  1. Someone should make a missing person poster for Miro at this point. Put him on some milk cartons.
  2. Iron Sheik about to break backs & make people humble again for the old country!
  3. I think the NBA enforced their dress code in 2005ish, so I wonder if WWE did it because the NBA did it? I've never thought about it. I do remember a lot of shit coming out about people thinking the NBA dress code was racist because they were trying to get people like Allen Iverson to not be themselves, with a lot of coded language on TV about "thugs."
  4. At this point, most ideas I hear sound better than bringing in The Rock to face Roman or doing another Brock/Roman or Drew/Roman or Lashley/Roman or Goldberg/Roman. WWE needs some new talent at the top for sure.
  5. He looks more like Kerry facially too I feel. Like outside of the massive weight he's put on, looking like WWF era Texas Tornado.
  6. I don't know what he even has left in the tank at this point, but Nakamura going back to Japan full-time would probably be what I desire the most as a fan. Dude has been invisible since coming to WWE outside of his NXT debut & the one promo where he said he doesn't speak English after cheating. And we know Muta has nothing left. He's been washed for at least a decade. He's got less knees than poor ol' Terry Funk.

    AEW TV 10/26-10/28

In this day & age, it's entirely possible that even if MJF himself & AEW/Khan wanted Maxwell to remain a heel, the crowd might just ignore that & babyface him anyway. Would make for some awkward TV when MJF is cutting a promo shitting on a wrestler or town & the crowd is losing their minds cheering & chanting his name while he does it. Like when Toronto absolutely refused to let Hulk Hogan be a bad guy against The Rock.
  8. I was really impressed by Willow when she got up for Jade's finish because that was all Willow.
  9. I'm not as pessimistic as this as I feel they've been successful thus far, certainly. My biggest complaint is that they still just feel like an Indie. Like the show comes off as bush league on TV. The gimmick commentator, the picture-in-picture, the old WCW Saturday Night style entrance... It doesn't feel big enough. Even with the good crowds & big PPV numbers, it feels amateur. That's not even getting into the majority of the roster, which I feel isn't ready for weekly TV. Tony Khan is a money mark. Or, a money Smart Mark as it were. And although he does have a lot more money than most, he's still just a wrestling fan blowing through money to fantasy book. He doesn't know anything about episodic TV & it shows. The new car smell is gone & with it, a lot of the hype & expectations of the company. I think everyone had their own vision of what AEW would turn into but it didn't really turn into anything. It stayed what it was, which is a super Indy, only it added a bunch of bloated ex-WWE people to the roster & started fading out their homegrown originals.
  10. I just watched it last night... yeah. Glad I didn't go to the theater for that bullshit.
  11. I don't think it really helps Corbin if they're planning on pushing him to go 50/50 with Ziggler in a match that goes through a commercial break & is that long. You wanna put him over, have him squash someone or have him cheat his ass off.
  12. They're giving this match way too much time, admittedly.
  13. I don't hate Baron Corbin but that outfit is doing him zero favors.
  14. LMFAO JBL is a goddamn legend. He got me. loool
  15. That's really mean teasing me with JBL returning & then making me sit through this long ass women's match.
  16. oh... oh myyyyyyyyyyy THE WRESTLING GAWD!
  17. Mustafa Ali I have no problem with but he just came out to complete silence too. Where are they at tonight?
  18. They're just as boring as ever. It's one of the more perplexing rehires I can remember. It's like if WWE were to rehire Ahmed Johnson, it just doesn't make any damn sense whatsoever. At least Ahmed was over...
  19. ...and they fucking follow it up with Gallows & Anderson. Fucking Christ.
  20. OK, that open was great. Kicking things off hot with the quick start, too. Big stars doing big things. Let's fucking go!
  21. I signed up for Peacock Premium Plus solely so I could watch old WCW Monday Nitro episodes commercial free. Halloween Ends being on there is a cool bonus, but I haven't had WWE Network since they switched to Peacock. So it'll be cool to re-watch old stuff again.
  22. I have no idea how WWE feel comfortable putting Top Dolla on TV. My goodness he is awful. How did he even play football? Did he get injured or something? He's the most unathletic wrestlers I've seen try to work in a long, long time. Total bucket of slop.
  23. Karrion Kross, much like Luke Gallows, is a guy where everyone always talks about how much charisma & personality he has... but it never shows on TV. Like his Jesse Ventura impression in the weight room is literally better than anything he's ever done on TV in any company. Even Scarlett doesn't make him interesting. I don't think his hair being back hinders him any - although I do think Scarlett brought more to the table as a redhead than just another blonde. I just don't know what Kross is missing. You can't take him seriously. It's too over-the-top, gimmicky & cartoony. I don't think him being a dark arts gimmick works. He's very miscast, like when Christopher Daniels was trying to be "The Fallen Angel" in Ring of Honor. Shit is just cringe. I think he's fine, work wise. I think he's fine, look wise. I think the leather jacket even fits him well. I have no issue with his pairing with Scarlett. But the entrance & shit, it doesn't work. He'd be better off trying to be The Berserker instead of The Undertaker.
  24. The first that comes to mind are all the wrestling characters - like Demolition & Lord Humongous - based off of the bad guy from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
  25. We've always heard the talk of wrestling being cyclical. What if it's not in regards to popularity but cyclical in other ways? In the 80's there were a lot of great workers but they didn't have to work like they work today. "Less is more" so they say. Hulk Hogan was on top & frequently got a ton of mileage out of a bearhug spot, or the knuckle lock, and always finished with a normal body slam & a leg drop. Sure on the same shows you had guys like Savage doing top rope elbows & what not but the shows were filled with guys like Greg Valentine or Warlord or Akeem not doing much in-ring. In the 90's, especially during crash TV, there was a lot of in-ring drek. There were still plenty of talented guys, like Bret Hart or Chris Benoit or Eddy Guerrero doing crazy things in-ring & I think wrestlers like them - and later guys like Kurt Angle - really made a lot of fans start to care more about in-ring style. Not just the puro tape traders. You still had some crazy, different things with like ECW too. In the early 2000s, even guys like The Undertaker were starting to try to have in-ring bangers. Ring of Honor pretty much replaced ECW but their product was almost 100% about just the in-ring. Everyone every night everywhere on the card was trying to win the Match of the Year award or whatever. Now with AEW, you even have people on the active roster, like Brit Baker after her hardcore match, saying things like "I hope Meltzer gives that five stars!" Maybe it's just come full circle & people want less is more again. Not more 450 Spike Tombstones or top rope dragon suplexes. Maybe just more spooky, goofy shit, like Bray Wyatt cosplaying as fat Rob Zombie. Wrestling has never been about just the in-ring. Wrestling will never be about just the in-ring. And you can certainly thrive even if you're the drizzling shits in-ring. Danhausen is over and doesn't even have to wrestle. Pro-wrestling is still just a show. It's just storytelling.
