My kayfabe mind immediately shot to Kane Vs. The Undertaker & I started laughing. "THAT'S... THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE!"
-
I'm actually off & get to watch the Forbidden Door PPV. My expectations aren't super high, so I'm just hoping for a fun show.

Taya was laying some shit in tonight!
-
That's good news! Happy for y'all.

"One Bill Phil. That's because I am the one true, genuine article in a business full of counterfeit bucks." Man, that line went hard as fuck.

Can y'all just watch streams? I know for awhile, I was just using the Wreddit Streams to watch shows I didn't get. It's interesting because when I used to live in Indiana, when Smackdown was on UPN, they had two touring brands in WWF: RAW & Smackdown. In Terre Haute, where UPN wasn't carried, they brought the Smackdown crew for house shows. To a city that didn't carry their show. Just seems like that should have been the job of someone to make sure that the market they were going to had the show that was coming, you know? So that shit has been around for awhile.

I'm biased in the other way: I think MJF & Cole are both actively overrated, and that segment almost got me to turn the show off because of the content of the promos. Which is saying something, as the six-man tag pretty much featured four jobbers wasting time with Moxley & Claudio. Moxley whom has really allowed himself to look like shit now too, presentation wise. MJF Vs. Adam Cole is also not a match that I'm interested in seeing at all, let alone as a main event or title match. I think the biggest disconnect with AEW to me, and it's really been this way since the beginning, is it's hard to take anything seriously because half the roster doesn't take themselves or the show seriously. So like the House of Black, in example, come out & want to be like dark witchy killers but then you have Orange Cassidy doing his stuff on the same show so the HOB just come off as goofy too. The whole company is like one big insider joke with everyone constantly winking at the cameras, including the commentators. So when MJF is doing his serious promo, it's always just full of a bunch of shooty shit & behind-the-scenes one-liners to pop smart marks. I think with Cody leaving & now Kazarian's comments about leaving AEW, we're kind of seeing the divide in how people perceive AEW, or perhaps how they initially misjudged it for something that it was never intended to be. As a fan, I want a compelling show that I can suspend my disbelief & get drawn into the stories/matches & instead it feels like they're just constantly pulling back the curtain on The Wizard of Oz. Instead of feeling like I'm a part of the show & in on the joke, I just kind of feel alienated instead by a bunch of "this isn't for you" jokes & whatnot. C.M. Punk is certainly guilty of the shoot shit himself, but I like his idea of what professional wrestling seems to be more which is why his return has me excited. I feel like there's two groups of fans & if the company were drawn down the middle, you would have Omega & The Bucks on one side & Punk & FTR on the other. If I'm choosing a side, despite the Elite being there since day one, I'm choosing that Punk side. So maybe the new show will be more what I'm looking for.

I'm genuinely surprised there wasn't another big post-WrestleMania talent lay off this year.
-
Man, seeing all that money raised & that Tony Khan donated $5k brought a tear to my eye, I won't front. Sometimes the wrestling community is pretty cool. Most of us have been on wrestling forums for over twenty years at this point. We all know Dean, I feel, or at least his writings.

After reading about the Ashley Massaro/Tribute for the Troops shit, nothing about WWE surprises me anymore. That place is an acid pit of filth, ran by people with no morals or apathy, that get away with everything.
-
I don't dislike the House of Black, although it can be a bit corny at times (especially Julia Hart) but I'm ready for a Brody King singles run where he just Gonzo Bombs everyone.
-
"Bro, listen, bro." That could legitimately be used as a torture device. I have not watched NXT basically at all since it became this new incarnation of itself. So I'm just waiting for Bron on the main roster & to see if he catches on. This returning Draft nonsense might be a good way to get him onto one of the shows at least.

Sol Rucca & Nikita Lyons could both be break out stars for WWE in the future, for sure. I could see them main eventing night one of WrestleMania is like five years. As long as they stay healthy & don't get in their own way with social media nonsense (more speaking for Nikita there).

Naw, let's not never mind. Ragemaster's new MAGA gimmick fucking sucks & if he keeps it up, just ban his dumb ass.

This all reminds me of the Tonight Show when Jay Leno was supposed to be replaced by Conan O'Brien & then Leno decided "that doesn't work for me, brother."
-
I’m very much out of touch.
-
Man, what a fucking match. Goddamn. Think they just stole the show.
-
Don’t be happy it happened, just be glad it’s over.
-
This match isn’t good. Why do they keep bringing back Lita & Trish anyway?
-
Logan Paul > Austin Theory
-
Theory is a scrub. That dude ain’t got it. This is like trying to put over Eric Watts.
-
The Willow Powerbomb on Anna Jay was pretty bad too.

Today is my father's birthday. I've never asked him but I feel like growing up he had to have hated that his birthday was on April Fools Day. Nevertheless, I got to call him & talk to him today & wish him a happy birthday. I told him that he shares a birthday this year with WrestleMania & he said "does that still happen?" I got a kick out of that. My wife & I will be watching at least some of the show tonight. Back during the Royal Rumble, my wife went to bed before the main event, so she missed the angle that played out with Sami finally turning against Roman & Jey leaving & all that. So I look forward to her getting to see some of the video packages tonight when they're retelling the story before the match or on the preshow. I did see the set reveal video & out-of-left-field & unnecessary random three skateboarders tie-in excluded, the set looks incredible. I don't actually know what matches I ultimately care too much about, it's more about the spectacle of it all anymore. I assume that both Sami/KO & Cody Rhodes win but I don't know what that means for WWE going forward. I'm sure Randy Orton will be back tonight, so maybe Cody will face Randy next. I look forward to whenever Bron Breaker makes the main roster (and I still hold out hope they change his name to Steiner, although this most recent allegation against Rick Steiner certainly wouldn't help) & I'm ready for the Gunther main event run. Cody Vs. Gunther next instead of Cody Vs. Randy would slap!
