  1. You should definitely check out his match with Cesaro. Not because it's good but just because of the spectacle of Cesaro getting that big sumbitch in the giant swing!
  2. And Mauro yells "Mama Mia!", the crowd chants "This is awesome!" or "Holy shit!" over & over... and outside of being used in future video packages, it's completely ignored & forgotten within a week.
  3. I thought that was the entire point of the attire change? Like in the match on AEW Dark with Sonny Kiss & Dustin Rhodes, the camera man even made it a point to get those shots, like it was old ECW or The Beautiful People in Impact/TNA. I thought it was on purpose. I think the idea is going to be that she's the librarian that goes wild or something to get away from the stricter Avalon. Like Miss Hancock in WCW or something. Also, I know the social climate has changed a lot in more recent years but sex appeal still matters in a body business like wrestling. It always will. I think we can talk about it. It still works for Scarlett Bordeaux. You can still draw money with sex appeal.
  4. I also really enjoyed this weeks episode. My biggest complaint is that I want the show to be an hour long. I dislike when it's over after forty minutes. That's at least two different weeks where I felt like it ended prematurely. Here's my scattered, rambling thoughts: Firstly, since I'll be more positive than negative as it pertains to NWA, let me get this out of the way. The roster is very small. The whole thing fits into one picture & that picture included the commentators, announcers & Billy Corgan. There's like twenty people. If you're a fan of them all, that's great. But when the roster is that small, a guy like Ken Anderson being around, whom I think brings nothing to the table, starts to stand out a lot more. Not in a good way. I generally feel the same way about Colt Cabana but honestly, thus far, he's not been too bad. Maybe a bit irksome but not the overbearing annoyance that he usually is for me. The women are not good. Thunder Rosa so far is at least intriguing & feels like a star. But she's going to have to start wrestling more & from what I seen of her in Lucha Underground, unless a lot has changed in a small time, she's not sure good. Allysin Kay is also not great & she's the champion. Marti Belle is downright bad. So they definitely need help with the women. I feel like, and I think I've said this before, but this is another example of companies feeling like they have to do a women's division now because WWE has put women on a bigger platform. The thing is though, WWE have the talent to do it. NWA does not. I still think AEW is a bit away as well & they're definitely higher up than NWA. But again, I think this is also an issue that stems from having a smaller roster. I like David Marquez a lot as an interviewer. He has a very authentic feel about him. I think that the commentary so far has been mostly fine too although Cornette maybe hamming it up a bit too much trying to get his "witty" one-liners in there. Reminds me more of like heel Jerry Lawler trying to tell jokes to an uninterested Jim Ross during Monday Night RAW in the 90's to me than anything, which is not a compliment. I'm a fan of Nick Aldis. I think he's a fine champion. I do think he's starting to get outshined by Kamille. She's just incredible looking - genuinely looks different & feels like a star. She carries herself really well. I'm a big fan of Tim Storm. When he talks you want to listen. As has been mentioned before - and it feels like this was very much on purpose - the promos of the talent is the strong suit of NWA so far. So it's interesting that Kamille has gotten over without having to say a single word so far. You have guys like Eddie Kingston cutting blistering promos & guys like Tim Storm cutting quiet, everyday man promos & Kamille just nods to get a reaction. That's pretty cool. I still think James Storm has a good look but I do think his character not talking about drinking beer hurts his gimmick some. Shout out to Trevor Murdoch's Bulldog finish in his short match. That looked great! I'm not sold on Eli Drake. But Ricky Starks has been eye opening. Homicide doesn't act like he even wants to be there. Aron Stevens seems to be having fun & getting some nice reactions but I don't know if you want to be playing for reactions like that, with crowd participation, in a 200 person studio. That can backfire quickly as just one loud fan can ruin an entire segment. The Question Mark I'm just going to try to have fun with. It's very corny & ridiculous but I was cracking myself up on Twitter talking about how the NWA athletic commission needs to step in & make sure that his ancient, secret martial arts strikes are regulatory before someone gets hurt. I know that Billy is talking about a big, bright future but honestly, I don't think this incarnation of NWA works as anything more than a weekly one hour YouTube show. Like this doesn't work on TV. It doesn't work on a bigger scale because it's too thin. I think getting people to pay for a PPV is a pretty big leap, to be honest. I enjoy it for what it is & it entertains me. It's fun, an easy watch & they have talent for sure but what are they going to try to build to? They have a women's title, tag titles, midcard title & world title with a roster of twenty people. And in the current landscape of professional wrestling with WWE (soaking up everyone for NXT & NXT UK) along with Impact, ROH, AEW & even MLW, it's not like there's a ton of free agents running around out there to liven things up. So I'm a bit concerned. Like how different is NWA if WWE just sign Kamille? I feel like they might be building to Eli Drake feuding with Nick Aldis for the NWA Title with Kamille turning on Aldis. But that doesn't explain what Tim Storm will be doing with it all. And now that they're starting to tease the inclusion of other people like Ken Anderson as well, I have no idea. Maybe Aldis is planning on starting a stable? Anderson, after he turns on Colt to win the midcard title. Kamille still with him. Eli Drake after beating down Tim Storm. So then it'd be Drake, Aldis, Anderson with Kamille against Storm, Cabana & who? And would there be another woman, like Allysin, to thwart Kamille on the outside?
  5. This was actually my favorite part of the show. They took a bunch of people & acts that I don't care about, like Marko Stunt & Shawn Spears, and used them in a way that made sense & served a purpose. So even the segments that I wasn't looking forward to turned out to be beneficial to the show. Nakazawa? Showed him backstage with Kenny while it showed Kenny not being cleared. Talked about him being friends with Kenny, briefly. That made him being Moxley's opponent make sense. Then Mox squashed him, so we didn't have to see a bunch of Nakazawa. Nak also threw down the oil, to show that he was serious for the bout because of what happened to Kenny. That's all good. Marko Stunt? He got his ass whipped. Took the Dark Order finish - which is the best thing about them. They did the post match stuff trying to recruit him as a hooded jobber. Sets up the return of Luchasaurus. He cleans house of all the geeks & looks like the real star. The whole thing, which used Marko Stunt & the Dark Order was a vessel to get over Luchasaurus, the real star. That's all good. The three way with Darby Allin, Shawn Spears & The Librarian. The only thing that we didn't get was Leva Bates ass shots. Shawn Spears got taken out early by Janella to set up them feuding. Leaving Darby to basically squash Avalon & show off his Coffin Drop finish again. And he got to accept Moxley's open challenge, making him look bad ass. That's all good. Dani Jordan, whom I had to Google to make sure it was who I thought it was, was inoffensive as she was just jobber fodder to get over Nyla's dominance. Gotta build her back up after losing the title match to Riho. This admittedly wasn't great but it had a clear purpose. And I do think Nyla is improving. If AEW can consistently have that "anything can happen" feel where even the segments you think you won't care about turn into something more? Then I'm definitely on board. That's how the show felt to me last night.
  6. He's been on AEW Dark & PPV.
  7. Add SCU to the group of Marko, Librarian, Dark Order, Sonny Kiss & Spears as acts I would be happy to never see again.
  8. Well I def liked that one more than their other encounters. Hard hitting and shorter.
  9. This is great tv
  10. Um, Mox vs Darby? Yes, please!
  11. Hope this goes less than five minutes and Darby wins clean in the middle with the coffin drop
  12. Here’s to hoping... because they’re following it up with Marko Stunt & Dark Order...
  13. The Superstar Billy Graham statements are even worse when you look at the shape he's currently in & realize he's only alive because a girl died in a car wreck & was a donor for him to get a new liver. He also didn't bump like the guys of today. You can't just talk for two minutes & flex a few times with your shirt off anymore. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see wrestlers get bigger but I don't think steroids in 2019-2020 & beyond is the answer. Even if I was a fan of Jinder. I also wish WWE would bring back the fat monsters. When I was growing up, you had Kamala, Earthquake, Tugboat, Yokozuna, Big Boss Man, One Man Gang, King Kong Bundy and the ultimate hoss in André the Giant. All of them were larger than life. Some, like Boss Man, deceptively quick. All were also quite tall. Who are the hosses nowadays? Freakin' Ivar & Otis? That's part of the reason I want Braun Strowman to succeed. I just want guys that look different. Gimme an AOP push. Make WALTER a main roster top guy. We need more variety. Which, I mean, that would also work with having a small guy too. But when the whole roster is those small flippy guys, like in AEW... man.
  14. Did someone mention John "Bradshaw" Cena?
  15. I'm going to stay in my fantasy world that someone from NWA is reading PWO. I'm going to get on that intro one day, goddamnit!
  16. "Nobody cosplaying wrestling in this here match." - Jim Cornette That just happened. Just now.
  17. The finish surprised me. I thought they were just getting ready to hit the next stage of the match & it just ended so abruptly. Low Ki didn't even get in a lot of his normal spots, which feels really reigned in for a Low Ki match. I'm shocked he didn't "get all of his shit in" so to speak. He doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that is OK with being underneath for that much & it was part of the appeal for me of that match. I really like Timothy Thatcher. He stands out nowadays because he feels so old school & mat based in a sea of high flyers & big spots.
  18. I can't wait for the modern era version of Seth Rollins on the bearskin rug rumors to start!
  19. I'm about to watch the MLW Fusion episode right now that just premiered five hours ago. The PPV got me hype on the promotion again, so I figured I should return to checking it out. Since I've pretty much abandoned RAW & only watch an hour of NWA Power on Tuesday, my wrestling time is open on non-PPV weeks outside of Wednesday night. So adding in an hour of MLW again won't be too difficult. I'm a big fan of a lot of their roster. More promotions could use an LA Park style wrestler. AEW, in example, would kill for a stout motherfucker that'll just punch a dude in the mouth. They should probably be using Dustin Rhodes more while they still can.

I wouldn't be surprised if, despite the Sinclair backings, ROH is dead in two years.
  21. What's going on with Charles? He's not been around much lately. Hope everything is alright. Never see that dude anymore. Not even on Twitter.

I feel like we're going to be having this discussion all over again when Marty Scurll leaves ROH for AEW as well.

I actually think giving PAC a valet would help him a lot. Because then he could play off of her as being super paranoid & jealous & raging out at others because of her like Randy Savage did in his early heel WWF days. It would at least give his character some motivation & potentially give another woman on the roster something to do.
