  1. I would be shocked if this doesn't get mentioned in Roman's next promo on Brock.
  2. 80s TV is why we'd lose our shit as kids when Saturday Night's Main Event would come on. Matches between stars! Hulk Hogan wrestling on TV! That was mind blowing stuff at the time.
  3. He may or may not have, but WWE tells the people they offer deals to deny it until the company announces it. The real tell is if there's a sudden drop in bookings like what is happening with Keith Lee. I would probably think Walter would stay where he is even if he did get an offer, since he's in an unusual position of being an in-demand indy guy and having an employee postion in WXW. He doesn't strike me as a guy who could be wooed with the promise of WWE fame to take a developmental paycut.
  4. WWWF All Star drop looks like it will be 92 episodes It's only one 1975 epsisode up to September of 1980. This one might be hit a little harder by the "technical difficulties from the original source" hammer as some are going to be less than 30 minutes. Still, looks to be a pretty fun drop and it's the earliest TV they've put up so far.
  5. What I don't get is when it happened, reports from the tapings were something like the bat bounced off the chair and hit him, but it looks like he hit him right in the face. How does that even happen when you're supposed to be aiming at a chair placed on his chest? Either Sami is like Stan Hansen levels of poor eyesight or has zero depth perception.
  6. Right, and some of their interational deals are paying them for three hours and dont expire at the same time as the NBCU deal. Right, and none of them are going to be paying anything near what Fox would be. Easier to tell a few international partners than they are going to get a little less content than pissing off the local affiliates of your largest revenue source.
  7. It's been stated that moving to Fox would mean two hours, local affiliates are not going to stand for having their local news (that they get the money for) get pre empted for rasslin'.
  8. If Vince made a decision that resulted in WWE losing $100 million in revenue, the stock would tank and the shareholders would revolt. Don't forget they are the most important customers.
  9. I would think WWE is going to end up staying with USA/NBC Universal unless someone like Fox makes a stupidly large money offer. That only happens if they lose UFC, and I don't know if there's anyone really lining up to steal them away. As fans though we should be hoping and praying that happens since WWE on Fox stations would mean the end of 3 hour death slog Raws.
  10. That's the one I was referring to, I never got motion sickness from TV before that.
  11. WWE ZoomCam doesn't normally bother me as much as it seems to bother most people, but holy shit the zooming on that show ending beatdown of John Cena on Smackdown had my stomach lurching.
  12. Look like its going to be 76-79
  13. Looks like there were Fox Sports execs at Smackdown along with Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd, which is funny since he would make fun of wrestling fans on his show and call them booger eaters.
  14. Seems like Taker's still going to be his opponent, since he called him out but said the match was impossible. In wrestling logic that means it's pretty much a lock. Plus the reaction to it from the crowd was pretty much the biggest pop of the night, so I don't see it not happening unless Taker decides at the last minute he can't go.
  15. No one has ever had more people want them to fail than Rousey. Even after she drew TV numbers for Strikeforce and PPV numbers for UFC, people were always trying to "yeah, but" her. Part of it for sure is how she seems to rub everyone the wrong way, but it's still something to see. Having her come in and state from the start she's a fan and she's always wanted to do this was smart, it dulls the potential fan backlash of her being another Brock coming in to do the rasslin for money. Her being moved to tears at the PPV may have been the first time she's ever allowed herself to display any emotion other than "kill, destroy", and wrestling fans always latch on to what is real (or at least believeable).
  16. In the course of one promo she went from marking out fangirl, to "wait, what?" when Kurt started stooging, to full MURDERDEATHKILL mode when Steph slapped her. For someone doing their first promo in front of a crowd it went as well as can be expected. The best part that hasn't been given enough love is after the slap and the crowd chanting "YOU FUCKED UP" was the look on Steph's face when she realized that she in fact has indeed fucked up. I'm sure it will be reconned in WWE history that it was the plan all along, but Steph getting her ass beat after all the years of her emasculating the talent will blow the roof off the Superdome.
  17. Tonight's card: Seems like a show that should have good matches but fairly predictable outcomes. The Road to Romanmania seems to be on a clear path (unless that guy in jail comes up with proof he sold stuff to him), and I suppose the only real suspense would be "they aren't stupid enough to have Nia end Asuka's streak, right?"
  18. Watching night one of Honor Rising and the Golden Lovers storyline is the best thing in wrestling by a large margin. To be fair, Cody's a big part of that being the shit stirrer of the Bullet Club and basically the cataylist for everything that happened, but everyone's been great in their roles. Even the Haku kids are great as the side not wanting to get involved in all this mess.
  19. I truly believe Dave doesn't understand the difference between "it is not technically illegal or wrong to do this" and "this is a dick thing to do if I do this". It's not the first time he's defended something by saying it wasn't wrong of him to do in a legal sense but wasn't cool in a decency sense.
  20. I know that was a typo but now I want to see Amber Rose in WWE teaming with Goldust.
  21. Austin coming out to help Mankind beat Rock for the WWF title on Raw in January 1999 was one of the largest single pops I've ever seen.
  22. I mean, it is pretty much the same as the Rock n Roll HOF when you think about it. You can be inducted multiple times as either solo or a group, and it's pretty much up to the person running it who gets in.
  23. I'll never understand why anyone would get upset over anyone being in/out of the WWE HOF. It was brought back to sell DVDs and now it exists for them to have another event on Mania weekend to sell tickets to.
  24. The meat of it was 2011-2015, I remember Jeff showing up on TNA tv with the AAA title but they had to cover it up because AAA has weird US TV rights.
  25. Well that's refreshing. He's still pretty outspoken politically, which is fine, but it's the exact thing WWE has been making a pointed effort to avoid.
