    To say that Baba didn't sell would just be wrong. His bumping was effected by his physical limitations but the guy certainly sold.

    Pillman has been the American wrestler of the year up to this point, yet the booking keeps cutting his balls off. Him losing isn't necessarily bad, but he keeps losing cleanly in very short fashion. No offense to Bobby Eaton, who I love, but he is not meant to be an uppetcard baby face. Pillman should have that role as he is much better suited for it.

    Terry Funk said that he always felt a wrestler needed 3 to 4 years of experience before he could really understand wrestling. Gino was the one guy who made him reconsider that idea, as he was great right away. Hopefully we get even earlier footage of him.

    I've only seen one match. It was against Kawada and he seemed like an incompetent non-wrestler. That was well into his relatively short career. No shot.

    I like Hara and think he made a good team with Tenryu, but from what I remember, Hara was fucking up a lot of basic spots in the there tags against Jumbo and Yatsu. He seemed to mistime a lot of stuff and be out of position constantly. If that's his peak, a period where he seemed lost and somewhat green, then he is a definite no for me, but I want to go back and watch some of it before all of this is over

    Well don't subscribe just to see Funk vs Wahoo because the match is only about 3 minutes long. After the match, Gino Hernandez jumps Wahoo and then those two wrestle a longer match. Very misleading and really disappointing. :-/

    This was garbage. I hate Roddy Piper's 'cute' promos. He makes fun of Bearer and then gets pissed when Bearer makes one comment. Piper's character work in the 90s is the absolute worst.

    This was awesome and the time just flew by. At this point Taue and Kawada are the AJPW wrestlers of the year. For all the talk you hear about Jumbo being the man in 91, I haven't seen it so far. He brought the least to this match and didn't do anything particularly interesting. He was still good in his role though, everyone else was great though. At one point I thought Jumbo was doing the coolest spot I have seen him do, tying Kobashi's legs up in the ropes, but then I realized it was Fuchi. Speaking of Fuchi, I really wish he was this good in singles. That guy just does not how to structure a match but he does such awesome stuff.

    Dustin Rhodes was really good really quickly. He was definitely a natural pro wrestler.

    I'm in complete agreement with garretta. USWA TX is starting to bore me to tears. All of these matches since the first month have seemed really generic and repetitive to me. The only guy I enjoy seeing at this point is Dundee, who ironically kind of seems like he's on autopilot compared to everyone else. What I mean by that is that you can see him calling spots and telling others where to go and smoothly adapting for blown spots, but you can also tell that Dundee could do what he's doing out there in his sleep, he's just that good at going through the motions.

    I disagree with the notion that Nogami brought little to this match. Sure he kept things simple, but it was clear to me that he knew what he was doing, and by keeping things simple he allowed Liger to shine. This match was about Liger's injury and often when Liger is selling without a game opponent that's all you really get; Liger selling while an opponent aimlessly goes through some moves because they don't know what to do. Nogami was able to work through his offense and use holds and high spots to keep the focus on Liger. I actually thought he was better than Liger in some ways, but I'll need to give this a rewatch to see if that's actually true. I didn't really like all the big spots at the beginning and I worried that was all this match was going to be about, but I get why they did them. Once Nogami took out Liger's leg, and his own to some degree, this match became a lot more interesting and was almost reset with Nogami going to the typical opening chain wrestling. Good match.

    This was wild. I'm surprised the wrestlers would go for something like this. I would worry that tempers would flare up with all that shoving around. Especially when Funk was knocking guys around. This match was what it should have been, but I would have liked a few more minutes. Terry's punches looked better than ever. Brower's were great too.

    In 1993 Jannetty was a lot better than Michaels. Mr. Perfect and probably Luger were better that year too. If you take into account the years that both guys were simultaneously active (89-98) and take into account how much experience they had, then I think Austin was clearly the better wrestler. When Austin came to the WWF, Michaels was allowed to do what he wanted in the main event whereas Austin was stuck in the midcard. As soon as Austin is given a shot at a major match (SS 96) he has what a lot of people consider to be an all time great match. Saying Michaels has more great matches is silly because he had a much longer career. Whats important is who did the most with the opportunities they had. If you factor in Michaels' pre 89 work as well as his comeback and Austin's 98-03, who has the biggest net gain (or net loss)?

    This was a title match and in lucha title matches are all about showing how good of a wrestler you actually are. Thus rudos don't heel it up much and tend to wrestle as relatively clean as possible.

    Michaels doesn't really know what he's doing in 92-93. He sets out on his own and doesn't know how to work singles matches that well. As an 8 year veteran he's being outclassed by 2-3 year pro

    They held the AJPW World tag titles which comprised of the PWF Tag titles and the NWA International Tag titles. They were unified in 1988.

    I actually haven't seen it in forever but I remember thinking KENTA might pull out the win at the time. That was like 8 years ago and I was a big KENTA fan then so maybe it was more wishful thinking on my part. I should watch it again.
