Obviously they are setting up the War Games match, but who's going to be on the babyface team? Bianca/Charlotte/Shotzi....and? Also Kairi's elbow us up there with Julia Hart's moonsault when it comes to "moves by tiny people that look like they are crushing their opponent".

I love how Swerve's gimmick is like a psychopath and Nana somehow makes it even better. The crowd doing the Nana dance got a pop from me. Speaking of the crowd, based on reports I was expecting a late era AWA crowd but it looked......fine? Last minute walkup? Creative camera work?

I'm starting to think the Devil is going to end up being Jack Perry. Clearly any time out for whatever the hell happened with Punk should be done with by now, and it would be a way to work him back in as a top guy.

MBS is a big fan so I would expect WWE shows to continue until there's a...change.... of regime.

This is true, but in their ever ongoing quest to capture the casual fan, having her out there looking like a bride on her wedding night isn't the best way to do that. Either you're going to give the impression the show is trashy, or (worse) you'll attract the creepos who are *way* too into it if you get my drift,

Tiffany's ring gear makes me think of bad Divas bra-and-panties matches which I don't think is the vibe they should be aiming for

Legitimate hate like Bubba in ECW asking a girl in the front row learned how to suck dick from her mom = not a great thing in modern wrestling. Legitimate hate like Bully Ray in Impact/TNA by being an actually despicable heel with no redeeming qualities (like how MJF was up until the Cole stuff) = actually pretty great in modern wrestling. As someone who grew up with Tully Blanchard as my heel role model, anyone who tries to be an actual unlikeable asshole heel instead of the "cool heels" that have been done to death since the nWo gets a thumbs up from me.

If Cody doesn't bleed in a War Games match he'll be dishonoring his family legacy.

I wondered why they weren't saying the name of the city they're in, until I saw the Baby Penguins logo on the ceiling when Ivar did his moonsault. I guess Wilkes-Barre is too tiny a city to get mentioned.

I was thinking that, having someone doing mostly the same gimmick with Giula's in ring ability would be bad for Tiffany.

I like that idea other than the part where Logan has the belt that long.

IMO all the matches delivered in ring, only the women's 5 way didn't really do it for me but even that match had Shanya locking in three different submissions on three different people at the same time so it had that going for it.

I thought he held up pretty well, he had the crowd believing he might actually pull off the upset. He didn't look like he didn't belong by any means. Even the commentary was putting over how he proved he belongs at the top when it was over.

Even funnier, apparently Billy was the one who was pushing that to be on the PPV and it probably just fucked his new TV deal.

Show wasn't bad, mostly predictable. Kairi making her return here was a surprise to me but we knew it was happening at some point.

WWE TV - 10/30 - 11/3 - Really Gonna Just Feed Him To The Big Dog

lol this seems like a rib -
Cole and MJF were hugely over when Cole's ankle exploded. Their chemistry had goofy shit like Kangaroo Kick and Double Clothesline getting mega pops from the crowd. The whole story of MJF finally feeling true friendship was silly but at the same time had heart behind it that made it easy to get behind. IMO all the stuff with Roddy and AAAAAAAAAAAADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM is funny but that IMO started things down the path of no longer being compelling since it's a one note joke being stretched too far. The Kingdom guys are working their asses off to save it (the NeckStrong song was great) but its still going nowhere.

This is a bit unfair for a couple reasons: after 20+ years of a monopoly there's TONS of "WWE lifers" because there was nowhere else for them to go, and also I don't see how they are constantly pushing WWE lifers other than Edge (who I assume probably signed a big money deal). Billy Gunn was used perfectly to help get the Acclaimed over, and the only one who would fit the bill is Chris Jericho which you can make the case is finally running out of gas after being one of the top ratings draws for the first 2-3 years of the company, and even he was putting over the young guys. This isn't like TNA where all the ex WCW guys squashed the homegrown guys to the point where it became a meme.

I suppose AEW may be a victim of its own high expectations, but I didn't think the show was as dire as everyone else seems to think it was. No it wasn't setting the world on fire, but I don't think anything was *bad*, just not at the level other shows they've done. It's not that they didn't try to advance any angles, you had Matt flipping out over Hangman bailing on them, you had the next beat in the Skye Blue/Julia Hart story, and you had the payoff of MJF finally agreeing to team with The Acclaimed. Was it Okada/Danielson? No, but it was Perfectly Acceptable TV Wrestling which may not be enough for AEW after the bar they set.

Halloween Havoc night two, lets go! One of the houses on my street had a cooler of beers and White Claws for the parents of trick or treaters so I'm in the proper frame of mind. -
So the word is the Danielson injury happened in the match with Andrade the week before on Collision and the Okada stuff was just an angle.
