He has final say of course, but clearly other people make suggestions. We wouldn't have had Savage, Warrior, and Bruno in if it was only Vince's suggestions.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
sek69 replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
I hope and pray that he writes it, solely so we can see Meltzer's angry Observer feature correcting all the mistakes. Which would lead to people @'ing him on Twitter saying he's wrong because it's different from what SK's book says. -
After the Goldust Wig Incident I'm sure he would want veto power on any angles he's put in.

This week's NXT was pretty good. Nice to see they are starting to give the new crop of girls some kind of discernible personality, and the Samoa Joe Death Tour marches on. Also great that they finally pulled the trigger on the Almas turn. Hope this opens the door for him to show off his Ingobernales chops.

I loved the match and agree Charlotte is amazing, but that corkscrew moonsault was ridiculous to attempt and Sasha should get a bonus for racing to catch her before she spiked herself on the floor.

I've been watching these off and on while at work, and Dennis Condrey: Charisma Machine is boggling my mind something fierce.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

Considering AJ Styles is the WWE champ and Samoa Joe is due to be called up any day now, it's actually a smart deal. Plus they wouldn't have to pretend Sting was frozen in carbonite all those years. -

Dixie is doing the whole passive-aggressive "the big announcement is that there's no announcement" gimmick all over social media. So either it's a false rumor, the deal fell through, or she's about to cement her legacy as the biggest idiot ever to run a wrestling company. -
Because it's so different from WWE TV of the last few years it's kind of amazing Vince hasn't vetoed most of their ideas. Bonus of Vince not paying attention to Smackdown I suppose.

WWE just tweeted congratulations to Bryan and Brie on the announcement of their first child due in Spring 2017.

I don't get the "why would anyone want to see this" mentality. It may not be your cup of tea but two guys pushed as unstoppable monsters colliding (and not in front of a crowd shitting on the match because word got out both are leaving) might appeal to someone. Yeah, Goldberg's old now but I'd sure as hell take him over grandpa Shane cosplaying as wrestler again.

I know Dave insists that Vince in charge of both shows, but Raw and SD have been so night and day different in terms of quality (last night's Raw being good nonwithstanding) it's hard to believe the same person does both shows.

The interplay between Owens and Jericho has been fantastic. I love how they come off as kids bickering but still get along (for now).
-
I'm sure it's intentional, the plan from day one seems to have been to have them feud before Jericho goes off to play IRL Guitar Hero again.

There's a lot of things that worked 20+ years ago that wouldn't (nor shouldn't) fly today.

It's really telling that this is the guy they want to be the #1 babyface and his segment consisted of bullying a woman,

For the folks who were upset about it, the Daniel Bryan collection is back up and watchable. It and the Shane collection disappeared and both are back now.

Well the obvious ones would be guys in real combat sports drawing heavily from pro wrestling to draw interest/heat/money. Mohammed Ali patterned a lot of his shtick from Gorgeous George and Fred Blassie and Connor is basically 80s Ric Flair with f-bombs. I still remember the Olympics in 1988 doing video packages with the theme of USA vs USSR that might as well have been cribbed from Bill Watts' notebook.

It's not so much that he's bad, it's just that he gets fixated on things that sometimes get annoying. There was a time where his Miz hate was defensible, but his run with Maryse has been so great that continuing to dislike the guy just comes off as contrarian. Also there was a great bit of underrated Dave comedy where they joke about God working for ROH (referring to Silas Young's promo at the PPV) and he just deadpans "well if God worked for them they'd probably have a better TV deal".

Dixie found someone else to fund the PPV and (maybe?) the next tapings. If and when TNA finally goes under someone should take a final tally of all the times TNA could have been sold to someone who would have kept it alive had she not messed it up. -
I'd think it's possible that Miz was probably buried to Dave by his sources at the time he debuted since everyone seemed to hate him for being a reality TV star. When your first impression to something is negative (fair or not) it's sometimes hard to overcome it.

Dave mentioned he repeatedly told people in the company that turning Austin heel (especially in Texas) would be a bad idea for weeks leading up to it. You can make the argument that he was getting stale, and *maybe* a turn was needed, but no one thought siding him with Vince after years of being the biggest blood feud in history was the right play. -

The most amazing part of this sales story is how Dixie is still messing things ups to the very end. -

Ask Jeff Jarret how easy it is to just slide in to a TV deal. -
Maybe he can come back as the Z-Man, and when Miz tries to unmask him it's Tom Zenk instead.
