The KSA sports authority sent out a release apologizing for an ad that aired during the show that apparently featured women. Also it mentioned that they made it clear to WWE that nothing involving women wrestling would be allowed either on the show or in advertising. But keep changing those minds, Paul.

So today's WO update mentions Zayn was kept off the show because WWE is big on respecing local cultures and customs. Which one would imagine mean not using a guy who's been pretty vocal raising funds to help people underneath the bombs probably being paid for by the Saudis.

Yeah if you look at it close, it's just Heenan taking one of his ridiculous bumps the moment the belt tighens slightly.
-
The spot where she kicks her feet back at her opponent like a cat burying its poop in the litter box always gets a chuckle from me.

You may be thinking of the in-ring "debate" angle they did with Heenan and Ken Patera right after Patera returned from prison. They bleeped Heenan during it, I think when he made comments about Patera's wife and kids. It ended with one of the more violent bits of WWF TV from the time where Patera took Heenan's belt off and used it to strangle/whiplash him. Heenan wore a neck brace for months to sell it Yes! That's it exactly. Thank you! I remember that as well as Ken's follow up promo the next week when he was upset that Bobby had called his wife "things other than Mrs. Patera".

AAF, stupid as it is, will end up beating XFL to the punch in nearly every aspect to the point there's really not much reason for it to exist (if there ever was one to begin with). The real question will be if any WWE investors end up asking about Vince clearly taking money from one business to fund another.

I love the Yano interview where he said he was proud of Nakamura for bringing low blows to an international stage (low blows are part of Yano's gimmick in New Japan if you didn't know).
-
The Japan show was just a normal international houseshow until Brock decided to work it (IIRC he was going to Japan anyway to visit someone and it was a "might as well get a payday while I'm here" deal), nowhere near the same level as this show.
-
That's going to be kind of weird for them to explain why the champion's manager wasn't at such a big show, especially if Brock loses there. I mean, other than just coming out and saying "Jews aren't particularly welcome there" that is.

Somewhere Colt Cobana is waiting for his phone to ring.....
-
He's out with a knee injury anyway. What's the second punch, btw? I know he's Israeli, is he gay as well (that's the only other thing I could guess would bother the Saudis)?

Not to mention the logic doesn't make sense. They're going to affect change by going to a country with a horrible record toward women's rights and.....do exactly what that country would do any other time? Yeah that will certainly show them by taking their fat checks and telling the women to stay home. Plus I love how he makes it sound like it's just a weird culture thing, like eating strange instead of keeping half the population in the stone age. Fun fact: if you ever look into why women are treated the way they are, it's because the belief is if women were allowed to go freely and dress however they like then men wouldn't be able to control themselves.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

It would have been nice to see Billy get more time to go where he wanted to, but his track record probably meant it was only a matter of time before there was some blowup causing him or other important people to leave. It's kind of been his MO. He's kind of like Jim Cornette in that regard only instead of rants and threats of bodily harm he's more passive agressiveness and gaslighting folks. -
I have a bunch of DVDs that OVW would sell of their weekly TV before WWE put their foot down, it was really good stuff. One thing though, is that it will really make you mad to see how WWE missed the boat on a lot of guys. The best example probably would be seeing how Johnny Jeter was great in OVW, but got his passion for the busines beat out of him by getting stuck in the Spirit Squad.

Hyping SaudiMania while Ronda's theme was blaring in the background was pretty much peak WWE.

So Sami's new thing where he pulls out reading glasses and puts them on the end of his nose to read has to be a rib on Vince. Every time I've seen Vince wear his glasses he does the same thing.

Impact also finally got new title belts that don't look like someone put stickers on the old ones to cover the TNA logos. Gotta hand it to them, they are working hard to build good will after Dixie did her damnednest to salt the Earth. TV has been improving, and this PPV was miles better than anything they've done in ages. They aren't going to turn things around on a dime, but at least you can see there's effort being made. Also is Don Callis the best politician in wrestling right now or what? He's an exec with Impact, who work with AAA, while being a commentator (and getting involved with angles like the Jericho stuff) for New Japan who work with CMLL. I know New Japan probably doesn't give a shit about the feud, but CMLL has been famously petty when their guys are anywhere near anyone associated with AAA. Not to mention Impact also works with Pro Wrestling Noah, and IIRC it wasn't a happy breakup when they stopped working with New Japan. Somehow he's making it all work so far, which might be the most impressive part to all this. -
All the socio-political issues aside, another reason to skip this show is not needing another marathon slog less than a month after Mania.

So on tonight's PPV Scott Steiner did a top rope Frankensteiner. In 2018. And everyone survived. -
A lot of the early content on the network (ie: all the PPV shows) were just re uploads of the WWE 24/7 versions which were done when WWF had to be censored. The only thing that was undone from that era was restoring all the Benoit related stuff, other than the large amounts of commentary edited off the 2007 Night of Champions show since it was the announcers repeating that Benoit was not there due to a family emergency (which of course sounds about a billion times worse today without the context that the show was the day before everything was discovered).

FWIW, I don't think people are asking for a ban based on that. It's just something weird. What gets under people's skin is him posting in a manner that is either an attempt to troll or wilful ignorace. That you have to make multiple attempts at reading it first is just the icing on the shodate cake.

Yeah, that seems to be pretty much a lock at this point. I enjoy him but it does surprise me a bit. He doesn't seem like the body type they typically like. The did just sign War Machine, and they have Joe, so it's not like it's an automatic no like it used to be with them.
