  1. Watching Smackdown and it's wonderfully kayfabulous that in WWE canon Mayor Glen and DEMON KANE are separate people.
  2. They would often do that when dubbing the music would be too much work/not possible due to how the show is constructed. It was pretty common on the old WWE 24/7 VOD service, it's possible it's something they overlooked when a lot of that got restored for the network.
  3. Considering Dave's probable sources in AEW, it sure seems they thought they still had a chance to land him. It also makes sense if Cody and the gang got played like that, it would have been the reason for Tony to take more of the reigns in booking after seeing his boys get clowned.
  4. I guess Marty must have the magic touch, since they are getting a ton of New Japan guys to appear on Supercard of Honor this year. Between that and having Rush create an Ingobernales faction in ROH, they're already more interesting in 2020 than they were all of last year.
  5. Yeah the point wasn't that what he said was horribly offensive, it was just a thoughtlessly dumb thing for a company executive to say in a public setting. It's one of those things that will probably cause the stock price to crater if/when something happens to Vince because this is the guy being groomed to take over.
  6. So the new Observer mentions Marty Scurll was the first choice to be the leader of the Dark Order and the main event beatdown that everyone hated was supposed to be capped off with his reveal. Then ROH decided to break open their piggy bank and all that went down the tubes.
  7. It seems like they just decided to take Charlie Sheen's life and make it a wrestling gimmick, substituting cocaine use for weed.
  8. The funny part is thinking the new era of wrestling is nothing but fake looking flippy shit is a tale as old as time. Lou Thesz said the same thing about Harley Race as people say now about Kenny Omega. Only difference is now we're the grumpy old men.
  9. Considering what he's doing on his Youtube channel and the timing of his contract ending, it seems like it's lining up to possibly be Matt Hardy.
  10. The great thing about DDP is he always had an older looking face so now that he is old he doesn't look that much different than he did in his WCW days. I know Dave can't say anything positive without the "OMG PAID BY AEW" dummies piling on, but he's spot on about it really is nice to see AEW not doing the WWE route of bringing in legends just to humiliate them.
  11. So apparently a segment with RVD and his girlfriends had some nip slips and got Impact's Twitch channel banned for violating TOS.
  12. NXT being witty by turning the former Robbie E of TNA fame into a Tony Kahn spoof gimmick.
  13. I also love Page and Kenny's tag team gimmick being "drunk guy and his sober friend who has to keep apologizing for his buddy being an asshole".
  14. I love how Corbin seems to be hate-watching AEW on his twitter feed.
  15. People were posting in the catch all AEW thread. Also I popped for them doing the Dusty-Road Warriors angle with Jericho and Mox.
  16. Shelley's a coach at the PC I believe.
  17. Hey, he messed up and copped to it. In an era where most would double down and make things worse, at least he realized the mistake and apologized.
  18. The Soulman had one of the sweetest dropkicks of his era too.
  19. Just like garbage wrestlers grew up idolizing Mick, a lot of Japanese wrestlers grew up idolizing Misawa/Kobashi and wanted to emulate the AJPW 90s style. It took Misawa dying in the ring for the point to finally be driven home that head drops aren't great for long term health and even then you still have guys like Hiromu who break their necks (granted that was an accident) but feel they need to prove they can still take crazy bumps when they come back.
  20. Considering Vince would be Vince regardless, I can't fault Mick for the bad skit comedy. I believe he has stated some regret that his career inspired people to do more dangerous bumps without realizing he only did them because that was the only way he thought he could get over in the era he did them.
  21. Yeah we need to not look at this like it's WWE adding time to their already bloated list of shows, it's adding another hour to a promotion that clearly can use it to build their characters and storylines better.
  22. He is pretty good at making crap WWE verbiage work, which makes him look like Dusty in his prime compared to most of today's WWE.
  23. Wrestling in the US lives and dies on TV money. If the people giving you that money want more shows, you give them more shows. Which is why WWE can't get rid of the third hour of Raw despite it being a show killing anchor most weeks. AEW would be the one group at the moment that would benefit from more time. They can expand on their storylines and gimmicks that currently play out on their various YouTube shows. WWE was already over saturated before NXT got an extra hour, AEW wasn't. Now if they end up with 7 hours a week like WWE has, then you can make the case they are overextended too. Plus I also get the feeling we're going to see a lot of names appearing in AEW soon that will easily fill out any extra TV time they get.
  24. Not to mention they are once again having a Saudi show the day before a Smackdown show, where folks are going to have to rush to the airport after the show and hope the Vince & Prince Connection don't have another blowup.
  25. He did, but to be fair that NFL dude was Lawrence Taylor who's probably the only person who could out-cocaine Vince.
