Wasn't expecting Garza to lose the belt already, but I get the feeling this is a "give NXT UK a win that seems kinda important" move.

Still not sure why heel Prince Fin Balor still does the posing in his entrance designed to get the crowd to play along. I mean I know it's because everyone in WWE needs to have an entrance like a video game character, but still.
-
Perhaps, but it seems the only thing the Giant WWE Braintrust of Creativity can come up with for Shorty G is "someone makes short jokes, so he cuts a promo about how size doesn't matter before getting beaten in the end".

AEW has sold 10,000 tickets for the 3/25 Dynamite show in Newark, which is probably the biggest arena they are going to run in for TV depending on how they stage the show in Atlanta next month.

Off topic, but I had someone call in to my work today with a translator because they only spoke Portuguese and all I could think off is "where is good bubba KawadaSmile when I need him".

It certainly would be something to see him keep up the Mauro-ness for the entire hour plus Rumble match.
-
The big problem is Mauro needs produced, and (apparently) there's no one in WWE who has the skills to coach someone with his issues that won't result in him having another episode. Thus he's allowed to run amok and ruin what should be great moments. I will confess I haven't watched every event he ever called, but he wasn't nearly this overbearing doing boxing or MMA so clearly there's a way it can be done.

I liked the subtle touch of the tea bag in Kenny's drink to show he wasn't partying like Page was.

I popped for Joey coming out with the "white chick on a Caribbean vacation" cornrows.

I'll cop to being excited to see any development beyond "hey she's a dentist" in terms of character. At least "asshole dentist" is something.
-
Maybe they have something with heel Britt. I was certainly more entertained by her insulting poor Tony.

Matt Riddle posted a tweet saying we should all watch WWE this week because big things are set to happen. If that means they are going to put him with Brock I'd be down with that.
-
She was posting vids of her running the ropes at the PC testing her knees out, so barring setbacks I'd expect to see her in the Rumble.

It sounds impersonal, but wrestlers are like real estate. They're worth what people will pay for them. If anything, two decades of only one major player depressed wrestler value to the point that them being overvalued in 2020 could also be seen as a long overdue market correction. I believe they 100% thought Marty going to AEW was a fait accompli and it was just a matter of waiting for his last deal to end. It doesn't seem like it even occurred to them that there was any other option. Like I'm sure they figured maybe WWE would swoop in with a completely stupid money offer, but they didn't seem to consider ROH offering the keys to the kingdom. Which, to be fair, this is the promotion owned by the company that had to be dragged kicking and screaming to spend the money for proper TV production not that long ago and (despite saying they might at some point) never seeming like they were actually going to spend the money needed to compete. I also think it kind of revealed Marty wasn't as close with those guys as they let on. When Cody and the Bucks announced they were forming AEW, you knew Kenny was going to join them despite him trying to create some air of uncertainty. You knew he'd never want to go to WWE and be a cog in their machine, the only real question was would NJPW go all in on the guy they were building their US expansion around. They seemed to think Marty was the same deal, and never considered the alternative. Having said all that, I think there is a distinction between that and the time honored WWE tactic of promising or implying something they had no intention of delivering. This was just a company that despite all the successes is still a new company capable of getting caught with their pants down. Like rovert said, you live and learn.

Even when they did care it was kind of embarrassing that despite single-handedly inventing feminism and women's wrestling, they couldn't find enough people to fill a Rumble without bringing back legends and/or using not-ready-for-prime-time folks from the PC as filler.

I kinda dig Mojo as the 24/7 champ who actually kills the geeks who always chase the title.
-
Glad to see Humberto come back. Also glad to see Heyman apparently shops in Vince's closet for his suits now. Pretty sure my aunt had a couch made from the same material and design as his suit tonight.

Finally getting a new content drop, Prime Time Wrestling from 1989 coming on January 20.
-
They should go all the way old school and have it be a medal like the Mid South TV title was at the start.
-
It really goes under the radar (even when they were the hot promotion) how many cash grab "tryouts" seem to surround ROH and ROH-adjacent folks.
-
Maybe Tony having more control in booking will mean the Bucks and Kenny will stop being booked as midcarders now? It already seems like Kenny is becoming more of at least an upper midcard guy instead of the geek he was looking like before.

I laugh every time ESPN shows the "athletes in other sports doing the Conor MacGregor strut" commercial and include Vince doing his Vince walk as if he wasn't doing that decades before Conor .

Yeah he's said he wants to add a secondary title but didn't want to have it be right at the start of the company. Adding a second show and being able to potentially feature more guys seems to be a pretty good time to do it.
