they could do a storyline where Dustin is worried his brother is being managed by the guy who turned on him back in WCW.

JR's eroding skills have been discussed ad nauseam but he still is great at being disgusted by heel tactics.
-
I lol'ed at Jericho offering Mox an "Executive VP" role in the Inner Circle.
-
Lana is doing her damnedest to try to work this angle on her Twitter, admonishing people for assuming someone isn't gay because they've never mentioned it before. The irony of course is if she really was gay she'd be the first one announcing it to everyone on social media.
-
Now he just has to hope Vince doesn't think he married above his pay grade and start trying to split them apart.
-
It is pretty funny looking at social media and seeing folks freaking out/predicting doom for AEW when they've probably had the best first year any promotion could hope for. Sure they made some mistakes, and maybe the Elite are realizing that there was more work involved than they bargained for running a company, but it seems overall they're doing pretty good in an industry so dominated by one company there's large swaths of fans not used to anything different.

Looks like Andrade popped the question to Charlotte to ring in the New Year and she said yes, per her his Twitter.

Melina is, so defending a guy who seems to have multiple sexual assault accusations is the last thing the NWA needs to deal with.
