  1. Vince is known to famously hate smoking of any kind, which considering that makes his views on pot make sense in a weird way.
  2. Considering the substances wrestlers have relied on in the past to deal with the daily bumping and the grind of travel, it's ridiculous that WWE would have it on their list. They don't even count it as a Wellness failure, they just fine you for it. So they just create an environment where people either accept it as a "pot tax", or rely on potentially more dangerous substances.
  3. Guys with legit cred like Angle and Brock will always be loved, but like the whole NJPW roster seems to mark out for Cheeseburger so who knows?
  4. The idea that WWE will do something progressive with all this Saudi money seems hopelessly naive. I hope to be proven wrong, but history doesn't seem to suggest that is likely.
  5. This is one of those moments where WWE should be happy they fly under the radar most of the time, any other sports league or entertainment company would have got crushed by the media for this kind of thing.
  6. I think the Golden Lovers/Young Bucks match rating really got under people's skin since there's a pocket of folks who don't want to give the Bucks even the slightest of credit for being good enough to be part of of a five star match.

    Wrestlemania 34

The whole point of the angle was that Braun didn't need or want a partner, Kurt was forcing him to have a partner, and in response he chose the most ridiculous person possible as a way of saying "fuck you". It's not WWE's fault that everyone was fantasy booking it to be Joe or Big Cass or whoever.
  8. I think it's part they wanted to have him in the fold because he was starting to get buzz on the indies and part have him be an experienced guy for the newbies to get ring time with.

    Wrestlemania 34

Well the Nicholas thing was clearly a one shot deal (I guess techincally two since he showed up on Raw to give up the belt), and Judy Bagwell was a thing that went on for weeks. People need to pump the brakes on the "This is WCW level" nonsense.
  10. The Crown Prince is giving out stupidly large sums to anyone taking part in his Vision 2030 plan, which is more or less a PR campaign to get Saudi Arabia seen as more than a super conservative theocracy run by oil money.
  11. Jesus, dude. But to be honest, Charlotte being bigger actually added to the visuals of the Iconic Duo dragging her dead weight to the ring. Kind of like slaying a giant. On that matter, I'd say the beatdown started on the mic. They KILLED Charlotte's face promos to the point where if she does that again, she'll be proving the heels right. I mean, it was more about the ridiculous robe they had her wearing just to cut a promo when she's already nearly a foot taller than the rest of the women.
  12. That's how I took it. Hogan was basically thinking "I'm pretty sure he's going to play ball but if he decides not to I'm kind of fucked, so I better make sure of it without pissing him off". Dave mentioned how the Maeda deal happened not long before this and how it ruined Andre's rep as someone to fear if he decides to shoot, but it's not like Hulk was a trained shooter. Plus it seemed silly to think a guy like Andre would decided to fuck up the largest show in wrestling history.
  13. He tweeted "bury me softly, brother" when the match was first announced. The rumor mill keeps stating he asked for his release at some point, but it's clear he's in don't-give-any-fucks mode right now. What's really puzzling to me is with the Daniel Bryan thing you understood he wasn't the kind of guy Vince normally would get behind. With Rusev, he basically is a walking Vince wet dream with his look and size. Plus he actually got himself (and Aiden English) over, it boggles the mind that he still gets jobbed out.
  14. WIth her being so much taller than everyone, it looked like the Iconic Duo was beating up Big Bird.
  15. Yeah, Renee's pretty much the best person they've had in the backstage interviewer role in a long time. She was great on Talking Smack, so it's an odd take to have to think she's terrible.
  16. Man, I want Bryan/Miz so bad now that it can actually happen.
  17. He's from Baltimore, we gave the world Corey Graves and Elias. Really? Could have sworn that was a Yinzer accent. Yup. It's close though. Scott Van Pelt used to do a Baltimore accent to crack up Tim Kirkjan on his radio show and it was almost exactly like a Yinzer.
  18. He's from Baltimore, we gave the world Corey Graves and Elias.
  19. Coach has been awful in every way imaginable since coming back. He was never anything great to begin with, but yeah. Makes me miss King Bookah at the booth something fierce. Safe to say Coach is stealing money at this point. With Booker I at least believed he gave a shit about what was going on, Coach not so much.
  20. All that is true but WWE is run by a guy who has hang-ups on age and feels people stop being marketable at a preset point.
  21. They might be at that point now, but to suggest Roman was never supposed to be the Guy is revisionist history.
  22. Well it seems clear that Roman was set to win, Vince changed plans in the last week, and the only person outside of the two of them who knew was Roman (and the ref, during the match). From there it's hazy. Everyone agrees there was a spat between Vince and Brock, but no one's sure if that was a work or not. Shane acting like he was going to step to Brock makes it seem like it was a work. They did get a boatload of money from the Saudis for their show, everyone who's part of the Vision 2030 plan the Prince is doing is getting piles of cash as PR to rehab the image of SA. Did they ask Vince to push the title change to their show? Did Vince just volunteer to do it because of the money he got? Like the number of licks to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know. What we do know is that Roman got made to look like a chump in front of 70k people, and that's going to be hard to overcome.
  23. Yeah there's been zero evidence he's ever refused to job to someone, he just makes them look like shit if he doesn't think they're at his level.
  24. The only plus side is if Shane ever decides to defend his dad's honor to Brock, he might finally learn how to throw a punch.
  25. The only thing that makes sense is if Brock did have a deal in place to leave for UFC, but Vince changed his mind about pulling the trigger at WM again meaning Brock had to stay longer. Why else would he have a fit backstage that was said to involve him throwing the belt at Vince? *edited for clarity* What I mean by that is it seems Brock had a plan to fleece UFC for another fat deal and Vince kind of fucked it up by being Vince.
