Maybe, possibly, no need to cancel your Network sub, it was just a red herring

Memories from the video rental store
Ricky Jackson replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in Pro Wrestling
I remember the selection of WCW tapes at the stores I frequented to be mostly abysmal. Capitol Combat, Clash III and V (Really? Only the two lamest shows of the early ones. Who the fuck is the Blackmailer?), etc. On the other hand, I did score a copy of Bash 89 for $5 from a bargain bin one day, so I guess that made up for it in a way -

Ha...yeah, I had a friend in high school who bought the Randy Savage Memphis tape while on a trip to the States. Savage piledriving Morton through a table blew our minds. Probably the first Memphis I ever saw I guess. -
Memories from the video rental store

I can still remember the day I discovered the video store Flicks and its awesome selection of CHV tapes. This was the late 80s and we had just moved to a new neighborhood. The video stores I frequented in my old neighborhood had some CHV's but far from all the tapes. Flicks basically had all of them, including the awesome history of the IC title and history of the WWF title tapes I had not seen before. The store closed around 1997 and had a sale of all their tapes. For some stupid reason I didn't buy the CHV tapes. Regrets... -
Redman's post was fantastic and redeems 7 pages of mostly garbage

The Uncensored 97 clusterfuck was pretty sweet

Has this match been well circulated before? Is it from the garbage tapes? Never knew it was out there until recently. https://youtu.be/gsd3Xml25Qo

Hogan vs Andre from the early 80s also applies, other than the Philly match from March 81 Edit: never mind, that wasn't a great feud

Come on Parv, the cage blow-off at Shea may have been nothing special, but the initial matches between Bruno and Larry at MSG and Philly were pretty good

That's hilarious. I especially love the part where Meltzer responds to Russo comparing himself and Chyna to Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The "I mean"'s and "you know"'s are pure Meltz verbal ticks.

I thought Sid was cool...until I saw him wrestle. Zzzzzzzzzzz Warrior from 88-91 was fun with plenty of memorable matches and angles.

I agree. She's one of the best wrestlers around today
-
Fitting that Joe debuts on a day when people are talking about TNA being in a death spiral
-
Party like it's 2005

Fucking awesome match

Between this and Looney Toons wrestler comparisons you truly have done it all
-
A one off SNME match between the two could've worked

May as well take the impersonation angle to the nth degree and eventually have everyone on the main roster doing an impression of a 1988 WWF wrestler, with no rhyme or reason to who plays who. You know, Reigns as Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Cena as Ted DiBiase, Orton as Andre etc. Probably would be a lot more entertaining than the status quo

Cool. I don't remember the angle but do recall Patera and Billy Jack teaming. We'll have to check that out when we get to 1987 -
