  5. Maybe if the question was, what was the greatest feud in a year's span? It would open up for much more variety. Things like Steamboat/Flair, Hart Foundation vs Austin/USA, Misawa/ kobashi etc.
  6. I just love that Lawler/Dundee feels like a life long battle. Sure they would team up, and be great at it, but they'd also kill each other at the drop of a hat. There was so much familiarity. The angles and moments in between the matches is what sets it apart from something like UWF vs NJPW for me. I've actually been watching the latter feud recently and holy shit Fujiwara and Choshu tear it up
  7. Oh it's totality vs totality. So even the 90s stuff even though it's only a match or two for Flair/Steamboat. Are there other feuds that would hold a candle to Lawler/Dundee? Horsemen vs Dusty and friends?
  8. I see a lot of wrestler vs wrestler comparisons but this will compare two legendary feuds. Flair/Steamboat might have the edge on ring and that's a strong might. I'd definitely give the out of ring to Lawler/Dundee. Both iconic feuds but my choice would be Lawler/Dundee. So many twists and turns and was basically the backbone of a town for decades. The overall synonymous nature the two have with each other is hard to beat for me. Other guys come to mind for Flair but Dundee is always the guy for Lawler. Who ya got?
  9. Volkoff in 95 WWF.
  10. If Kris, or Scott and Justin are running the show then I could care less how long the show is. The more the better when it comes to those guys. Bix and Brian fit that mold as well along with Will and Charles although they don't record as often.
  11. Ok cool, glad it wasn't just me. Excited to hear the tag team show to mix things up a little
  12. Did anyone else have trouble downloading this from itunes?
  13. I consider this project a total victory for the fact the Funk has a solid shot at number one and is at worst number 2 to Flair. Flair will be the guy that people would most likely default to whereas Funk most likely earned his top 10 votes from people. Had I done this list in 06 just off thought alone Flair would've killed Funk. After being on this board for 5 years and being exposed to a lot more wrestling, I have to see them as neck and neck. I rated Funk higher but can see Flair winning
  14. Lawler, Flair, Funk, Bryan, and I believe Misawa and Hansen all made my top 10. If not Misawa then it couldve been Liger. Really happy to see Liger in the top 10, I've been watching more and more of him lately and it never gets old to me
  15. Ahhh I'm just so glad Bret made the top 25. That was good enough for me and any spot higher just makes it sweeter.
  16. Do you mean on YouTube and for free or all together?
  17. I had no clue who Rose was, never knew the greatness of El Dandy, and would've never appreciated guys like Butch Reed if it wasn't for this board. I'm excited to delve into the guys in the top 100 that didn't make my list
  18. I wonder if people in Japan construct lists like this and lose their shit when Flair is gone in the 30s. Damn mainstream puro bias
  19. Listened to part 1 and I have to give huge props to Will. He handles even the outlandish sounding picks so well and even encourages the guys to stand by their picks.
  20. Yea and Parv predicted him to finish 42. That was meant to be the tiebreaker for the top 10 guesses
  21. A couple people including Parv had him at 42.
  22. Choshu is a guy I'm excited about diving into more. Santo and Casas are two others and they'll probably have the highest priority since I'm assuming they'll be the highest rated guys I haven't seen much of.
  23. I honestly didn't even consider that I'd be the high vote for Punk but yea I should've known. So for me it's definitely an attachment and connection thing over a skill and ability thing. I'm originally from Chicago so that was the drawing point although it's not reason for liking him so much. Punk was the guy that got me into indy wrestling and also was the reason I kept watching current wrestling. I got so invested in his character that I see past the mechanical flaws in the ring. He was one of the best heels in America over the last decade and his straight edge persona although real life, made me believe that he thought he was better than the guy he was feuding with. The Raven feud from 03 is so good because he's berating him for being a drug addict and alcoholic and it makes you believe he genuinely hates him for Ravens life choices. His feud with Joe in 04 is a great athletic feud and told a great story from match match, sprinkling in things from each match before to keep them interesting. The first Summer of Punk was such a great troll job in the end and things like signing his WWE contract on the title are little landmark moments that I'll never forget. Hes got the feud with Hero from Iwa midsouth that is a very fun stretch of matches to watch with Punk coming off as the bully to a very likeable Hero. Once Punk came into the WWE I had all but given up hope on not only the product but the fact that they would do anything with him. He was solid at best in ECW and definitely wasn't used to his potential. He could've been the main event heel for that brand and instead was used as a guy with a muay Thai ripoff gimmick. Once he started getting a little more mic time is when I turned the corner on thinking he could make the baby face thing work in wwe. He got massive cheers at Survivor Series over guys like Triple H which I'm sure didn't do him any favors politically but he over came that. He exploded in 2008/09 with three heel turn. His feud with Jeff Hardy was a call back to the Raven feud which let me know Punk was going to be ok. He has the match at Summer slam as well as the loser leaves town cage match that were two of his first standout matches in the wwe. He also has the great run in the Straight Edge Society feuding with Rey and eventually getting his head shaved. Wearing the mask is great old school shtick as he was so embarrassed for getting his comeuppance that he had to cover up his head. He had a pretty stale run as leader of the Nexus but shook up the wrestling world with the pipe bomb promo. One of those moments that you remember where you were and just had you at the edge of your seat. Very hard to accomplish to me in this current scene. The initial match and moment against Cena in Chicago is something that felt like it didn't belong in this era, it felt like a change was coming and the business would be somewhat revolutionized but yea that didn't get the proper follow up which probably started the build of his frustrations. He has one of the best Raw matches of all time against Cena and to add to that I think he was Cenas best opponent of all time and it's a travesty that we didn't get a Mania main event between the two. His feud and match against Lesnar at Summerslam was brutal and one of my favorite matches of the past ten years. Unfortunately, for now at least his career is over and I can only imagine the additions he could've made to it. All and all I respect the hell out of the guy for standing up to the "machine" and following what he believes in. He's a guy that I find very hard to be objective on and could've ranked him higher, I know a lot of people are down on him but the attachment I've grown to have makes it hard for me to be anything but subjective. If he was from Cleveland who knows if I wouldve given two shits so early in his career.
  24. And my boy Angle survives another day.... in other news,Togo was around this spot on my list and I have to seek out that Togo v Hero match. That sounds awesome.
