I know at one point it was due to Vince not wanting anyone to get popular enough to leave WWE for greener pastures. Kind of makes it funny to see Triple H constantly pimping Big Dave on Twitter for his movie success, it almost comes off as him being passive aggressive.

I've noticed Ambrose seems to have a nervous tic where he seems to be always scratching, it's like he's doing a tribute to Flock era Kidman.

Getting up off the mat to face HBK when you hear him stomping on the mat in the corner. In a tag match, the outside man entering the ring to argue with the ref while the opponents pummel his partner. When a manager/valet/second grabs someone's foot, the aggrieved party standing with his back to the action doing the "What's up with that?" pose.

Apparently he's in the Brock category of "we can't mess this up because he's making lots of money", but man is it not promising that the guy who became a national hero for slapping a racist gets paired up with the anti immigration character upon his return. Not to mention the first two cities he's appearing in being LA and San Diego makes this seem even more WCW-ish.

Last time someone bladed in WWE (Batista I think?) they got heavily fined. Should be interesting to see what happens when it's Mr. No-Fucks-Given Lesnar and the Locker Room Jesus who do it.

i know it's a wacky concept, but maybe some people like WWE? i mean, yeah Raw is way too long at 3 hours and because of that there's going to be some filler and/or awful shit, but that's why god made DVRs. NXT is usually a solid show, the Takeover specials are usually great. Smackdown is an easy to watch show even if it doesn't really have a lot of importance to the main angles. Hell even WWE PPVs are usually pretty decent. It seems like people who don't like WWE (and it's fine if you don't) see someone who likes it as either trolling or somehow lying to themselves to justify supporting the evil McMahon empire. I get someone like Johnny where it's his deal to be Mr. Positive (and let's face it, he probably has a lot of chemical assistance with that), but if anyone doesn't agree that WWE is the shittiest shit that ever shat some people start dog piling and it's a little ridiculous.

By the way, speaking of watching older wrestling, I was watching 1998 Raws on the Network and it was jarring to hear them refer to the new member of Vince's Corporation as "Corporate Kane". 17 years later, we still have HHH and Undertaker in top positions while masked Kane runs in to chokeslam people.

It must be stated that while yes, there's more historical footage available than ever, not everyone's going to spend time tracking down old Mid South on YouTube on a Monday night.

Is it really a strange concept that diehard wrestling fans would watch the TV programming of the biggest wrestling company in the world? It's like there's some weird cred people are seeking by announcing how much they don't watch WWE sometimes.

I thought it was interesting he pretty much did his whole TNA character down to the "sorry about your damn luck" line, I guess either he owned it or they give zero shits about TNA at this point.
-
Yeah I hope they do something with him since I really like his work, but as mentioned they dropped him in an angle torpedoed by Vince already in a Miz TV segment on a show being ignored by the company until January.

Isn't Lita an agent...err "producer" for the main roster women's matches now?
-
So Tyler Breeze made his main roster debut on the Smackdown tapings as Summer Rae's new man on a Miz TV segment. So it's entirely possible the "they have something in mind for him" Dave mentioned a couple days ago is just Vince making a "Summer Breeze" joke.
-
Lita was just so 90s it was the perfect character for the time. Like grunge and Zima, it's hard to see what the appeal was now, you kind of had to be there.

Funny how one of the big criticisms I'm seeing on other forums is how that Brock/Taker will be lame because you can't promise blood in HIAC anymore. Well considering there's been blood in pretty much every Brock match since he's been back, I don't see how this would be any different. Sure, you can't blade anymore, but Brock is a human version of a giant puppy that doesn't know his own strength and he doesn't seem to mind people getting stiff in return.

Wasn't there a thing that came out that Vince and Dunn (or maybe it was just Dunn) don't like accents? That's probably a factor too why Vince doesn't like his promos.

So....Mistico I/Sin Cara/Mysteziz just returned to CMLL
sek69 replied to sek69's topic in Pro Wrestling
So to recap here, he's the guy who while one of the biggest draws in the world told CMLL he was going on vacation for a few days and signed with WWE. Then acts like a primadonna in WWE and is generally an embarrassment to the second in command of the company who signed him as a pet project. Finally he ends up in AAA when they are the top company in Mexico and proceeds to fuck *that* up by pissing off Alberto to the point there was legit concern Alberto might kill the guy. I get wanting to go to WWE to strike while the iron was hot and try to get paid, but has there been a guy who's blown that many top level chances as him? -

sek69 replied to sek69's topic in Pro Wrestling
So there was a press conference deal to announce his new name (apparently WWE is fighting him on the Sin Cara name, imagine that) and his new CMLL name is..... Mistic 2.0. I guess that tells us two things: 1. Mistico II is probably boned. 2. We should all apologize to AAA for saying the name they came up with was the dumbest one you could think of. -
Observer HOF prediction/ballot question thread

Could that be a sign the logjam finally broke for the Mexican candidates? -
So I got one of those "We want your opinion" emails from WWE Network, and they were asking if I've heard of Connor's Cure. Then they proceed to ask if I donated and if not why. The capper was if I felt Stephanie and Triple H made good spokesmen for the charity, and at that point this was me walking away from my computer:

The 2016 Rumble is in Orlando, I can't imagine the reaction to a Roman win in the heart of NXT Country.

I hope you're right, but remember it's impossible to underestimate how petty this company can be.

I wonder if Lana being positioned as the next Sunny/Sable "#1 Hot Chick" then suddenly not when Vince quote-unquote lost interest in her. I don't want to be all conspiracy theory here but it wouldn't shock me if there was some sort of proposition made that when turned down led to Lana in 80s music video denim outfits and punishments when they had the nerve to get engaged despite the "break up in kayfabe, break up for real" unofficial rule in wrestling.
-
He got practically zero offense in losing to Ryback, then Summer verbally berated him after the match and slapped his face while he just stood there like a bump on a log. If they weren't punishing the guy, they certainly seemed to go out of their way to make it appear they were.

On the plus side, once again the New Day was the best thing on the show. Big E doing his best Tommy Lee impression air drumming to Seth's theme was great.
